- Larry Ellison is America's third richest man. His company, Oracle, makes a widely-used database that handles everything from online banking to airline reservations. Charlie Rose spoke to Ellison at his compound, near San Francisco.
okay i'll say it publicly haha i love how straightforward he is
at this one
And then Charlie: "Did you watch him die?" lmaoo
What kind of fucking question is that? "Did you watch him die". LMAO WTF
Jonathan Gliniak IKR lol
Even if intentions were good, it's his job to come up with diplomatic phrasing. In this case, he failed.
We should all talk just like the two in the interview, everywhere, anytime. Because it is what america promised - and stands for. (As far as we know)
he has had so much work done but looks great. I like his honesty and his care free attitude.
Charlie Rose, "did you watch him die" how bloody insensitive.
Savage!
Sounds like ol' Charlie forgot his sensitivity meds!
Benny Hill a snowflake ?? So should I directly ask you if you watched your best friend die ? Lmfao having empathy is being a snowflake? You guys are so idiotic
Why? I found this quite correct - why not let us know?
Charlie Rose can't ask a question to that man unless it is cleared by him. Wrong question.
Amazing man. There is no other Larry Ellison.
He is. ❤
Love you Larry! Keep it up!
Life is a miracle and I just don't wanna spend it just doing Oracle.
Thank you Mr.Ellison for hosting the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells each year.
Not sure about Charlie, but there is no doubt in my mind that Larry can see the future .... Prescient. Must be pretty cool to have that gift.
😊
The only reason Oracle bought Sun Microsystems was so they could sue Google over their use of Java. The fact is that in 2006 Sun Microsystems (creators of Java) open sourced the language and the tools they had built (SDK, compiler, etc...). There were portions not open sourced and Oracle saw an opportunity for gains through litigation. First Android phone launched in 2008. Oracle bought Sun Microsystems in 2010, for value of the IP which to an extent, they successfully claim entitlement to through litigation going all the way to a Supreme Court ruling in their favor.
Thats what you call coporaterism.
Amazing
Still google was in the wrong. This could have saved Sun.
@@Esico6 Oracle was created with stolen IBM tech.... you don't call someone a bad person while being a bad person.
2024 Breaking Bread
Larry Ellison def 1 of the greatest tech minds of the early internet era…
and yet he thinks america is a functioning democracy and that there is a way to vote against the NSA
“DID YOU WATCH HIM DIE!?!” Wtf
I want more interviews of this man Larry Ellison. Interesting man.
It is nice to know that Larry and Steve were friends.
"No one's irreplaceable" until the next technology comes along.
Larry Ellison brilliant man, I have many certifications I have to do for his firm
Larry Ellison is the reason why I am snorting adderall and learning to code mid summer. I want to be the wolf of the valley. Aviato.
Kurt yeah like Asian and south african billionairs and millionairs are also jewish right
How’s it going for ya bud?
He's tripping on LSD now while thinking of a company name. Aviato.
I love this comment so much
Best Comment I've ever read on a CZcams Video.
"This program is essential" says man who is paid billions of dollars to maintain said program.
Does that take away its essence? 😂
Based on his answers towards privacy, you can tell Oracle is doing a lot of collecting & Larry is getting paid well for it.
Oracle was founded with a CIA database contract. Larry Ellison is not a good person and he contradicts himself constantly. "Google stole" Larry. Look into how Oracle was created with stolen IBM tech. You're going to be surprised what you learn. They all steal from each other and then play the victim.
Strange interview..
Worked once with SAP at the headoffice of ESSO at Breda the Netherlands, what can I tell that goes fast.
This interviewer is all over the place
"Let's talk about Steve Jobs"
The 60 sec of his interview are chilling.
Hello viewer. Are you waiting for the video to finish loading? Did you scroll down to read the comments while you wait? So did I. Looks like we're both having a bad day now.
Ellison was the inspiration for Dilinger in the original Tron movie. He originated the template for purchase and dismantle other tech companies that are either too small to defend themselves or recouping from economic downturns. If anyone doubts his ego maniac reptillian qualities they only need to look at his xunzi themed garden from which he waxes poetic his demands on the world.
How about lying? Does that make you evil? Is patent trolling evil? Both things Larry is good at.
+Julian King Which Larry?
@@maximilianweling477 He meant Larry Ellison
smart peoples give smart answers always!!!
***** WOW that escalated quickly LMAOOOO!!!!!
Don’t you just love direct people? You will always know where you stand with them. I absolutely love direct people. I am too direct. However, being direct you’re often not liked by many.
Larry Ellison called it.
Great interview
lol
Larry and Steve: Crazy Ones who thought they could change the world and did.
They are watchin you right now as you are watching this
Good mórníñg Larry Ellíson. God bléss you
Look at this face guys, this is the face of technology's bright future. Love this guy
lol
This guy speaks so fast
Too much vaseline on the upper lip, Larry!
Why does he put vaseline on the upper lip?
Pretty sure it's just that he came out of the clone mold like an hour ago...
:-/
😂😂😂
his eyebrows are on his top lip
Daniel D'Angelo ha ha very good observation
I’m not sure this interview aged well. I think apple have done well recently to claw Android users away, and have made some clever moves with Apple TV plus and Apple Music. The structure for long term success is there. They are the only company who sell tablets and watches!
would you believe this guy is 70 years old?
Notice the botox look!
yes, his face has been touched up with Surgeries, botox, and makeup.
***** Botox don't you get it?
Blood is one helluva drug
Which old guy do you mean???
There can only be ONE Larry!!!11!!
:-/
And nobody mentions the real rock stars: the Xeros parc researchers!
