Have you even played a ME game? If you did you would not even think that.
So? Don't get me wrong, I'm generally against microtransactions, especially with the history EA has had with them but it could be significantly worse than being limited to single player cosmetics that's largest impact will be what your rover looks like.
Who the hell cares about those paint jobs. Just give me a good story, interesting characters and decent gameplay and I'll be perfectly happy with the default paint. Same goes for armors and guns, as soon as I find the best ones for my class (Vanguard ftw).
Unless i can paint the Tempest to match they are staying stock, not that i would even buy paint jobs to begin with.

I think the last vid ME released from CES(1 week ago) was "Representative of in-game experience" everything else waspretty much put in the "Not actual gameplay"
Most game companies have been putting that warning in their videos for years. Honestly at this point we should all have collectively learned that gameplay videos that consist of pre-recorded footage always (ALWAYS) look better, and that anything a developer says prior to release should be treated as a hopeful pipe-dream rather than a solid promise. The NMS fans where just really enthusiastic about putting the "dumb" back in fandom.

Would be weird if we did, it takes place right as we get there, and the point of going there is to settle on a few planets not explore the entirety of a whole new galaxy right as we arrive.

Ainsley Harriott Yeah I for one like the "smaller" scale & I use that term very loosely cause there can be millions of planets within a cluster. Wouldn't make much sense to have the entire galaxy open seeing as how we're new arrivals.
Ainsley Harriott an in game reason would also be the mass effect relays don't exist in this galaxy and that was the only reason different races could travel form cluster to cluster so quickly, without them it would take years to get to another one.

I'm worried about the RPG mechanics. ME2 was great but it was WAY too streamlined and was made specifically for the mass market. We need the ME1 mechanics.

I just started Mass Effect 1 for the third time last night. I'm going through the entire trilogy before Andromeda to platinum. These four games should hold me until Star Citizen is fully released.

You and me both. I think my total is somewhere around 18 plays. At least a dozen for ME2 though only 3 for ME3. I had too much fun in MP (an unexpected enjoyment as I was a SP purist prior) and of course, the ending. LOL!

They have faster cognition skills compared to humans so we think of them as talking faster. And no, they do not talk like Aboriginals. Mordin was the only exception since many Salarians sound and talk nothing like him throughout the series.

Did I miss something or they was no mention of any gun on the Maako, I mean roover with customizable paint job? And still no space battle if the n guns on the Tempest is any indicative.
The Nomad can never replace the Mako.
After all, it looks like you can actually steer the Nomad.

Kalle Saarinen you do remember that the first Mass Effect had a lot of grinding too? you land on a planet, you find a building, you kill everyone inside, rinse and repeat.
Dr Caramel Same with the second except you could scan for materials and find the random side mission here and there. Third had the same idea except really simplified and scanning was basically gone except for the odd "anomaly" (Stash of credits). Personally I absolutely loved the system from 2, if they would go into more detail with that system like it seems that would be awesome.
im just afraid its gonna be underdesigned like dragon age inquisition... just destroying mobs in a half designed maps and creating random items... witcher 3 raised the bar on handcrafted stuff in sandboxes... and even that had too much repetition...
Inquisition was a large improvement over DA2 though.
In many respects it was, but a lot of the maps felt barren and unfinished... there should have been much more sidestory quests on maps and personable npcs living in them...

I sure hope you can still space scan a planet or space rock to narrow down resources so you can add way points and routes so those wanting to max out your resources early and thus upgrade the ship without having to play multi player easily

What do you mean by dog years? Their lifespan is between 40 and 50 earth years.
A 6yo dog is equal to 42 years. 40-60 years was life expectancy in humans. But due to medical science, we live to be 100+. In Mass Effect, humans live to 120-150, Salarians age faster like a dog. They die around 40 or 50, to them that's like a 12yo dog. It's small to us, but large to a Salarian.
Only Bioware can make the Frostbite engine look so last gen.
