@@HooptyDaDoopty Becouse unlike general imagination of vacuum is perceived by uneducated people - in space you actually get to hear some sounds through vibrations in your bones. Also, becouse the suit itself is filled with oxygen, and becouse the hard shell also vibrates becouse of the expansion of the gases in the barrel it also transfers sound. So yeah - this game actually did a solid job on sound design.

@Lukáš Kos yeah, but it's definitely not how it would sound. You wouldn't hear the gun clocking or the reload sound. You'd hear some sort of a thum and a swossh as the force of the bullet escaping the barrel. You also most definitely wouldn't hear other people shooting, as long as they're not shooting at you and hitting their shots

extrem desync (you will just get teleported back after a several seconds and all your shots dissapear) and cheating issues since its using Sguard
Now this is what u call an absolute unique fps title and it's very well done too considering it's in early access.
Oh yeah and updates are already rolling out.

The minimap is just like games like Elite: Dangerous. Horizontal line gives direction, "up" is in front of you, and vertical lines give elevation relative to your current viewing plane.

Yes! A space game that does sound properly! All you would hear is the vibrations going through the suit. Also no leading as there is not air to cause drag. Pretty much a point and click adventure

You’d also fly back from the recoil of the rifle into endless space, unless you had a powerful thruster linked to the fire rate of your rifle
Gun shots do push your body backwards. And you still have to lead as bullets have limited velocity. But they don't slow down and you don't have to worry about any bullet drop
@@jackbaggaley8836 they have thrusters from my understanding. That;s most likely what the controller is for in the characters left hand, allowing them to move around space.

@@viking_nor You get to hear a sound through your bones becouse they are solid and yes - vibrations spread through solid things.
Tomo, the radar shows the X, Y & Z plane. Objects are displayed with a line connecting to a small circle. That circle is your line or sight plane, if the object is below the circle it’s under you and vice versa.
Looks like a cool game.
I've been playing the hell out of this. Very fun and different. Leeway and Orlan mostly. Only thing that sucks sometimes is that you spawn right in front of an enemy in the CQB map 3-5 sometimes lol
How do you get access
Hey mate! How is the game runnign FPS wise? Would you recommend buying the game with a mediocre pc? Just wondering because the game looks sensational but I dont want to spend money on a game that does not run well...
@Stanley S. Hi friend! 👋 my PC is pretty fast overall and see no issues. For the middle of the road pc, I think you should be fine. Just perhaps turn a few graphic settings down. Surprisingly plays nice FPS wise.
Hitscan makes sense for all the bullets in this game. There is no air resistance, so bullets can go as far as they go without losing their speed

for a bullet to really start losing significant velocity it usually takes more distance than most shooter games play out in,
but even when keeping its muzzle velocity in space it would still take noticeable travel time at larger distances.
Don't forget zero gravity
To be clear, these bullets would never slow down or stop unless acted upon by an outside force.

This looks incredible! Such a unique idea. The sounds of the shots and reload being muffled by the suit is a really nice little touch. Maybe a bit more audio on the surrounding gun fights would be good. Can't wait to see what comes next with this
You would not be able to hear any gunfights going around you in space, neither your own gun, only some vibrations going through your suit when firing a gun and I guess getting hit... So it's an interesting question of balancing the realism with gameplay as we are used to sound awareness based gameplay from other shooters.
@@TheEmulgator I agree but it just feels like it's missing that little something, there's a fine line between realism and the game so it would add that little extra feel of immersion for sure

This idea isn't new. Previous FPS in space games just failed. Look at Shattered Horizon from 2009.

That's awesome man! I'm glad you're enjoying the content and benefiting from it with some good games. Word of warning with this one though, I keep getting put on Asian servers so I'm assuming que times are probably quite bad in some regions. Still a lot of fun if you can avoid the high ping though!

I love the muffled ‘space’ audio. This looks like sooo much fun. So unique.
If you played Elite Dangerous you definitely know that radar, it shows if enemies are above or below you and once you get used to it is really helpful.
Looks like it's one of those games where you give it a try for 30 mins and 5 hrs later you're still playing it without realising how long you've actually been playing
Bullets without air resistance is just insane to think about.

they came out with a game like this many years ago. almost exactly like this. it was called shattered horizon. it was pretty fun. this looks like an updated version of that

I believe the minimap works like this:
It shows you where you are relative to everything around you in relation to your position and tilt angle. The lines extend towards the point of interest, and then either goes up or down from that circular pinpoint. Up means they're above you, and down means it's under. It's a cool idea of a minimap for a game that lets you rotate like this. I've seen this type of map from somewhere else, but can't quite recall where
Elite dangerous I believe
From what ive seen, this game is madly cool. The concepts cool, the graphics cool, the world and character design is cool. Everything looks futuristic and cool. Cool.

I'm glad they didn't go for the midwit "there's no sound in space" position because there absolutely *is* sound in space. It just doesn't work the same as in atmosphere.

You didn't have to lead your shots because bullets don't lose velocity in space and don't have bullet drop so if you shot a gun in space the bullet would go until it hit something

This is the spiritual successor to a game called "Shattered Horizon" which released in 2009.

This game deserves more players
The radar is based on the original Elite for the BBC Micro 32k. Anything with a "block" or icon and a line going up, is below you. If the line is tall with the block on top, it's above you.

They should do this again, but make an outer space zoo map where you are defending the zoo elephants and zoo giraffes... all of them are in astronaut animal costumes. There would be pugs in space too.... and there would be rooms where the pugs exercise so they don't get too fat. Yeah... I think this game needs that.

Cool Idea! Looks good. Critiques of breaking immersion: Light adjusting should be more blinding. People should be shooting from black opaque shadows. Movement is very fast. MVP screen.....❤👍
I almost feel like they could benefit from some areas with artificial gravity to help the disorientation and motion sickness, just a middle area you can drop in and out of
