Hey brotha , I’m looking into the D9 , did you get to keep your steering wheel Audio control buttons. , and can you use your factory back up camera with that unit ? And are the guide lines usable when using the back up camera ?
Yes your steering wheel controls are completely operational, direct connection for your backup camera, it’ll boot up and you’ll have a big ass screen showing your back up camera just like from factory. You can choose whether you want guidelines or you can choose to turn them off it’s up to you. Best part about all this is. It’s all completely plug and play🎉
Hey bro. What cables did you connect. I tried installing mine and screen turned on but not push to start. When I got that working screen wouldn’t display. HELP!
It sounds like when you were transferring the parts from the old head unit to the new one, something wasn’t aligned properly or something is loose, I’d open it up again and make sure the pads for the buttons are aligned and all the connectors are snug and in the correct spot based on the wire position diagram
what about the ac controls? i see theres like an app that says air con, do you now have to control it with the stereo or do the oem switches and buttons still work?
A/C are controlled Via ; factory steering wheel buttons and newly integrated buttons from the D9 kit. There is an app but you won’t be using it while using CarPlay you’ll just use the buttons. Whenever you use the A/C control buttons the A/C animation will pop up on screen to show the power level and where the A/C is set to.
@@Mrkingwoozy in my personal opinion. I would just get the premium model. I would like leather seats and if I had a touch screen to begin with it would have been nice I had the calculator screen for over 2 years before I finally upgraded
Climate controls from factory will stay the same, and an added feature that I really like a lot is it will allow you to also monitor and change the A/C digitally on the touchscreen which makes the screen look awesome and makes the car look super cool and expensive!
Off the top of my head I know the D9 has a better resolution, more ram for quicker, smoother operation, and more storage. It’s a hug improvement over the D9 the hardware and plug and play bundles are improved as well the new GPS antennae has better range , and the head unit now has aux hookups for subs and amps if you choose to install and aftermarket sound system!
Yes, the unit has an auto brightness setting you can disable or keep on if you’d like ( I keep it on) and the screen looks super bright in the daytime and nighttime. And no I do not have a convertible. So the new improvements from the D9 are night and day. If there’s anymore questions or requests leave another comment!

How did you remove the old radio knobs from the motherboard i cant get mine off to save my life
The knobs do get stiff over time try wiggling side to side while pulling upwards. Be careful to not damage the motherboard though.

I have same car with NON auto climate. How does climate controls work with new unit.
Climate controls from factory will stay the same, and an added feature that I really like a lot is it will allow you to also monitor and change the A/C digitally on the touchscreen which makes the screen look awesome and makes the car look super cool and expensive!

Can you see the screen in the day time? DO you have a convertible? I read alot of reviews from the d7 where they cant see the screen.