You are right.
Yes Xeros parc was very inventive but without the foresight and Drive of Steve Jobs, We would still not have the Mouse or User Interfaces that we have today, Xerox was unable to bring this technology to the market!
"Lho woves phild corn?" 😮😢😢😮😮
well, in August 2018 Apple reached the 1T market cap level, so..
Someone make a curb meme
I love how he justify NSA spying on everyone.
@touhid abir I didn’t know that 😱
@@WOLFMAN305 The programme he developed was named Oracle. Thats how he found his company name.
Charlie is only 2 years older than Larry
Larry spends millions on anti ageing research, nosejobs and botox.
He's really smart!
*Galvin belson* real life
I want to work for Larry
We don't replace the real government...we replace the idiots on the surface that keep us divided and arguing about petty topics
He sure is handsome for his age!!
Regardless of what the gov does with your data, being watched affects people’s behaviour. I think he's expressing the nothing to hide argument.
Larry explained Obamagate in a nutshell. Exactly what happened.
HE'S RIGHT.
Anybody here after supreme court ruling?
Me
2:27 oh boy you were wrong 😂
Larry Ellison you said it has come true
*Impression of getting to see a professional interview* ... "But do you think they're evil?"
EVIL
EVIL EVIL EVIL
terrible interviewer
Post editor on chief sounded worn and tearing during vma and Grammy ceremony Doc!
Steve jobs stubbornness cost him his life. If he opened his arms to modern medicine early on and not holistic he would probably still be with us.
Larry vs Larry
Why does Larry Ellison look like Mickey Rourke in "iron man 2"?
it was Mickey
Lmao
His entire response on the NSA is pure sarcasm. Not a single statement regarding it reflects reality. In fact I think he made the democracy statement to allude to his own ridiculousness. He obviously can't speak the truth as it would be "irresponsible" in terms of stock price and government sales.
He would defend murder if he thought Oracle stock would be affected.
Woah that far?
The Invincibles are the first to be struck. Charlie Rose and History...
Larry Amaze me👍🏻
How are they allowed to train(then monetise) their LLMs on Wikipedia articles while not paying a single penny to all the contributors on Wikipedia?
#NobelPeacePrize should consider post humus awards. Steve is an icon across generations.
Larry Ellison can express one word "GRIZZLED VETERAN"
Wonderful man
he was shorting APPLE !
"If you don't like what NSA is doing you can just put in a new government" Aaah i guess everyone wants to be spied on now
Even Larry the billionaire can be wrong he was wrong about Tim Cook CEO of Apple has taken Apple to even greater heights than Steve Jobs and now a US$3trillion company
This is best
Definitely shorting Apple 🍎 2:27 Larry Ellison seems a very cool guy 😆
This was a great interview. WTF is everyone on here talking about?
so many judges in the comment section
🤣
It's Charlie Rose's understanding of "investigative" journalism ...
... actually ... if Steve Jobs would have avoided all MDs and hospitals he would be still alive and fine ...
agree agree but they are tiny hats and stick like glue- even unto death
[5:38] Now that we have crossed that threashold, what's next?
This aged badly. Larry predicted Apple wouldn’t be successful without Steve but it hit $2 trillion recently.
There's something suspicious about Ellison's integrity to me. To say that what Larry Page _did_ is evil, but not the Page himself is evil, is a philosophical contradiction. No doubt a rationalized political stance, but a contradiction none the less. Actions do not take place apart from the prime mover. If Page did something evil then _Page_ did something evil. The resulting actions were a product of Page's mind; Page's orchestration. The action doesn't take independent moral responsibility apart from the actor. Larry cannot possibly believe it to be otherwise, therefore he is lying, therefore I question his own integrity.
He couldn't have been more wrong about Apple under Tim Cook. The company has tripled in size since Steve Jobs.
Mila Rovas financially yes, technology wise no groundbreaking new things were released...
I agree. The innovation engine died with Steve Jobs. The cash engine however continues to thrive.
Which new innovations have you seen under Tim? Which pricing shifts have you seen under Tim? It's like Steve Ballmer when he took over from Bill Gates..
Apple is rich company that makes stupid glass phones with useless features and no innovation
Apple is doing fine, incredibly enough. It really puts a pin in the term "Too big to lose Warren Buffet money" or fail.
Hmmm... Can you send me like some Clam Chowder... And a Yacht?
sure but leave the ones in the background or under the surface to pop out their ugly heads later on.
Love Ellison. Can't copy.
Apple Inc was utterly dependent on Steve Jobs' brand. As soon as he died the company followed . Of course it is still a behemoth but it's never gonna be the same without Steve Jobs.
God bless you Larry Ellison in Jesus' Name Amen ✝️
Wow Larry was going bald in the back 6 years ago. Good for the camera person to get the shot mostly you never see it. ;)
Steve Jobs was the strongest man he knew ????
Larry Elison meu amor você não enviou meu presente de Natal? Estou esperando. Obrigada.abraços
Does he has eyebrow?
No need to ambulances,which called near,but healthy,nodrugs,nodrunk,noviolent,nogay
"The great thing is we live in a democracy. If we don't like what the NSA is doing, we'll just get rid of the government and put in a different government." HAHAHA does this rich snob really believe that bullshit?
El creepo he is !
Obviously Larry's claims that Apple will decline without Steve Jobs hasn't aged well. 10 years later after this comment , Apple is now a 2 trillion dollar company.
He is clever, aggressive and highly manipulative.
Exactly Wanna bet his information is encrypted
Steve Jobs wasn't replaceable but Apple didn't fall.
