I remember playing on the playground in elementary school & seeing tiny reddish stones that I called garnets. I’ve always loved rocks!
♥️ This brings back memories for me too - we used to pick up rocks and fossils, then bring them home to “scrub up”!
Oh my gosh, your garnet pieces are spectacular. Thank you for showing them. Garnet is my birthstone so I enjoyed learning more about it.
I just finished binge watching most of your videos. How serendipitous that my binge should end on Bohemian garnet jewelry, one of my favorites! I so enjoy the historic, educational nature of all of your videos. Yours is one of my new favorite channels. Thank you for the wonderful content.
Thank you so much, Crystal Kelley! Your kind words have brightened my day! 💖
I love garnet! I bought a single stone oval garnet ring. I lost it but have never forgotten the feeling I had when I wore it. I hope to replace it one day!
❤️ Hi Trina! There is something magical about it, isn't there? Jewelry karma has a way of replacing the pieces that leave us - I'm sure there is something special in your future!
Your beloved bracelet 😍 Always great content Jen ❤️
I always say an educated Buyer-Collector is a happy person!
I am a beginner hobby gemcutter in Canada. I love garnet and the Bohemian Garnet jewelry from Prague is inspirational. I'd like to learn how to cut the stones in similar ways and saved lots of smaller pyrope garnet. I gained a bit more insight here. Thanks so much for sharing the info and your beautiful pieces.
Welcome to the channel! What a fabulous hobby, I am glad the video was helpful! ❤
What a beautiful collection you have Jenn. Thankyou for sharing all this information, very interesting. Have a great week and take care! 🤗 🥰✌️
1. I think I love your channel
2. We, people of Bohemia, we call our garnets "Czech garnets" :-)
Hello Jana - thank you so much for your thoughtful comment! ❤ I had not considered what they would be called by the people of Bohemia - and I am so glad that you told me this!

How did I miss commenting on this video? After I watched it I went and pulled out all my garnet pieces, then went and started browsing for more garnet. Luckily my oldest is a January baby and I justify collecting for his birthstone. Magnificent information again, thank you for educating us all!
Garnet has this effect, doesn't it?! It's a beautiful stone - and I think you are entirely justified to collect! 😘
Fantastic video , very informative. You have some beautiful pieces 😍
Good morning ❤️
Thank you Sundae i’m really curious we have garnets come out of the stikine river in southeast Alaska and they are almost a half an inch big. I’d love to send you a picture of one. This way maybe you can help me address what type of Garnet. Healing properties, absolutely, Alaska is a very special place.
Much love from the north
Hi Colleen, I’d love to see a photo! I’ll see what I can find about the garnet found regionally too. My email address is sundaebaubles AT gmail DOT com ♥️
How can we test for low carat gold vs something like tombac? I haven't been able to find a gold testing acid kit that would be able to do it and dont have access to a XRF Spectrometer, thanks
Hello @jkdw - I think a video I recently posted may help - the tests are more invasive/destructive, but it's possible to test at home. A direct link: czcams.com/users/live34Umyfz-Wv8

Thank you so much for covering Bohemian garnets. Great information and such a treat to see your beautiful pieces. The eternity band is particularly lovely. I think my heart may have stopped for a second when you showed the large bracelet. And not pyrope, but the Victorian brooch is stunning. Amazing that one piece could incorporate so many design elements -- swoops and swags and drops and studs and more -- and still be so graceful.
Thank you so much for watching and commenting! Garnets really are magical ❤️
