How Armin stays in character perfectly is brilliant.
The man is the ultimate actor's actor. That's why they made him SGA president a bunch of times or something.
Attack On Titan
The fact that they kept going instead of cracking up.... MASTERFUL!
The GENIUS of this blooper is ... it plays out word-for-word like the real scene up until that twist. LOVE it!
lol that's because it IS the real scene up until that twist you dodo
Virgin and chad
Muito legal
This isn't a "blooper", It's an outake.
They edited the blooper shot into the actual scene. It's the same shots as the actual scene until the twist, then a single shot where they did that twist for fun. They "flubbed" the take of that shot immediately when the camera started rolling.
How Armin Shimerman and Nana Visitor held it together so long I'll never know.
Did not see that coming god that was awesome 👏🏻!!! R.I.P. René Auberjonois
I didn't know....how sad.

They have to release this on HD.
or what?
@@willowfrog33 We can begin with Lakarian City..
@@cgavin1 you sick bastard
I’d even settle for them just releasing DS9 in HD 🤷♂️

As a huge DS9 fan, I've never seen this before until just now and this raised my eye! LMAO :)
Same here! 😁
Same here.
I think that DS:9 was the best series of all the iterations, IMHO. I enjoyed the strong characters, the individual episodes within the overarching narrative and the fact that it hit the ground running. ST:TNG was good overall but it took a season to get going.
I so needed this. Dad passed away 5/15/22. He loved DS9
My condolences. May he rest in peace.
😢
It's a crying shame there can never be a reunion of the characters. I see Odo returning to DS9, now cemented as a Founder after bringing about a few changes. He walks into Quark's.
"I see little has changed in my absence. Except perhaps a more lax attitude to security." Quark stands incredulous.
"No, how do you do Quark, it's good to see you again. How's the family? I'll have you know..." Odo raises a palm.
"That your Brother Rom has given you quite a considerable concession from the FCA and you have opened a franchise. Yes I know. Nepotism is a funny thing isn't it Quark."
"Wait you've been gone for over 20 years and you still checked up on me? I'm... Touched." Odo leans on the bar.
"Don't flatter yourself. The Dominion keeps quite a file on you. The reports are extensive." Quark grins.
"Ah I never considered that. Still. You read those reports. Extensively." Odo hurumps and turns to leave.
"Odo. It... Was good to see you."
Odo turns and his stoic frown softens into a smile. He nods and departs the bar without a word.
I love that! 🙏 Thank you!
@@eeaotly I'm glad you liked it. I kick Star Trek stories around in my head, sometimes, somethings fall out.
But that's part of the brilliance of DS9 - there were never going to be any movies; there should be no continuation. It stands alone for the seven seasons that ran in the 90s and should not be added to or revived. I do fear that the unoriginal parasite hacks that run the "Trek Franchise" now wouldn't try and screw up just another part of the legacy they inherited from folks like Roddenberry, Berman, Pillar and Behr.
If you look back and then go to the point where Odo tells Nerys he’s going back to the Great Link, as well as how he decides that, it might make you wonder if something more may have been going on. I personally believe saving his people from their own hate and fear was Odo’s destiny, that the Great Link created Odo to eventually end the very manifestation of their fear and anger, the Dominion, using his own personal experiences among ‘solids’, thus saving his kin from themselves. He may have realized this destiny of his after linking with the Female Changeling and convincing her to surrender as an individual. It’s a hope, however, that Odo was able to retain what made him him before returning home.
@joegrimes9232 That was wonderful! Thanks for sharing!!
They were one of the best "will they or won't they?" couples in television history.
who? Quark and Odo?
*Garak and Bashir clear their throat*
Yes
up there with garak and bashir
Will they or won't they what?
It's just a bit of dust in my eye.
Y'all had to admit, you did not see that coming from a long mile. Now all those fanfic writers will have enough fuel to start their imaginations for a long time to come. 😂
😆Oh lordy, don't give them any more ideas, please!
Wait... Too late!🤣😂🤣
They should have kept that in.
Wow, Nana has such chops to stay in character as much as she is. She's on the edge of losing it, but still there. LOL
Did NOT expect that, lmao.
I’ve seen that scene so many times over the years…I just didn’t see that coming…Armin and René were hilarious and quite brilliant. If Nana knew it was coming you couldn’t tell. Great performance by all of them.
I don't think she knew, you can see her trying her best not to laugh at the end
@@axl9951 Yeah, I agree. It just shows you how much rapport Armin and René have together in pulling off the blooper with such brilliant timing. What’s also evident is Nana’s professionalism in trying to keep a straight face and her generosity of spirit in letting the blooper play out.
This ship is as canon as Garak and Bashir.
