What a great DJ with an amazing knowledge of the music industry who played all genres without being bullied by the musically correct BBC - a charming man too who had time for everyone - a great loss
First peel show I ever recorded was on a small cassette recorder. Two fingers down job , then pause when he starts speaking. Never could get a seamless track back to back recording but as time went on and retrospectively the sessions were better when he spoke over the tracks. I was in my aunts flat in Notting Hill Gate. Must of been 1978 , can’t recall. But I do remember it was a siouxsie and the banshees session ( join hands period) and an Angelic upstarts session. If you know the recording and have it be happy to know about it. Thanks again. Cracking session this one. 🙏
@@asliceofry8735 10:30 at night, I bet your neighbours love you. :) Then again, if I was your neighbour, I would love you, ask you to turn it up. I have all my punk/crust and hardcore on vinyl too, unfortunately my turntable's kaput, I'm quite content listening to old Peely broadcasts courtesy of this kind uploader here. Such great memories of 80s hardcore all-dayers for £4 for 11-12 bands. Good times.
@@gavinbuck8130 Got to educate your neighbours. Get yourself a new turntable, I have an audio technica and it's done me proud. I've been tired has kept my love of Peel going. Loved the 'pay no more than' punk ethos.
