My bloody ancient PowerBooks G4 (yes, I bought 2 of them, back in a day), as rubbish as this Steve Jobs-era laptop is, by the way, have much better keyboards than anything they put out since 2016. Reliablity is almost similar, in different manner (G4s have sleep problems, on my 2 systems both had couple dead pixels right from factory, one had RAM slot failure so bad that it made that slot permanently unusable, the other one had cracked both screen hinges) but Apple's service is still the same, bad.
Honestly, the best Apple laptop I ever owned was the original, plastic MacBook.

I was one of the users of Motorola Dext (MB200), one Motorola's products that has keyboard. I love that so much.
But, the problem with this guy you unboxed is that you can only use the phone with the keyboard opened. If they built a version with a slide or some system that you can use your phone without the keyboard... That will be awesome.

I've had one for a while now; I ordered it on kickstarter on pre-sale. It's got pros and a lot of cons. If you connect it to your cell plan, I have Verizon and it only got 3g and was SUPER slow. Even with Wi-Fi, it's not as quick as a phone. It's definitely got a learning curve because of the set up.

In a world where Smartphones are vying for 80% of your Laptop functionality, actually this might be quite a decent bridge. Would like to give it a go first but have to say liking the concept.
It's a little pricy for just "giving it a go" to me. I like the concept but there are some obvious questions to answer before i use this... Like: how do i use this as a phone? Do i need to flip this up to do ANYTHING?

Not having a camera is a deal-breaker for me. I use it a lot for artwork, reference, and it's a must have, otherwise this would have been my next phone.

No external notifications is a massive flaw. Gotta open it up just to see if you have any notifications.
It has a row of 5 LEDs which can be set for specific events, such as calls, whatsapp notifications etc.

You can hold it either way, the accelerometer triggers speaker and mic on either one side or the other, works on both. Or to be cool use your bluetooth headset.

They're nothing like PDAs. You're remembering palmtops which are still made to this day because they have a large following.
Palmtops ran windows, Microsoft Office and basic games. They were scaled down computers, and they have a large following to this day. So not full circle, just a continuous product line that you haven't seen.
I own two Sony VAIO P Series Lifestyle PC's. They were awesome little computers for their time packed full of high spec features and excellent industrial design! Which Sony would make a modern version of it!!

I actually don't hate this at all, I think it's a pretty serious little device. For the price, the mediatek processor and 4 gigs could have been a little better, but it's not far off from performance of decent smart phones.
I love the keyboard, I think they nailed the keyboard big time, and the front camera didn't make me think it was crap, it seemed competent! This device is an honest contender for anyone that is looking for something small like this, I don't have any problem whatsoever.

I remember when big manufacturers were doing this. I don't know why they stopped. I bought my daughter the epic 4g (the original Samsung galaxy on sprint. I had a tmobile g1 and a g1. I actually really liked the keyboards on these phones and might sport one today if Samsung or HTC would make one again.