I feel like I saw somewhere that a couple of the writers said garak was meant to be in love with Bashir all along
@@s3nsec0rruptr80 Andrew and Alexander played the two characters like they were madly in love as much as possible, and the writers did try to make it more canon. In response Rick berman forced the team to stop writing bashir and garak together in scenes and even went as far as to stop the two actors for bringing this up during fan conventions
@@genderender What you just said is complete nonsense. Bashir was never in any way intended to be romantically interested in Garak. Andrew years and years later *claims* he played Garak as in love with Bashir, but there is no actual indication of this anywhere (his behavior does not line up with how he actually behaves when romantically interested in someone, such as with Ziyal) and flies in the face of earlier statements. There was no ban on it 'coming up in conventions', and they did not stop writing scenes between Bashir and Garak because the actors were trying to make it gay. If you'd *like* to see what it looks like when the actors are trying to make a ship happen, go watch Farscape, where Ben Browder and Claudia Black kept trying to make John/Aeryn a thing until it finally happened. You'll note the actors are consistent in their stories talking about how they behaved and tried to get it to happen, as well, instead of only bringing it up years and years later when it became popular to do so.
@@Thedarkbunnyrabbit Berman and Braga banned writing about queer relationships and experiences. This is well known
@@genderender Lol no they didn't
I can't believe I've only just seen this today!!! Thank you, and RIP Rene
So odo does have a sense of humor
That is awesome! love ya Rene
I laughed so hard my gut hurt!
I love and miss this show! 😁🤣 And so glad that they did something like this and it got preserved!
This was totally awesome! Thank you so much for sharing!
He has nothing to say, just one thing to do.
They really did love each other :)
Why are DS9 bloopers so hard to come by?? I can find TNG and Enterprise bloopers, but the DS9 ones were never released outside of panels for the documentary?
Because they never supported DS9 properly at the time. It did very poorly in the 90s, because long story arcs just weren't the done thing back then. People watched star trek when it was syndicated, with episodes out of order, and people not faithfully watching it every single week, just dropping into it every so often. DS9 invented modern television, but it was too ahead of its time. Everyone hated it back then because you had to watch every episode to understand what was going on. You couldn't just drop in and watch a handful of episodes every so often like you could with TNG and VOY
These days however, the series is getting the love it deserves, because it's absolutely PERFECT for the modern style of TV, where people stream TV episodes, and binge whole seasons of shows in a couple of days. DS9 is finally after all this time getting the credit it deserves. We wouldn't have things like Breaking Bad and the Sopranos, if it weren't for DS9
But yeah it means that at the time, they didn't spend time and money saving funny bloopers, because it wasn't a popular show back then. TNG was very popular, so it made sense to keep hold of the bloopers for potential home video releases, or for some future format that had far more space on it (which turned out to be DVD)
It's really sad. I hope the few bloopers that do still exist are released some day. Though even these days, DS9 is seen as a kind of black sheep of the franchise
Probably the same reason it didn't get a Blu-Ray release - I guess TOS and TNG didn't do well enough for the studios to want to do it for DS9. The process of cleaning it all up is pretty intense, and that's how the majority of TNG bloopers are around, from the Blu-Rays.
Other than this (which was brought to light by the documentary going back to re-scan another scene from that episode in high definitely), I’ve only seen the few each of DS9 and Voyager bloopers that were in maybe a three min (tops) blooper reel for Trek’s 30th anniversary celebration, aired around the DS9 and Voyager celebratory episodes (Trials and Tribble-ations and Flashback, respectively). TPTB were against Trek bloopers seeing the light of day because it was a serious franchise. 😭
well, it may not have made the edit, but it did make my day.
Odo was always such a Chad .
Wow, DS9 is sure different than I remember!
If Paramount weren't cowards, they would've left this in.
That was amazing I am so glad I got to see that they were both a great double act
Thank you for sharing this!
Aaaaaah 😆 thank you algorithm for showing me this!
Priceless!!!!!!
I’m declaring this canon.
LmAo! My jaw literally dropped, definitely wasn't expecting that pff
They need to make a cut with this remastered into it
Odo: “you turn me into goo, Quark”
Quark: “I’m all ears”
:D thank you for sharing :D
One of the best shows ever made 🌌💟
Genius, kudos to all 3
He shoulda pulled the Ace rimmer
*Gets kissed*
"What a guy!"
Brilliant!
Headcanoned.
Hillarious !! Ds9 is the best
It's a pity this one ending wasn't allowed at the time, because it's much more surprising and more important. Odo doesn't have anything to say, because actions are louder, it's incredible how they remained in character after the Kiss 😅
Love. Wow. Odo did love Quark. It's a great closure for then. I really got to like those characters, like at first I had a bad opinion of Ferengi characters and their depiction, and ds9 showed the diverse Ferengi ppl, not everyone goes for profit and adquisición
Didn’t see that coming 😂😂😂
The caliper of acting in that show is amazing
Amazing
NIIIIICE :D
(kisses)
"How was that?"
