Mistake 1. Don’t visit the campus (it’s rona some campuses are offer online tours)
Mistake 2. Don’t follow others to college(do what’s best for YOU)
Mistake 3.Think to specific or to broad(find a balance)
Mistake 4. Assume what education is needed(talk to others about the correct classes/etc. you need for what your trying to achieve)

It really doesn't matter where you go as long as it's an ACCREDITED post-secondary school. We all know so many students who graduate from so-called best schools and have the personality and skills of a rock. Book knowledge is so different than applying what you learned. We all know people who have come from not-the-best schools and have succeeded. I'm glad that I didn't go where my high school friends went - it allowed me to grow up, expand my network of friends, etc.

I hope it can be helpful to you if you're still indecisive on your decision. Take your time when making this choice, it's too important to rush into.

What needs to be discussed and re-examined about college and university, is why university education gets so much praise in our society compared to college education and its graduates, or why college isn't suitable for many employers. It is utterly ridiculous that students who graduate from university after writing essays get more praise and options than college students who do practical work, research assignments, work with other students to complete large and strenuous projects (rather than get marks for discussion (which you can learn to do while working)), college students are often instructed by people who are or have been professionals in the field. Our society needs to learn that college education is just as important as university and often times more so. Having been to both, I would certainly take college over university. Some professions may benefit greatly from university, but they should not get so much prestige.

I’ve never rlly seen ppl put college and university on different pedestals. Only reason I thought it was better as a kid was cuz university sounds better than college cuz the name. But now choosing my school I don’t see a difference because it all depends on ur job and the education u want.

  • @Kookakoolio

I can't choose. I'm scared of growing also another reason I can't choose is what if my grades don't match up with what I want to do. I mean I'm somehow one of the top students but what if my grades just don't match up and I already have some university. What if I go to a university that I want but I pass and graduate but no job...

Dont complicate education. Theyre all profit companies. Just pick one thing that has demand. Example being engineeering, accounting, a trade
And know which specific job you can get after yoire done and build those skills. Keep it short. Example choose 2 jobs max you can build your skills with. Be focused and have depth. Example for trades pick plumbing, heavy duty mechanic, truck driving more laid back, equipment operating, engineering. You get it. Dont complicate things. And save, and invest the rest, and build.up. and build a company on the side if you can and want but dont think this is easy its not. So take that in mind. So if youre young. Have direction at a young age. Choose a program, know what job you can get when youre done focused, save and invest. And dont waste your money. Dont think mbas are valuable theyre not. Unless you go to a top uni and have a netwrok connection beforehand. If u dont youd be wastine your time. If choosing a masters pick something narrow like structureal engineering, data analysis, construction management. Something technical.

I need help. I have this school I LOVE but would need to take out some loans to finish paying my room& board. BUT I have a full ride somewhere else. Both are small private Uni’s but I hate the second option. Is it worth taking out loans to go to the school I love?

    • @hope_ann43
      @hope_ann43 Před 4 lety +7

@paola Aguilar Hi. Idk if you’ve made your decision yet but hear me out. You applied to the school you got a full ride for for a reason. Look at the option and think why do I hate this school. Talk to current students and alumni, email professors. A full ride is an incredible option but a place to call
Home is also important. Look at both colleges and narrow it down to the opportunities you think you will get after college. Which will lead you to a better income, opportunity, internships, connection etc etc.
Also it counts like your tuition is covered for one school and all you need is room and board? In that case get a job that way the next year you can live off campus and pay rent perhaps.
Personally I think a full ride is an awesome opportunity and if you take it you don’t have anything to lose but I can understand your wanting to go to a college you love, so good luck, best of wishes and no matter what you choose you’ll go great because you are very clearly intelligent.

This is helpful but how are you defining college. In the United States there is not difference as they all.provide a bachelors degree unless you are referring to a 2 year junior community College.
While I have carved my careers with 3 graduate degrees and a doctorate I use all of my degrees. What youbmentioned of mistakes are correct. Also in addition while listening to other mentors listen to yourself its what you want. Thank you for sharing this video.
