National Institute of Technology Hamirpur is one of the thirty-one NITs of the country, established 7th August 1986 as a Regional Engineering College, a joint and cooperative enterprise of the Govt. of India and Govt. of Himachal Pradesh. As per the NIRF 2022 Rankings, it has been ranked 128th among all engineering colleges in India. In the Top 30 engineering list of India Today-MDRA Best Colleges Ranking 2021, the institute ranks at 18th position.
