I retired a year ago and decided to resell on Poshmark. I gathered up a bunch of clothes and purses that I no longer wore and before I knew it, I had 300.00. I then started sourcing with that money and now a year later..I am a top seller on Poshmark. If I can do this, so can you!!

Corrina, This is kinda where I'm at. I left dentistry after 40 yrs. not going back. Want to finally be my own boss. I love shopping and thrifting for the past 3 decades for myself as my therapy.
I am not that savvy on the computer which is the ONLY thing that I'm concerned about... the rest I am confident. Finding Kat was a blessing because she reminds me of me and that's comforting actually. She appears to be the real deal type of gal so I'm following her lead as much as I can with all her videos. I have been doing this for several years now, and I have my own model I go by. I honestly don't want to ship 20-30 items each day, so I decided to go a different route. I have become very picky, and spend a lot of time out searching. I primarily look for more valuable items (an example is vintage electronic). I do buy some clothing and other items of lesser value, but these typically have to be fast sellers. I started this method about six months ago. It is really kicking in. I may only sell a 2-10 items a day, but the profit is quite a bit higher than if I was shipping 30 items that sold for $10. There was a period earlier this summer where I would go a day or two without selling anything, but then I would have multiple good days. I expect this 4th quarter is going to be crazy for me.

Great video. I am new to Ebay and I really like it. I've sold 8 items. It took me about a month before I started selling. My store only has around 12 items at a time, it is trying different items and seeing what sells and what doesn't, or deleting the item and re-listing it, maybe if it's multiple items, delete, re-list and split the items up. It's fun to try different ways.

Having a CZcams channel is hard work, reselling is hard work. My CZcams videos suck up at least 4 hours per week. It's gratifying but time consuming. Nothing is free and discipline is everything. I so agree with all of it. I probably will never get to 15-20 a day since I also have a vintage/antique store and two antique booths but I do dedicate to listing 4 days a week with a minimum of 6 per day. I have an employee that lists the other 3 days. My goal though is to get to 10 per day. I have learned so much from you, thanks and I will pass as much as possible to my viewers as well with credit to you!

I couldn’t agree more sales drop off unless I list daily In most cases. Consistency is key and staying on top of it. It really doesn’t take much time to do 5 or even 10 a day, maybe an hour including listing so anyone can do it! Even if someone is quicker or slower it can be done as a base minimum. But adding in one extra listing per day per week with momentum helps in time! Slowly growing feels easier than burning out if you have a regular job and other family stuff going on.

Couldn't agree more with all of these! While I could be considered a procrastinator in regards to selling (I haven't started yet) I recognize I don't currently have sufficient time to dedicate to a business. I'm nearly 60 and retirement is around the corner and this will be my ideal retirement job - in the meantime I'm enjoying the hunt, selectively increasing inventory, gaining knowledge with CZcamsrs like you. And looking forward to the day's ahead when I can spend entire days taking pics, listing and the best part - sourcing! I recognize this future will not be an easy one - but I love taking pics, researching and I used to be a newspaper writer - so 'headlines' are a forte'! I'm a positive person - not a complainer and I'm not afraid of hard work! I think knowing this won't be my bread and butter to begin and I'll have my retirement income will be the safety net I need to be a future success! Thanks for all your wonderful knowledge!

I started reselling about 3 or 4 yrs ago but very casual. I started with selling my boys old clothes, toys and books and video games. Video games sell really fast. I didnt really start to get serious about it until last November. Since then I've made about $4000 on ebay while working full time. It definitely can be done if you put your mind to it. I look forward to growing my sales even more this year.

Procrastination is a childhood trauma symptom (none of us have no trauma from childhood Js) but if you are reading Hill’s T&GR-you are growing self and on a personal development path. A path which we self-reflect and mature, which in turn, helps us rewire our negative programming and overcome, or even learn to work with, our childhood traumas. Without it, procrastination can be a real barrier to our lives and our desires. Unconsciously, that is.
    Kudos to you!

