Another reminder that nobody could write for the human voice like Mozart did. And Regula is otherworldly in this performance, as in so many others. Bravo!
God and Mozart surely must smile when Regula Muhlemann sings such sublime perfection.

When it comes to Regula Muhlemann, the young Soprano from Switzerland there are not enough superlatives to describe her. Musicality, control, tone, timbre, technique, repertoire, Regula has it all. Her repertoire extends from the Baroque to the Romantic and she appears equally at home in all, but because Handel and Mozart are literature which is well-known to me, I could not be more delighted that she has chosen this literature also in which to specialize. The Handel arias are superb, and she tackles the most difficult of the Mozart arias with skill that is currently unrivaled by any other Soprano. I look forward to more from Regula Muhlemann for some time to come.
I think this has to be as close to perfection as humanly possible with music composition and performance combined.

It is a remarkable feeling to be able to listen to such a voice! Incredibly well trained, without a single hint of pitch problems, able to sing (easily) all the very difficult written ornamentations, and with such a beautiful tone. This is great singing, really great! The kind of outstanding voice that was not available anymore. Finally, a new occurence of such rare combination of spectacular high soprano. Thank you so much, Regula! Once the pandemic is over, come sing in Brazil!

At 5.40 there is a fabulous top note, and, I believe that Regula lost a little Intonation on the way down, probably due to concentration after an incredible leap from low notes.
I think, if she were to put on CD, the engineers could tweak the moment!

"Vorrei spiegarvi, oh Dio! was written to be inserted in an opera titled Il curioso indiscreto (The Curious, Indiscreet Man) by the composer Pasquale Anfossi. The libretto was based on the book Don Quixote. The aria begins in a slow tempo with muted strings and a beautiful part for oboe that continues in duet with the soprano who sings the part of Clorinda, who is in love with a Count, who is promised in marriage to another woman named Emilia. Clorinda sings that she wishes she could explain to him why she appears not to return his love. The tempo quickens in the second part of the aria as she urges him to leave her, telling him to go to Emilia. Mozart puts the soprano through her paces as he uses notes that span over two octaves in this effective and impressive aria."

A "tone deaf" singer "sings", this piece. Vorrei spiegarvi ,oh Dio. It is intentional, the tone deaf singing, in La Chimera but all is not lost as a soprano sings the music as intended. I honestly thought I had died and gone to heaven on hearing how the piece should be sung. And, yes, should have known it was Mozart... very keen on oboe introductions. Divine...

This is one of the fastest versions I've ever heard, not to say the squeakiest high E.
Mireile , Mireille tu peux faire mieux que Waouh . Cette voix et beaute et presence valent bien un : incroyable ou epoustouflant ou merveilleux . Les anglo-saxons usent le WOW pour rien du tout .

Vabbeh, chi la supera, quella! Poi, in realtà, a livello timbrico preferisco lei. E anche nella duttilità espressiva della voce del registro centrale. Poi, certo, come precisione, gestione del fiato e abilità nelle zone "difficili" la Devia è a un altro livello...
Lovely soprano voice, but I'm not thrilled with the breaks for breath intakes on high notes. Orchestra is beautifully balanced. All in all, though, I still prefer Kathleen Battle's recording of this piece.
