Raptor 700 with SILENT Blown Head Gasket

- Megatron is a 2018 Yamaha Raptor 700R SE with a 734 Athena Big Bore and 12.5:1 CP Piston. Megatron has a silent blown head gasket. The gasket blew after running 93 octane pump fuel which caused pre-detonation and eventually caused the gasket to fail. A 12.5:1 compression piston was allegedly the limit for pump fuel, however, in Megatron's cause, it was beyond the limit.
Stay tuned for the next Trump vs Biden Firing Range video coming soon and lots more on QUADNATION! I love you all, even my haters ;) Jesus loves you too! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
If you know someone that rides, please share this video with them! I don't want them to have the same fate as me. I hope you love the videos and thank you for allowing me to entertain you! 🤘😎
How did you get your channel logo. It looks sick
I made it myself in Photoshop. Half MX Half Punisher
had nothing to do with the fuel, you put a cheap cylinder on and a crap gasket.
Been telling people forever.. 11 comp max for pump..... likely will have to mill the cylinder and head .. often it will damage the cases and wipe out the crank in the process...
"The ebay seller said its pump gas safe" ....
I've been watching your channel for a long time and I'm a huge fan of yours, but I'll be honest I don't remember seeing that in your videos. I'm sure you mentioned it while I was watching but I had long forgotten. Can you please do another video going over pump fuel and race fuel. So that way others don't think 12.5:1 is okay.

Rather, the matter will be different if you put a hotcam on your bike or not... because the opening and closing of the valve will change... and therefore the compression ratio will change and will increase with the hotcam...
Mr.Carvoracing usually puts a hotcam on his bikes, so the maximum he can use of the pistons is 11.
As for your Megatron bike, the situation is different because you do not put any hotcam on.. and I think that the problem is with the bad and poor head gasket.
🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑🛑
The other proof is that your bike has not changed at all in its power and maximum speed... when comparing and using pump fuel and Race 110
Finally, you have to install a larger radiator. In order to get rid of the problem of excessive heat produced by the piston 12

