- Suite Bergamasque (Arr. For Harp And Oboe): Clair De Lune", composición musical administrado por One or more music publishing rights collecting societies.
[english]
"Claire de Lune" was fully animated and scored when it was deleted from Fantasia in early 1940, a casualty of Fantasias's excessive length.
In February 1942, inking, painting and Technicolor photography were completed for "Clair de Lune" as a short subject, but it was not released. In 1946 it was edited, reshaped and re-scored as the popular music sequence "Blue Bayou" in Make Mine Music.
Previous attempts to recreate "Clair de Lune" were frustrated by missing animation and Stokowski footage.
A nitrate workprint of the original version located in 1992 has allowed "Clair de Lune" to be completely reconstructed as Walt Disney intended it to be seen.

my bird fell asleep with me in my palm, the night before he died, as I played this song. he was a little albino budgie that I had for 7 years, and he lived through 4 other birds. He was old, and tired. I remember waking up in the middle of the night; he was sleeping against my face as this song played. Peacefully breathing, my friend through my childhood.
Que bonito lo que cuentas. Sorry for my english! Your little bird was very Happy next to you! Saludos desde Asturias
What a beautiful story. God bless you!
@@vesperst.johnsmythe hey God bless you too
There will never be animation like this again. Just beautiful. Today's Disney can't hold a candle to this masterpiece.
And to think this is a deleted scene that never got to be in the movie. Ughh, I weep for this kind of art.
Back then, they wanted to make children dream. Now they untertain them
@@maximef4036 so true
You're right! They can't hold a handle to anything made back then.
1940 - 2020
HAPPY 80TH BIRTHDAY FANTASIA.
THE BEST DISNEY MOVIE OF THE HISTORY.
I wish they can keep that sequence in Fantasia this is one of most beautiful animation
I will definitely never understand why the Disney Studios deleted it from the original... what a crime, what a shame ! This would have been one of the highlights of the 1940 « Fantasia » with Schubert’s Ave Maria and other great sequences. And the orchestration, my goodness... sensibility and emotion held together and magnificently played by the silky Philadelphia Orchestra and Maestro Stokowski. A real pearl.
They deleted the sequence from the film because of "Fantasia"'s excessive length of 124 minutes.
@@rodrigosamuelguinis717 5 extra mins wouldn’t have hurt in fact it would have made it better
Plus it keeps Fantasia the world's longest animated movie....
@@worldofhunter1636 do they subtract the live action portions from that record?
Well, the animation didn't go to waste. It was reused for the "Blue Bayou" segment of _Make Mine Music._
The part at 4:15 always gives me so many emotions, and this little animation perfectly fits those feelings.
The night I met my Fiancee I heard this and was convinced that she was that special one. I got tears to my eyes then and still do now every time I hear it
I don't doubt it, this piece is incredible, thanks for your comment!
Disney should have kept this segment and cut something else instead, this is just too beautiful.
The truest piece of art on the internet
Those of us who heard it originally will never forget it. None of us recognize what Disney is today
I'm not crying!! I'm just chopping up lots and lots of strong onions!!!! I can't help but think of my grandfather and great aunt flying to heaven when I see the last bit,
This was the version I was looking for, with the "Fantasia" scene. This master piece had it all. So beautiful, nostalgic and misterious. I can't describe it
I'm so glad they found this reel...
This is absolutely my favorite song. This and a few Kenny G songs soothed the savage beast in me. Literally saved my life in my darkest time. Fell asleep many nights to them. Thank you Mr.s Debussy and G.
This is pure art.
I've always loved this song, but the way it's played/conducted here is far and away the most sublime version of it that ever since hearing it I'm unable to listen to any other version. The longing, the tender aching, the gentle enduring love that these artists have conveyed here just shatters the heart and holds it together again so beautifully, I am undone and restored within the space of a few breaths.
Stokowski certainly knew how to convey what you express...
I remember the first times i saw that, it brought me tears, pure poetry.
Really one of my favorite of all videos.
So beautiful I'm shedding tears ;o; i shall sleep soundly now
Those 2 birds that are flying off in the night sky remind me of those 2 people who played as the MMPR, the actress who played as Trini (Thuy Trang) and the actor who played as Tommy (Jason David Frank). RIP Trini and Tommy, may the Morphin power protect you 2.
A veces fuerte,a veces terrorífico, a veces meditativo.
Fantasia is a Disney different we used to know. Sometimes strong, sometimes terrifying, sometimes meditative. This short uses the same technique and spirit than Fantasia's ending (the Ave Maria), and the beginning of Bambi. But this short is the best tribute that could be done to Debussy. It's one of the few American cartoons that looks like a Japanese Ukiyo-e print, and oriental art was an important source of inspiration for Impressionist art. Actually this short, more than a beautiful landscape, is like a haiku, one of those three-line Japanese poems that are improvised on what we perceive and feel at the time.
Still a shame that this wasn't included in Fantasia and that the music used instead was Blue Bayou, I mean I like the Make Mine Music short film but it works so much better with Clair de Lune and this one's like one of the most known pieces in classical music
I'm so glad the Google doodle of Debussy led me here. This is absolutely beautiful. Makes me well up in happy tears. 💖
Beautiful. I think I should creat a story about a loving egret called The Secret of Clair de Lune which will also explain the true meaning of love and not judging someone by its appearance.
OMG WHAT A BEAUTIFUL HEARTWARMING SONG.
One crystal-clear night, a female egret stood in the swamps of Everglades National Park. She walked slowly across the water. She spread her wings and flew over the water in the light of the moon. After that, she skidded her feet and landed elegantly on the water. Ripples began to appear as the moon reflected on the water. A male egret walked across the water and spread his wings and flew off. The female egret began to take off. Then two egrets flew through the air and traveled across the sky.
Absolutly blown away! So many emotions .. Thank you for uploading!!
My favourite classic music with my favourite cartoon. In a word: Perfection!
Reminds me of a certain flower that sells things to you and chases you around when angered...
I loved Fantasia when I saw it as a teenager. This was quite wonderful. Thank you.
I just watched Make Mine Music and I remembered hearing that there was a version of Blue Bayou with different music. I had really liked the segment in MMM, but by god this is so much better.
Wonderful! A thousand times. It made me tears...
Esto es arte.
I’ve been looking this video for years, thank you 💙
Beautiful. This is my favorite clip ever 💜💜💜💜
When the soul flies to eternity...❤

