It's wayyy over the top violence on purpose... sure he was hungry and frustrated... but this album isnt meant to be taken serious, and the exaggerations are meant to indicate that... In his own words, when asked what he expected people to think of the album, he said basically if they're being honest with themselves they should be laughing all the way through it... His fan base was kids in any poor area that grew up with a ton of angst because daily life sucked.... so this was a way for HIM to vent but also for his fans to vent... Because yes...Eminem was a goofball... there are video clips off the mic, as it were, of him just having fun... he wasnt just some mad angsty person... Slim Shady was his way of channeling frustration and expelling it.
I absolutely love him as an insane storyteller like in Brain Damage I don't think we'll ever get this again but my god am I holding my hopes up for the new album, I'll take even a fraction of that
