    Call me crazy but mostly I get more performance, sillage and compliments from cheap synthetic fragrance than expensive ones

    • @GrabLifeByDaPoosy
      @GrabLifeByDaPoosy Před 3 lety +10

      I've tried a few expensive fragrances that were highly recommended by reviewers on CZcams and was thoroughly disappointed. I'm convinced they've smelled so many fragrances that are similar that when something different comes along they like it even if it doesn't smell that great. They often speak lowly of mass pleasing scents. That's never made sense to me. If it smells good then it smells good regardless of being synthetic or realistic cheap or expensive.

      @@GrabLifeByDaPoosy Totally agree, I don't get some of the niche snobs that pooh-pooh mass-appealing designer frags, don't get me wrong I like some niche frags but many are just too daring, polarizing, and overpriced. What matters at the end of the day is whether it smells good to you and hopefully not choke other people around you.

      @@lettuce1305 I ordered 5ml decants from DecantX of almost every Parfums de Marly fragrance and I honestly didn't really care for any of them. I know most people will consider this blasphemous lol but there were only about 3 I'd be willing to wear out of over 10 samples. Some smelled horrible. I expected to not like a few but I would've never thought I'd dislike so many of them. I also didn't like any of the Fragrance One samples either. It was quite unexpected considering the amount of hype they receive.

    Smells are subjective, wear what you like, what you think its good on you, wear something that not offensive to your close contact, something that you both can feel good about.

    I rely a lot on reviewers like you whom I respect. I value your opinion and trust that you're not a shill for a fragrance company. That said, I have my own opinion about what I like and don't like and I'm not going to spend money on a fragrance that is "unwearable" even if it is artistic and high quality.

  • @JT-rx1eo
    @JT-rx1eo Před 3 lety +2

    I'm wearing a cheapie that I consider "high quality" right now. Not high quality in terms of ingredient quality, or complexity or anything like that. High quality in terms of my enjoyment of it and what it is. Paul Sebastian Fine Cologne. I love it because it's a fuller, richer, stronger longer lasting classic Old Spice. I love that Spicy Oriental scent DNA. That is why I like CK Obsession for Men, a similar scent DNA. Paul Sebastian Fine Cologne is a simple, linear, pleasant, powdery Spicy Oriental that does things higher priced scents don't do.
    As far as high quality affordable brands generally, Guerlain and Lalique. Absolutely artsy. Lalique Pour Homme lion, Pour Homme Equus, L'Insoumis, Hommage a L'homme. Guerlain Vetiver, Heritage. High quality, artsy, affordable.

    Altho i agree with your overall premise, I disagree with your low price/high price comparison. Craze by Armaf is equally good, if not better, as Pegasus from PDM. Guerlain, likewise. Their vetiver is hard to beat, even by way more pricier offerings. Dare i mention Lalique? I can go on. Point being is price is not indicative of quality of juice, at all.

    Great video and i agree,any fragrance that can be cloned is not the quality that they claim to be,that's why you don't see bortnikoff areej le Doré ensar oud agar aura you don't see them cloned,of course they can clone them especially with these new machines that can give you the formula of any new scent,but it will cost the same so there's no point cloning it.and trust cloning companies that are in the market now they wouldn't be able to get where they are today if their quality wasn't at least the same with the original if not better.

    Narcisso Rodriguez for Him EDT. $50 old-skool MFK joint. Excellent performance. Warning: Very unique and some call it a depressing scent. Think gray and gothy. Great for gloomy, rainy days. More for someone looking to branch off to something more artsy. Definitely not for high-schoolers and definitely not a happy or bright scent. But damn this one is overlooked in the community. Think it might have been discontinued recently too.
