Would and should be a lot more subscribers. You are one of the most innovative guys on CZcams. I know you’ve been a part time CZcams guy but I’ve always enjoyed your creations and community you helped build
He's gonna have more subscribes I'm sure about that just need more time he has creative innovative content which is needed well done I enjoy this kind of your videos I wish have your innovation very smart guy keep going impressive.
I literally just finished my MintyPi build last night... and now this... Is this what drug addicts feel like? :) I LOVE this design! Well done Ampersand and nice customization, Wermy! It's stuff like this that drew me into this community. Love the new space, too! I hope you continue to get more and more support. 5/5 stars!
a great video, to be fair i wouldn't expect any less from you. Even though I have a game boy Pi and other Pi based constructions i still think there is a place for a Null in my life.
it's good to see you back. When you get a chance I emailed you and helder a Mintypi issue I have. Please let me know the plan of attack so I can finish my build. Thank you
I’ve not long been having a look at this kit and love what you have done with the design. Of course with less ‘cnc’ tools, I think the options for customisation might be lower. I have a 3d printer so that’s probably where I’d look at making new colourways or customisations. Wonder if this acrylic case design might lend itself to a vinyl wrap sticker on the front an rear, (think digital camo or coloured carbon fibre)☺️👌 what do you think?
i like that you get the option between tactile and membrane switches, as I prefer the tactile switches over membrane ( no hate on membrane, just preference ) overall, looks super good! I’ll need to check it out more
This looks like the LDK Landscape. Pi Zero is not supreme only for old Retro Games works fine :D Thanks for sharing, I love these mini projects and handhelds.
DONT FORGET! 10:14 ⚠⚠ The wood spacers for the back acrylic case, goes/glues on the smooth surface of the acrylic(not on the engraved logo side) and the engraved logo faces outside of the console. Don't make the same mistake as I did. DOUBLE CHECK FIRST. Once you glue it on and leave it on for like a half an hour or more, you cannot fix it or disassemble it/take it apart and you should order new case and start all over again. And if you're like from abroad and not living in UK, your order will take another month or 2.
So the usb-c charging board is non-compliant with the standard? Would love to see a charging board that will work with all of my existing chargers... It's crazy how many projects have non-complaint usb-c. Raspberry pi... nintendo switch... etc etc
Man having the availability to have parts cut out of different materials like that makes me wonder what a carbon fiber/ aluminum version would look. Do the typical aftermarket gameboy buttons fit dimension wise?
I would personally really appreciate it if you added a link to the 3d printable versions of the case on the webpage linked in your description. I know someone with a 3d printer, but someone with a laser cutter is a lot harder to find. (Though, I will admit it looks cooler with the clear acrylic\wood, sometimes cost is a factor)
Hello very good job. Is there a plan to make the case where there will be 6 buttons to control the SEGA GENESIS, and shifty like PS gamepads. I would like to see such a combine.
With seven 3D printers, if you could only have one, which one would you choose? And which would you recommend for hobby makers who would like to try building gaming handheld devices?
Jens Roland depends on your budget. A good solid one for a medium price range is the Prusa i3 Mk3s. A nice high range is a lulzbot or a ulitmaker. For budget ones, get an ender 3 or a Cr 10. Hope I could help
Can't wait to see the new space! Super happy you're taking your time and doing quality over quantity. Plus I'm subscribed to Jontron so I don't mind waiting haha
5th, Is the minty pie ever going to have joy sticks like the 3ds? Would like to have some joy sticks on one, but have no idea how to do that personally.
Well it's a retro console though, so it can only play up to the gameboy advance... theres really no need to add joysticks. If you really have your heart set on it though, you would have to remake the pcb.
Is there any model of this that uses the compute module 3 or 3+? I hate the gameboy feel and the next best would be the advanced. If this PSPi style is available in the CM3+ that would be perfect.
Ok, I have an idea. To make a c64 mini. Now, I have a wireless usb keyboard, a screen, a rapsberry pi zw,, and a printer to print parts. Now, how do I charge it and power it. Battery wise and stuff.
If you’re in the states how long does delivery take usually from tindie? I see that’s he’s in the UK so I was hoping no longer than a week but not sure.
There's another similar item on Tindie.com called Picicle Kit. It's in stock, however it ships from Russia, so I'm not sure how much longer the shipping will take.
I asked you on twitter, I dunno if you saw the tweet cause I sent it super late at night, but is there a way to get a Pi to be able to use a gameboy cartridge reader?
Join the discord, there are a couple of people willing to solder the parts for you so all you have to do is put it together. Most people charge about 40$ for the service though, so it's a bit pricey
Just a random question, isn't it worth to make a review video of the peanut? Or at least one showing how it works This is literally the first video I saw about it and it only appears some seconds
@@fourteevee 60hz is way more common. It's likely that the slowdown mentioned in the video is caused by (if not exacerbated by) the screen. Damn near every old game I love runs at 60hz so using this as is would be a disaster tbh.
Hi i wanna build a hand game that can play psp cames gameboy games possible all games that came out on all hand game devices what would i need to do that and can you make one i would like to see what you would come up with
Well the pi zero actually CAN'T run SNES games well in off, most of all special chip SNES games. I will say it's good for mega drive/ sega CD and below, not 32x.
The shoulder buttons aren't the best, and only 2+ hours of battery life? I'd hope there's a much bigger MaH battery available, as for me, That's terrible. Gonna need at least 5+ hours, for realistic use, road trips, long car rides, I'd rather have a device that has 5+ hours of battery life, so I don't need to carry a spare cable or power bank with me, just so I can play games.
That button idea is RAD. I might have to build one
Love love love love love!!!! Glad you were able to move into a bigger workspace!

