    Brilliant discussion Dave.
Agree with Sutty regards ex players being involved with VAR.
However in my opinion VAR is ruining the game, both on and off the pitch.
If they insist on keeping it in my opinion it should be for "goal line" technology only

Thanks for running this live debate tonight, Dave. Quick thoughts. Huge thumbs up to the club for calling for a vote and putting VAR properly in the spotlight. Like most fans (and nearly all the ones who actually go to matches) really hope it's scrapped altogether. Failing that then 30 secs limit on making any call. Beyond that as your guests and other comments said, it's definitely not "clear and obvious". Otherwise the decision on the pitch stands which should apply especially to offside. Enough of all the nanometer nonsense! No mics. As Sutty says a decent ref should be seen and not heard. We certainly don't want any more attention given to the men in black and the armchair analysts on MoTD. So in short, let's get back to basics. Football is a simple game and frankly we all love it for that reason, and desperately wish to keep it that way.

Agree its killing the Game we all love
But it could have worked if used in the right way
Its not so much VAR but the incompetent officials that use it
Well done to WOLVES FC for showing some Balls and getting the Ball rolling Other Clubs need to follow suit now if we want this scrapt
The enjoyment has gone not to be able to celebrate a goal until VAR have decided to rule it out
And we have had our fair share of bad decisions over the season
I for one haven't attended many games this season as I've had enough Credit to fans who go week in and week out to games
I just hope now as Wolves have started this off and will need the majority of at least14 votes needed to change the outcome of VAR this proposal will we suffer a points deduction next season & charges🤔
But Very proud of this Club for stepping forward something had to be done👏👏🐺🧡🖤

Everyone knows Var in concept should make the game fair for all. However the amount of wrong decisions which have no accountability or compensation for clubs makes a mockery of Var.
Var seems to be used by officials to have more control over the outcome of games.
Wolves have had apologies for really poor decisions, the officials say sorry then say they will change things for future games & they do ... Thanks Wolves for helping us make Var better however no compensation will be given.
Compensate clubs for the wrong decisions & Var will definitely get used the way it is supposed to be used !

Good on the Club for forcing the debate.
I don't think it will remove VAR but the system does need an in depth review.
I was for it originally after seeing it at the World Cup, but, the disruption to the game and the continued poor results make it worse than before we had it.
You guys have covered many of the real reasons so well done for your honesty, clarity and courage.
Liam has got it right. We understand human error in speed of play, not after 8 mins of looking at an event in slow mo from aload of different angles.
Clear and obvious errors is all we need it for, Dave, 45secs is indeed enough. After that it isn't clear, or obvious.
Phase of play is important too. Either put the flag up or blow the whistle at the time; phase of play nonsense is avoided then.
That's just my opinion and I'm probably just backing up what you've said in the chat really.
Thanks Dave, good to see you walking in Stafford too. 😃

What's the betting that when the vote is held that the so called 'Big Six' Clubs vote to keep it? I think the vote should be made by the fans. The people who really care about the game itself and are not totally money orientated. Always hated VAR. No room for technology in football. SCRAP VAR!

Was nice more than half the stadium left 🏟 before the lap of honour by the players. Just shows really deep down, fosun and gary are not the ones to take the club forward and thats why fans are fed up and buggered off early?
Would never of happened under nuno!

Dave, VAR can be used like how the third umpire is used in cricket. In cricket There are 2 challenges per club per innings. So that's 4 challenges total each, if you get a challenge right, the challenge is retained. In football, the captain can challenge the referees decision, and get 2 challenges each for goals against and goals for. just like in cricket, can retain a challenge if it's right, . Cricket has become more interesting after the 3rd umpire rule, football unfortunately has regressed after VAR coming in for every single decision, ruining the flow of the game.

    • @AlwaysWolves
      @AlwaysWolves  Před 18 dny

i heard this before but cricket aint football cricket is one action a bowl and a strike then it stops. before ext football is free flowing this IMP just slows the game down even more

Thanks Dave good debate, it always strikes me that why oh why, don't the people who run VAR go and look at what happens in the big Rugby Union games. There the referee, if he is in doubt, consults the Video Referee, the two lines men watch a replay with the referee on the big screen. And all of them consult and reach a joint decision, no lines, just common sense.

Gomes, Nouri and Cunha are deffo off after that empty lap of honour. Sure gestifute want Gomes on their books anyway at a bigger club. 🙄 its unfortunate just cant see gomes here next season they will come in now before he starts going above 30mill euros! Neto may get a move, id get rid always pulling hamstrings. Cunha very very impressed by him but too good for us, he can score at any club. Would be in the top ten prem scorers if it wasnt for that injurys hes deffo off.

before we script video assistant referee, we should stand up against investors who made it impossible for a hard-working Britain to watch a Premier League game because he cannot afford the money to buy a ticket… it’s a disgrace

    • @AlwaysWolves
      @AlwaysWolves  Před 19 dny +1

Mika its not impossible for hard working people to a ford a Premier League ticket they are generally less than concert tickets. many hard working people go to games. its not cheap and wed like it cheaper and it certainly puts some off but they are not out of reach to afford especially if you work hard but dont disagree with your sentiment

Get rid . It’s killing the games emotional side . What’s next AI running the game . U may aswell make it a computer game the way it’s going . Give the fans football back . All clubs should ask the fans what they want not what money men at clubs want .
