PILOT WHALES FOGGY ENCOUNTER PICO ISLAND| Futurismo | Azores

🌫 Amidst the rain and dense fog, we were spending time with a pod of Atlantic spotted dolphins. As we enjoyed their playful company, our attention was suddenly drawn to a group of large dorsal fins approaching our direction. It was a pod of long-finned pilot whales, a species rarely observed in the Azores.
👀 By checking the dorsal fins of the individuals, we also realized it was the same family we had been observing over the past few days south of Pico!
Despite the challenging weather conditions, this epic experience of witnessing these magnificent creatures up close was truly unforgettable!