Beautiful animation, beautiful music, the end always gets me emotional..
If you pause the right time, they'll be a good wallpaper even they are blurry a little
Bravo!!!!!
Thanks for sharing
This is the piece I will always remember. NOT WOKE! Just Disney as it was.
Bellísimo
magical
masterpiece
Lovely
Leo, you mad genius.... I love you.
Bravo! 👏
its so special because it was omitted.
Ahhhh now i just need someone to cry with...
Amazing xxxo
very similar to Blue Bayou with 'fantasia on greensleeves', almost a precursor to - don't know which was first but certainly done by the same artists -
ah, now just found this in the description - interesting - beautiful but I think I prefer the latter - thanks for uploading
That time in Phineas and Ferb when they make the oceans 11 ending
Une pure merveille.......
My introduction to Clair de Lune was in the Ren & Stimpy episode The Littlest Giant.

Lol!
While listening to this song, the things that comes in my mind is cartoon of Disney 😍
it's a composition not a song, a song has singing, idiot
for some reason this song always reminds of the first Alien movie
Why?
Tripp1993 towards the end of Alien (1979) pretty much during the end credit sequence it sounds similar to this
The music from "Alien," is called "Symphony No. 2," from the end of the film after the alien is destroyed by Ellen Ripley, following it, she makes her final report on the Narcissus to the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, whom she's beginning to despise for putting her crew in danger, reporting that she is the only survivor, and the Nostromo has been completely destroyed along with it's cargo of tons of mineral ore, from Thedus dock to be sent home to Earth, before going to hypersleep, then the credits.
The first two films are the best.
And watch "Jodorowsky's Dune," and learn about how a Chilean-French cult filmmaker prepared to make a mind-trip adaptation of Frank Herbert's "Dune," with French comic book artist, Jean "Moebius" Giraud, British book cover artist, Chris Foss, Swiss-German surrealist painter, H.R. Giger, and science fiction fan/young special effects wiz, Dan O'Bannon, only for it to fall apart, but it had an influence on films from "Star Wars," and "Alien," to "The Matrix," and the Jodoverse.
Tripp1993 without question Alien and Aliens are the best in the series
Alien 3 was just okay, Alien: Resurrection was a joke, I refuse to watch any of the AVP movies and I hated Prometheus
Good point.
pretty
❤
This segment reminds me of Wall-E when he went to the outer space.
They could easily use this when Fantasia 2000 was in development.
would this count as a a romantic musical number? Because I just put it in my love playlist.
Yes it would Debussy was a composer in the Romantic Period 👍🏻
This should be a missing element that they should put back in Make mine music having master maestro Leopold Stokowski composing blue bayou
Make me wanna fucking cry! 😢
A nice find- but what is it to do with Bavouzet?
Relançado como curta independente em 1996 .
I think Debussy's "Dialogue between sky and sea" would be a great Fantasia segment. But then not if they re interpreted it
A painting in motion
Are there other animations set to this music?
What is the name of animation ??
Blue Bayou by Disney
Oceans 11 :D
Movie ?
Make mine music ( 1946 )
Fantasia (1940), this is a deleted segment though but the movie is still amazing
Which chapter is this?
This chapter was eliminated by the film's duration.
I can see why it was cut from Fantasia.
While not bad by any means, I think it would have been the weakest part and this would have been the scene I would have cut.
This song is way too subtle compared to the others. It would be really jarring to go from seeing the history of the earth and the cosmos, or a roaring meeting of demons and monsters, to a peaceful song of the beauty of the moon and vice versa.
The animation and composition are both utterly beautiful but also more focused on the atmosphere and slight changes than the others.
So, what's the story in this?
male egret: I have searched the whole bayou for love, but there's no hope left for me. Am I to forever be alone?
Fernando Ramos I hope to find my romantic mate, it's very difficult 😢😢😢😢😰😰😰
The male egret is like me. I have been depressed about being alone with not one woman to marry me. 😭
