"KURUTTE HEY KIDS!" Once you hear these words, you will instantly remember the chorus melody of "Kyouran Hey Kids!!" - probably the coolest opening song ever. This piano arrangement is quite addictive from the very first second, because of the irresistible combination of a jazzy guitar voice in the right hand and a walking bass line in the left hand in 0:07.
I tried to replicate the rhythm of the drums as accurate as I could for the entire piece. This results in a few unconventional left hand patterns such as in 0:20 or in 1:24. But the real challenge was arranging the chorus in 0:45: The drums had a very fast "dum-ta-ta, dum-ta-ta" rhythm and only after a lot of trial and error, I found a good left hand pattern which properly matches the rhythm. The left hand syncopation can be heard especially clear in 0:49.
There is also another problem I needed to solve: The "I respect the hero!" part in 1:08 is only spoken in the original song and it doesn't have a melody. But since I really like the guitar melody from 0:07, I used it as a starting point and modified the melody a little bit to create an original melody line for the spoken part.
Last but not least, the rarely used left hand melody octaves is appearing again! For the second half of the bridge in 2:26, I needed some extra punch in the bass to replicate the aggressive drums of the original song. And left hand octave melodies just does the job perfectly. At the same time, the right hand pattern in 2:26 is one of my favorite "arrangement tricks" to extend and intensify a long melody on the piano. I used it in my Swordland (Sword Art Online OST) arrangement as well in the past.

I love this performace so much, it's been a good while since the last time I enjoyed one of your videos this much! sure the song being a banger is part of the reason why, but the way you played it made me feel very nostalgic, it's as if I have rediscovered your channel all over again

I have attempted to learn this.. sadly 1 year of self taught piano is not remotely close to learn it yet, but I won’t give up, best anime op ever, from the best anime. Idk why but this song touches deeper than my heart, and I am a depressing piano music kinda girl, I love it, it is soooo beautiful and flawless in my opinion. :3

As a self taught keyboard board I've been able to get around this opening on it, it's no where near good because I'm poor enough and can't afford any piano lol
This one is actually really easy to learn with practice, its not that complicated, it might take newcomers a few months, intermediate people around a month or 3 weeks, and proffesionals 1 to 2 weeks, this is an ammazing cover, and in reality what you need is speed, dont think much because you will go into panic, just commit to the piano and thats it

Left and right hands are like pulling and talking from two different worlds.
The bass line in particular is so captivating, it seems to exude a dangerous allure.
It is also like throwing a heavy punch against fate without compromise!
More sparks shot out from the keys and turned into gorgeous fireworks.
Many audience members excitedly raised their beers to salute the stage!
This man's performance is as addictive as a cold beer in summer!
When I thought his rock music was as exciting as beer.
However, at 2:14-2:26, he accidentally inserted a jazz-style solo,
Like the dense and fine foam on beer, you can't miss it!
2:40-2:58 With only 10 fingers, he can reproduce the sound of electric guitar and drums.
It's like a rock band with just one person!

Some noteable moments for me
-1:46 - you know i love those third hand RH bell tones
-2:00 - the whole piece from this point onwards is just on another levels, so many slick and nice licks during the solo passage
- 2:26 - really like the RH dual melodies here
- 2:46 - the isolation of RH voices is perfectly balanced!
- 3:00 - again, RH voicing is soo good as we bring in the final chorus, and while trying to maintain a soft volume. can't understand just how difficult it is to accomplish this level of finesse
