  • Danger awaits beyond the tunnel! The Robe Canyon Historic Trail tempts hikers with its breathtaking views, but the path can be treacherous. Will we turn back, or will the allure of nature push us forward into the unknown?
Follow along and find out as we navigate slippery slopes, crumbling rocks, and even a friendly toad!

Another great video! The hike was somewhat risky, but definitely rewarding, especially with the caves and those views. Good call on not crossing that bridge, though, probably not the risk. Robe Canyon looks like a great place for a day hike! Surprised you didn’t see more hikers.

It was more about how I did not want to fall off either side. You’re more brave than I was. Thanks for watching!

Read the book "Monte Cristo" by Phillip Woodhouse It really adds amazing context to the hike a lot of the steel for the RR tracks was hauled from the east coast around the horn of South America and up the pacific coast. One of the failures of the town was extremely heavy snowfall followed by pineapple express that would wash out the tracks and as you see in your video the river raises high enough to wedge trees sideways in those train tunnels! There is a stretch where they actually set the RR ties in concrete to try to save the tracks.

Wow, I be sure to check out the book…love history of places that I can explore. I plan to go see the town this fall. Thanks for watching!