And l think Your bike will be fine without the race fuel🟢🟢🟢🟢
I have same compression at sea level and i run 100LL. Way cheaper and works like a dream. Also had issues with going big bore so I finally got the cylinder oringed and used a copper sce gasket. No issues since.
I've been told about the copper gasket and if this one fails then I will go copper 👍
That shows how strong that raptor is even with the head gaske blown that machine continued to run hard an strong. Awesome video man.
Yeah, once I realized how long the head gasket had been blown, I was quite amazed that my crank and everything is held together so perfectly. And that the power is still there.
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL thats why i got this machine i wanted something reliable an fun to ride. An watching your videos definitely helped me make that decision
So is this engine totaled or no, this quad still pushes strong but that head gasket causes damage fast. I don’t want this to be the end of megatron as I love this quad
No, the last few minutes of the video was after the gasket replacement. For now everything seems sound but I fear that I definitely cost the engine some time specifically the crank.
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL okay good I was afraid that I wouldn’t see this quad again
“Biden’s cheap fuel”…. You would say that 😂 …. Sorry to hear about the damage though.
🤣🤣🤣 gotta love it! Thanks! I just hope that this saves somebody else's machine. I'm really curious to know how much damage I may have done to the crank or head. I guess time will tell.
Important🔴, important🔴, important🔴Amigatron‼️Why didn't you measure the compression ratio by installing a pressure gauge on the engine head and then pressing the engine start button for 5 to 7 seconds? Just as you conducted a test on your engine after it had
spent sixty hours of operation. Then l suggest that you install the Stage 3 cam and check the pressure again... If the pressure decreases due to the cam, this is a good indicator of the use of the fuel pump...
Then compare the 3 measurements that you took the first time, then after installing 12.5, and then after installing the Stage 3
cam.
hey man, unrelated question! i’ve got alba +2 a arms, and rear 2” wheels spacers. i ride just trails and roads. but sometimes the trails are rough. i really want to lower my quad with lowering links but i’ve heard mixed opinions. will lowering link not be a good idea for trail riding?
If you dont get an answer i recommend joining raptor fourms an asking they know there stuff
In my opinion, no. Because the pivot of the swing arm is at such a high angle from the factory, when I put the lowering links on and lowered my quad, I only lost about an inch of overall ground clearance. But yet I dropped the seat height of the quad by 3 in. Also, unless you're racing it on an MX track, the lower links have held up to the abuse of the trails and small jumps.
That too.. Tons of information on there
Man I have the utmost confidence in my Raptor, reason being…dude you beat your quad down and she has ran like a charm. I have 2021 bolt on raptor so hoping my girl will continue to run strong for me.
Keep the videos coming bro!!
Hell yeah!!! Glad I was able to show you some insight as to the durability of these quads.
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL how many hours you have on your quad? How many would you estimate since you cracked open and bored the engine over??
@@jo03rsxs I've had an hour meter on it from the very beginning. It was stuck until 50 hours when I put the big three on. Then I went to 300 hours and added the big bore. The stock cylinder was pristine. Rings were still perfect. I've had the big bore for about 50 hours. So total 350 hours on stock crank. But I religiously change my oil every 20 hours.
Man that bike is wide
I increased the width by 2.5 inches on each side with the Alba A-arms.
Hes im 14 5'7 and i dont have a lot of money but im looking for something around a 125 dirtbike but idk what to get. What is a good option $1200 max
125 Apollo big wheel model
You should write the white house and ask for a bailout to buy a new motor. They are giving out money so fast they won't even care what it's for 🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣 LMAO!! Thanks for the laugh brother!! I'm about to take delivery of a new ATV that was part of a bribe from a huge democrat donor to cease any further Trump versus Biden videos 🤣🤣 You'll see it soon!
Would anyone know how to make my Honda 450r trx kickstart into a electric start? I can't seem to find a video on how to
I'm not sure, sorry.
my polaris predator has the same issue. i just got a new headgasket in the mail, time to fix it >:)
update lol, didnt realize it had a +6mm overbore at the time. put a 99mm head gasket in a 105mm cylinder. blew it again almost instantly. tried amazon head gasket repair, worked for a few days, but then it dropped a valve and needed a whole new top end. womp womp. shes running again now
Hey, how much ride time do you get off a tank of the 110 fuel
About 2 hrs
@QUADNATION ok appreciate it because I'm doing a build now an it's gonna run on race gas. I just wanted to see if I made a good choice going with the high compression upgrades
The app you were using on your phone for speed?
DigiHud
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL thanks
Wow! Make Megatron great again
🤣🤣🤣 Thanks for the laugh bro!
Can I use 98oct on 12:5:1 piston?
Kinda pretty surprised you didn’t know you can’t run straight pump fuel on anything that high compression.
It's strange if you have a smaller CC engine with a shorter stroke, you can run pump fuel in as high as 14.5 but when it's a longer stroke and a bigger CC ot suddenly requires race fuel lol. I guess mathematically you get much more air compressing causing extreme pressures and pre-ignition.
12.5:1 is too high even on our Middle East 93oct bro. You better runs head studs because over heat is bit common issue
What app do you use for speed
Digihud
yep... my triton 450 hasb een doing this for a year or 2 i stoped using it.. coolant boils and pisses out... or it blows off the hoses...
and then more broke and i gave up on it. and now i just fixed the tension regulator and just found out the swing arm is almost broken off the welds are broken (same swing arm as a suzuki ltz400) so yeah am disapointed i tought yeah fixed it and then i saw the welds and then i saw the cooolant spray every where and i remembered why i stoped using it... F me, i wanted to sel it quick could have sold it for 2k € but spend 120€ on it so yeah now i guess i will fix it take the fucking engine apart, i guess am gonna try coper gasket spray cause a headgasket for this quad is 70€ and on back order....
i just ride my banshee now atleast that thing works always (also might need a next gasket cause i reused the old one)
Sounds like you have the same issue. I would replace the head gasket and then go from there. I hope this video was able to help you out.
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL yeha sucks doh it runs but yeah boiling coolant aint good+ wet legs is anoying....
jsut sucks u have to take the top end of the engine off again its a big job not hard but just alot of time, i guess i will see when i get ot it. probably first weld the swingarm, then see how i feel about fixing the rest or sell it, so many projects that i havent started
Great video bro!
Thank you Dune! 🤘😎
