This is a cool trick lol. I think I'll try it myself. One thing I'd like to point out is that it's actually called a steelpan as "steeldrum" would imply it being a membranophone. It is also what the instrument is called by the founding fathers of the instrument and the citizens of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago!
