Getting parts through Lowes and directly from the company I did a new fence run using 2 3/8" round post spikes and upper wood fencing. The speed of putting this fence up was amazing and in comparison to typical fencing I'm sold on this method of fencing.
There’s a fence builder in my area that uses these. The plus is they can build a fence in one day, complete. But they are never straight. I live in central Texas and it’s pretty much rock and clay. I plan to build a fence but I’m using goat panels. It’s cheaper then a wood fence and they come in 10’ 12’ and 16’ panels

Also to add, digging below the frost line prevents frost from lifting with concrete. Adding a 6 inch bed of gravel in your sona tube before pouring concrete creates the drainage as well....just sayin'

I just bought some of these and I want to know how deep the base can go into the ground. I realize it's designed to go to the bottom of the cup that holds the post but if it won't cause issues down the line if I can go deeper where the cup is down under the surface several inches it will keep me from having to rack my fence panels. I think I'll be able to run the fence tops level until the last two panels that will have to be stepped down
Looks like a cool product. Would be nice to see the galvanized metal post method as well since I would assume that rod with a square end would not fit well and that is the method I'm looking for. He did mention glue but not what type they recommend and if there is a different glue type for the metal fence posts. Anyone else have that info?
Did I hear that right 3:18when installed correctly its the same as concrete 6" to 8" hole, good thing when building a fence you put 24" of concrete, and you don't put concrete around the post and leave it standing on top of the ground
What size and type screws do you recommend to screw in at the bottom of the 4X4 and how many are needed per post? I am going to try these for my fence and I want to make sure I get it right the first time.
@@twobluestripes I used Galvanized lag bolts and Decking screws and these are by far one of the best purchases I ever made. I would defiantly rent a jackhammer and buy the attachment available to install these and it will make your life much easier. My fence is still standing strong through hot summers and freezing Northeast winters 7 years strong now.
Last thing should I treat the bottom 6" of post with a sealant before installing in the cup? And should I apply a bead of sealant around the top of the cup to prevent moisture from running down into the cup keeping the post moist longer
I dont get what his point was when he pushed over the post. The ground around the post is different than it standing on top of the ground by itself. We have high winds in Louisiana. The wind force is on the 4 inches of that bracket on top of the ground vs the 2 foot of concrete and earth around it. Seems like the physics are a bit off with this product

I'll have try them. But I'm not sure what you were trying to prove, when you pushed over the post with a concrete base? It proves nothing, it was not sunken into the ground. Your post system would tip ovet easier if you did it the samw way. You should take that part out it proves nothing. It just looks stupid. But I will try them out.

I am installing a 4 foot chainlink fence that is 115 feet long. 15 posts, all parts, quikcrete, all for under $700

kit DOES NOT fit all hammers with 1-1/8inch shafts... key way for this kit is on a peak of the hex shaft, ours uses key way on a flat of a shaft and has a 2 inch cylindrical feed into hammer... this kit is full hex shaft at feed... Just figured that out finally getting around to the fence 3 months after purchase!!!

Great idea you have there, but it's cost prohibitive. I can rent an auger for a weekend and pour concrete for $2500 less. Thats enough money saved to buy a big screen tv and a ps3. Find a way to bring the costs down to less than $5 each, and I believe these will really take off.
Tip---I dig a small hole about 8 inches deep and 12 inches diameter I then fill the hole with dry post concrete and drive a metapost in the correct position within the hole. After to.this I add water to the surface of the concrete and allow it to set. This provides a solid cap and helps preventing any side movement of the post.
Unfortunately you can not find them at a decent price and they are not at Home Depot or Lowes and when I went on Lowes they had them on their web site but they were out of stock even over their web site and I had to send Lowes my email address so that when they have a supply they would be able to contact me. At this point I hope they don't raise their price to some crazy price.
Where are you finding $150 each? The heavy duty 4x4's I'm seeing are about $30. The only thing I see that high is the 10x10 post base that attached to concrete for patios
does cement one is still 10 times stronger than the metal post for the Frost to penetrate a foot and a half Underground it would have to be - 70 order if you're putting a small fence up like a 3 foot 1 or 4 foot 1 like a picket fence those metal post would be brilliant otherwise big heavy six foot fence no good

I would suspect these would be a challenge to drive into the ground where there would be stones and other obstacles to contend with.
I ended up digging a hole and concrete the oz post. My ground is rocky and while trying to drive the oz post in, it bent and went sideways.
Figure it out. It's basically common sense 😂

They are talking about the diameter of the hole not the depth of the hole.

We 've had MetPosts (same thing) in the Uk for years, we just don't use a jackhammer.

Derrick Stinoski just reverse the process, get underneath the bottom of the post and hold the jackhammer inverted and drive the post out:-)