Thats a pretty cool diy console! Techy yet classy with the wood.
Your workshop is incredible. And yes giveaways are awesome.
Totally Baller build my friend. Love the ingenuity.
Sweet! i have my kit sitting around until i get a better soldering iron. i also just ordered the acrylic case from your site, thanks.
Outstanding!
Love the metroid section 🤩
This video is really good. I love these mini retro handsets. You are so close to 100k subs!
Looks great

You did a great job. I like carbon fiber and think it would look cool.
Very nice
Third. Proud. Looks like a fabulous handheld.
no im third
Actually, I'm 3rd.
I’m the third to reply to this

Kitty approved! Haha, congrats on 100k. I've been watching for about almost 2 years, just became a sub also... sorry took a bit. Haha
More videos and projects?? HEll YEAH!!!
I can't wait for PSP emulation to improve on Retropie
I want to buy one so bad!

Not really, but there is a 3D printable version that works with DS Lite buttons. There's actually a bunch of different case versions available.
Id buy if they had it in matt black
A giveaway from wermy? Sign me up
Btw... Anyone EVER talked about the 2 Minute of booting time for RetroPie!?
THIS IS JUST PAIN FOR A HANDHELD.
Just to let you ppl know :D
Wow that's long. Even the bittboy pocketgo starts in less than 10 seconds
100k giveaway you do, shooting for a million you are 😁
Looking forward to getting my case from you. I'm thinking about using a blue stain on the wood. How are those buttons holding up?
Still waiting for someone to make one with a clam shell. Like GBA SP.
How well did the glue on the buttons hold up? Very nice build!
cool shirt :-)

wermy is also selling the acrylic as he mentioned.

That NES Controler Layout on That Wall is awesome. 3D printed?
Yep, model is on thingiverse. :)
I wish I could show this video to Hank Hill
i just want to buy one already built :'( to busy with life to do all the work lol
You can be a gamer. Then you will not have a life😉
@@nejczagozen4217 yeah but i i like money to buy fun stuff like a pickup and a suv and house and pool and such so i dunno kinda wanna keep working

How would you close the tin with a joystick there? And as mentioned the consoles it emulates does not really need it.

which laser cutter you have?
would this be possible with 2 batteries? I would much prefer having a 8-10+ hours device
If you’re in the states how long does delivery take usually from tindie? I see that’s he’s in the UK so I was hoping no longer than a week but not sure.
Anyone know where I can get the battery
Take my money 💰!
when are the buttons and screw sets shipping???
Should be catching up in the next couple days.
0:38 I thougt my phone died on me.
can this hold bigger battery, or it needs modifications?
There's a 3D printable version that can hold a 1800mAh battery.
There's another similar item on Tindie.com called Picicle Kit. It's in stock, however it ships from Russia, so I'm not sure how much longer the shipping will take.
It would be fckin aaaaawesome if u can make letters on the buttons.
Great job man
I asked you on twitter, I dunno if you saw the tweet cause I sent it super late at night, but is there a way to get a Pi to be able to use a gameboy cartridge reader?
I believe his original gameboy zero videos has a video of setting up a reader to work with the sd card slot of the pi
Ugh so i must have soldered Out+ to B+ on my blue board, will that completely screw up the build or is that okay?
Turned out, it was fine :D
Question do you ever plan on selling pre made mintypi because I personally have never soldered anything and I really want to get a mintypi.
same
Join the discord, there are a couple of people willing to solder the parts for you so all you have to do is put it together. Most people charge about 40$ for the service though, so it's a bit pricey
I'd sell my version 1. Fun to build but with my old eyes it's a bit small for me to see!
Myself and Will from the forums/Discord offer soldering services or even complete builds.
Going to be having a few up on my site in a few weeks by the end of the preorder run
3d printing the case is much easier for it is just two parts
Yep, files for different cases are on the site
Any chance someone knows what kind of laser he got???
It’s a Glowforge, I think he shows it in the video.
Just a random question, isn't it worth to make a review video of the peanut? Or at least one showing how it works
This is literally the first video I saw about it and it only appears some seconds
if the display is 30-40 fps does that mean there will be a lot of screen tearing? most games run on 60
I'm fairly sure most retro games run at 30
@@fourteevee 60hz is way more common. It's likely that the slowdown mentioned in the video is caused by (if not exacerbated by) the screen. Damn near every old game I love runs at 60hz so using this as is would be a disaster tbh.
i wish the battery was larger and it had hdmi out
thejackofclubs there are multiple versions of the case, two of the 3D printable ones allow for a 1800mAh battery
Kinda Looks like a Gamebuino Meta
110 bucks but my pocketGo cost me 39.99 kinda dont see a point to upgrade
make shipments to Mexico?
I made my minty pi but I broke the speaker :(
Search eBay for a mini speaker 20mm diameter and 3mm height
Two words.
Carbon fiber.
why do you need to turn off wifi with the function button lol how often do you hot-switch that bad boy
Why is the link unsecure?
