Super Smash Bros Ultimate - How to Beat Dr Wily Spirit on Hard Difficulty (World of Light)

- A guide on how to beat the Dr. Wiley spirit stage with metal megaman and dr. mario in super smash bros ultimate. This is in the world of light adventure mode on hard difficulty.
In game designing school, this should be an example on how not to design a challenge. A challenge involves testing your skill, not winning with exploiting.
Is it actually possible to beat these guys without lucas?
@@jugglenaut1955 i gotten close a couple of times with Yoshi, Kirby, Marth, and Lucario. Tried about every spirit combo I could think of. Close but not good enough. I only got to Mario with Yoshi 2 times and I was like 1-2 hits from death. I used a spirit for reduced ground lag time and heal when shielding successfully, Yoshi can do a down butt slam and hop into the air faster than MegaMan reacts most of the time. I tried more or less a similar strategy as with Lucas but dang does he work better lol.
I think about 30% of World of Light encounters would be considered poor design. This mode aggravates me as Smash has never done before.
All challenges are either so damn easy its a drag going trough them, and then there is unfair fucking shit like this
SetsunaAngel99 actually I really enjoy this “bad game design.” I understand I am in the minority, but I would prefer a challenge so difficult it makes me spend 3 hours perfecting my gameplay than a braindead easy level. I spent so many hours perfecting a few of the fights I felt were hard. Many of those I beat after an hour or so. A few took me around 3 hours (Giga Bowser somehow). This challenge was similar. I clicked on this video because I had given up. But I didn’t have Lucas. So I just beat it with Donkey Kong. It took a while, but I would say it was worth it.

To all Smash players here... feel no shame cheesing a bullshit fight. There is no victory in World of Light without cheese.
Beat it! Kirby up b’s all day just spacing them as I come down with the slash. Used Xerneas (good defense) as primary and metal killer and polar bear for support - polar bear or similar is necessary for it to work. Keep just enough range/distance from the megas for your slash to still hit! ^__^
Thank you, great tip. Worked perfectly! I used Zelda (wind waker) giving the possibility of a double final smash which also push the metal mega men off the stage and then the polar bear as the added which I had no idea was such an asset for finishing moves. Thanks so much! With Lucas obviously.

I just used snake to RPG everything on screen with metal killer and the franklin badge.
It helps to have the double final smash

I tried that with fox but it didn't work. Falco can kick his reflector so it is more effective I guess

Spammed grenade with Snake + two staminup and +explosive damage. Still took about 20-30 tries

You need to have captain falcon the need are the primary is M bison and the supports are viridi and bonus fruit we it begins starts doing captain falcon’s side special keep on doing it if you have final smash go to the mega man or dr Mario (dr wily) thank for reading this hope it helps

Just beat these metal fuckers using Little Mac in a jiffy. Here's how:
1. Equip a max level 4 star legendary grab (blue icon) spirit
2. Equip a support spirit with the "metal killer" ability. Makes fighting the mega mans MUCH easier as it increases damage to metal opponents
3. Equip a support spirit with the "hyper smash attacks" ability. Increases attack power and smash attack charge speed, VERY helpful
4. Equip Little Mac and spam cheese his forward smash, you'll take out a mega man in like 4-5 hits
5. Victory dance

I just spammed Up B with Kirby while using a Franklin Bage to reflect projectiles and the Great Fairy to heal me once I got to hurt.

This is an absolute pain, but a youtuber used a really effective strategy: KEEP SPAMMING DOWN B WITH DK
I'll try that with Metal Killer equipped, since I haven't freed Lucas yet.

@@Laihoard1995 yeah but it takes a lot longer, if you have metal killer equipedd plus give hp after a ko or spirits that give more stamina it's a lot faster
Bruh i got this on my second try with lucas this guy is a genius
I used Fox, Caeda, and Celebi for this one. What I did is i just spam neutral b with fox’s lasers. I also used his down b so all the projectiles mega man throws will damage them. Its really that easy.

What a coincidence my main is Lucas and I was trying with him before
I couldn’t beat this and have easily spent three+ hours on this one battle and then I had an idea and beat it first try, the plan was to over and over float on top the megamen with Kirby and down special (down b) and I used metal killer and fast fs support spirits

It takes a while but you can camp them out with Kirby + auto heal and maybe some extra jump so you get full health every wave

Okay, here's the set that worked for me on Hard WITHOUT ANY SKILL TREE SKILLS for those of you not good with Lucas and his attack patterns like myself;

Fighter - Pikachu (Pika mains represent)
Primary Spirit
Xerneas (Found like, 10 feet from Viridi); It's a Shield Spirit so you get Type Advantage, and it matches with Pikachu for a Pokemon series power bonus, putting you roughly on Wily's level at around 12,200 Party Power combined with the two below secondaries.
Secondary Spirits
-Viridi [Metal killer] (Location shown in video); "Robot Masters" are metal, so duh.
-Wedding Peach/Great Fairy [Critical-Health Healing] (Great Fairy Location shown in the video); As long as you can get through the first two waves without triggering it, that extra 50% should be able to last you until the end.

I didn't really have a method to the madness beyond go for as many aerials as you can get in since the "Robot Masters" seem slow on the charge for any upward attack, and you should take advantage of any and all opportunities to get a Dash Attack or Side-Smash in for LOADS of damage. Also, the dodge button is your best friend and the grab button is now useless unless you're fighting Doc himself.

Just use 3 stamina spirts and be as peservent as possible I used sonic but I feel my method works with most characters.

no spirit match is worse than this one. there are some that have the obnoxious wind hazard, but even with using the skill tree, this fight is way too luck dependent.

@@xmoore5659 I won the Pauline spirit twice. I used chrom's soaring slash and while it took several attempts to win, it was no where near as painful as this abomination. even sheeda's spirit was more difficult for me than Pauline. the same goes for ninten, flying man and whispy woods. I had to use the wind resist skill for the whispy while the others were no spirits at all. Pauline is annoying, but her difficulty is extremely overhyped. DK and the Lady was worse, and I lucked out when using Ridley.

@@xmoore5659 the first time I got Pauline was on the spirit board. the second time on the WoL (Hard mode). I am doing a spiritless challenge (although I have used skills if the battle is almost impossible without them such as wiley, whispy woods and some bosses that are very luck dependent when they "turn red" such as galeem, Dracula (first form), and dharkon.
when it comes to nearly every legend mission, I used either chrom or ike's up B while either ledge camping with multiple opponents or try to lure them midair to perform a sacrificial KO. that is how I won against the boss. Geno was another annoying spirit and Ashley was more of a mind screw than actually hard with this method (messed up my rhythm briefly after I won the spirit).