Another thing I do if sales are slow and there's not a lot of money to thrift. I "look for the gifts". I will go with $10.00 and look for the magic low cost items that will bring the biggest profit. It can feel like a fun game. Look for free stuff. Even if you just find a free cardboard box that is good to ship in. Look for the little ways the Universe sends you her gifts....

Think and Grow Rich is one of my favorite books !!! That and Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude by W Clement Stone, were our text books when I went through training to become an insurance dealer. Our company was considered the salesman's university because of their excellent training concerning how to be successful. If you worked for Combined Insurance of America back in the day, and for any reason left the company, you were inundated by requests by other companies for you to come and work for them, because of your training.

Oh sorry Kat. One thing I forgot to add to my overly long comment is something I would add to your list. I think that one reason some people (I'm thinking of myself here but know I'm not alone) do not have the disposition to work in what is basically a very solitary pursuit. You are your own boss and unless you are highly successful and can hire help, you do everything alone and spend large portions of time on your own. As people know, following Covid isolation, being alone in your house for the greater part of every day can be daunting in and of itself. Some people may be lucky enough to have a spouse or partner who will help out with shipping etc but for most, you are sailing your own ship and that kind of isolation does not work for every kind of personality. I know I do more during the half of the week that my 15 year old daughter is in the home just because there is someone else around. I think it is an important thing to consider if you are going to go into re-selling as a sole trader in the literal sense. 🙂

    Encouraging others whether in reselling
Or ones mental/ physical health is big part of nursing. You come by it naturally wanting success in all ways for others. My opinion
the best nurses aren't just science smart Kat its people like you encouraging others in helping themselves succeed like you have. It helps improve ones well being by elevating self esteem security & self care becoming more financially stable.
At the same time recycling used items for others to enjoy & use instead of adding to the glutton of buying new saves precious planet resources.
My opinion you & i just as well make a little more then to add to the big box guy's billions. Onward & upward resellers 👏 we all deserve a bit more share of the pie!

Wonderful content! You told me quite a while back to push through and persevere, and that has kept me going through thick and thin. I haven’t yet gotten listings and sales up where they need to be because I’ve had major life challenges that have necessarily taken up my time, but through all that, I kept listing consistently a minimum of 2 items a day. Meanwhile, I learned how to source cheaply and list higher value items. The learning has been invaluable, and I seem to fare well compared to this traits list. Now the personal challenges have lessened a little, and I feel confident I’m going to build this business up to where I need it to be because I have what it takes. You and your helpful, instructive CZcams content have been a mainstay. Thank you for all you do.

Great idea to pair your thoughts with a great thought leader. I’m working on staying motivated. I need some more accountability. I had a strong listing habit until I let my health get in the way now I’m choosing to get back at it despite the health stuff. It’s important to find balance. I think tracking hours worked and setting a timer and chunks of time for specific activities helps. I can’t watch something while listing. I photograph and put specifics in at the same time. I realize that I should take photos in chunks but I just don’t.
Oh I do build boxes, I built a 30” by 40” box out of free cardboard for a painting I just shipped. Ups wanted $75 to box it up for me of $35 for one of their boxes lol. I was like my package can be ugly if I can save money. I use what I have for supplies.
If you list 5-10 a day you can’t expect more than 2-5 sales a day especially at first.
    Persistence is everything.

      @TheNurseFlipper  Před 2 lety +1

I would try the batches it has made it a ton easier for me. if listing 5-10 a day and new I wouldn't expect 2-5 sales until you hit 500 unless you have really popular items

@@TheNurseFlipper I have about 900 active listings and have been at this part time for about 6 years and get at least a sale or two everyday but I get more when I’m listing new stuff. I tried photographing separate last night before bed and then listed a few this morning and it was much faster like that. I’ve been considering breaking it up like this for ages but just never did, it’s a huge time saver for sure.