"...Wet."
Very interesting to see
Gold
DS9 *always* knew that was what the fans really wanted. Now we have our closure.
Did not expectttt
They said Quodo RIGHTS
PERFECT!!! LMFAO!
I fucking died lol
Omgosh 😳😂
“Kiss me you big eared fool”
best way to end the show lmao
Like oil and vinegar 🤣
How did this just now show up in my recommend?
they canonized it!
Oh my 🥴
I might look up the exact definition of "blooper" to see if something deliberate like this qualifies. I'd probably call it a throwaway take or a prank. ;-)
The term you're looking for is "alternative ending"
They should have left that part in! :)
Nana looked away, she was developing Bill Hader Syndrome.
What does Kira's actor say at the end? Can barely make it out
I think “it’s going to be deleted, no use *something*” overlapped by Armin’s “no” and returning to where he stands to start the next take? My other guess is something about “just going (or time?) to leave, *something*.” It’s hard to make out well!
@@TrekPanels hard to make out well? Looked like Rene and Armin were making out VERY well!! :D
"He's not going to leave. He's going to go with you."
@@allylanden7765 omg that fits perfectly, well done!
@@funkiboi7807 Well, as Weyoun would say, "weak eyes, good ears." Glad to be of help.
Hah. No idea this one existed before
Even better than Death Trap.
What do Nana and Armin say there at the end? It's hard to hear them over thr crowd
As best I can make out (no pun intended 🤣):
Nana: "It's going to be deleted, no use
[unintelligible]"
Armin: "No"
As they return to position to start the next take.
@@TrekPanels do you know what else they're saying at the end, after the kiss? It's really hard to understand (I'm not a native speaker).
I can hear Armin say
"[...] he loves me"
"don't you see, it's written all over his.. his back"
but the rest I can't really understand.
😂😂😂❤
Ds9 is my favorite out of all of them, I would love a reunion but would never be the same without Odo or Jadzia, I never warmed up to "Ezri" Dax
I didn't t either. But hey, DS9 reunion (sorta) in season 3 of Picard though.
Thats canon for me now
😭😭🤣🤣🤣🤣 it was written all over his Back 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
lmao
Is there a place to see this that isn’t being taped with a video camera?
No, take what you can get. 🤷🏻♀️ This was shown at a few convention panels promoting the DS9 documentary, but wasn’t included in the bonus documentary footage on DVD/Blu-Ray, or the few early DS9 bloopers released with some others for a major Trek anniversary special. If you ever find the clean footage, I’d love a link, though!
🤣
I couldn't understand what Kira said at the end. What was it?
Her line to Quark after the kiss was “don’t take it hard, Quark.” [To the goodbye, sans-kiss, that had been scripted.] Then Armin/Quark gives his next scripted line, with somewhat different inflection and pauses 😂. After that, she said something about how it’s going to be deleted, no point in [garbled but presumably about no reason for her to follow Rene/Odo, as scripted] because they were going to need to reset the scene to film it again anyway.
😆🤣😆🤣😆🤣😆😆😆😆🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Somehow I knew that was coming just from the title.
Did not make it any less funny.
Brilliant! I appreciate the show now more than I did back then. Have any of you guys seen the rubbish ‘we’ve got now’ …?
I wonder if any Odo/Quark slashfics were inspired by that blooper😉😁?
I don’t think it saw the light of day, at least publicly, until the DS9 documentary promotion a few years back - so probably not, both were likely just inspired by their relationship as written. 😂
OMFG were they French kissing???
And all the Quark/Odo shippers go wild.
Where the hell was this recorded ??
The clip was shown during the Star Trek DS9: What We Left Behind documentary panels at some 2019 conventions.
Canon.
And here I thought Kirk kissing Uhura was controversial.
When neither should have been! (Though Odo/Quark could be controversial among DS9 fans for reasons other than gender and race, lol.)
@@TrekPanels I couldn't agree more. Interesting fact: The Kirk/Uhura kiss scene was filmed with and without the kiss. William Shatner intentionally screwed up all the non-kissing takes forcing them to use the kissing one in the actual episode. Needless to say, this did not go over well in the South back in 1968. Also, did Odo actually have a gender? 🖖🏼
The missing story... Odo... Wasnt gay but he wasnt really sexually to begin with
if he can have a romantic subplot with Kira he can have one with quark
this is canon now
🤣🤣🤣 Acting🗿🤣🤣🤣
The sexual tension was so obvious. Garak and Bashir ha! Quark and Odo more like! 🤣
