- Can you believe I actually managed to finish a video for the first time in literally two years? Holy shit.
The short version: I started working full-time two summers ago and never stopped being busy since, lmao. At school I'm a full-time uni student (plus I don't bring my desktop with me to school, so I don't even have access to Vegas), and then I'd pretty much go back to working a stupid amount of hours whenever I came home (if anyone reading this works at a restaurant, you'll know what I mean, lmao). And that's fine! I really like my job! I just decided to prioritize other things while I get used to being an adult. I will likely continue to do so for the most part.
I did, however, have a bit of a break before I went back to work in December, so that's when I started this! Then I gave up on it for a while, went back to school, and then got a sudden burst of inspiration and finished it over the last three days.
I am! So happy! With how this turned out!
Except I'm mad at CZcams for completely ruining the quality of this. Has anybody else had a problem where anything you upload in 16:9 is super pixellated and has this little black bar at the bottom? It doesn't show up on my laptop (Mac) but it does on my desktop (Windows), and it's really fucking weird and I hate it. I don't know where it's coming from cause I tried rendering in both .wmv and .mp4 format, I played around with a bunch of settings, and it didn't used to happen until I tried uploading something in December? Even this version is more pixellated than I'd like, but the black bar is at least gone so I'll settle, haha.
Not the end of the world by any means, but I can't figure out why it's happening to some people's videos and not others. If anybody knows what I'm talking about/how to fix it, please lmk, I will love you forever.
But either way! The Dragon Prince is my favourite show right now and I want everybody to watch it. TDP is everything Voltron wanted to be but could not. TDP is my heart and soul rn. If this video convinces even one person to watch it, I will be satisfied.

I can't believe you disappeared for over a year and then dropped this masterpiece on us without any warning. I'M SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK!! I've missed your beautiful editing. And WOW, what a comeback this is!! You captured everything I love so much about this show! There really isn't anyone out there who makes amvs quite like you do, which is why you're one of my favourite vidders. Thank you for making this! It instantly went to my favourites.

Combine the characters and premise of Voltron with the skill of TDP and I would sell my soul to see it.
Magic, excitement, comedy, action, fantasy, thrills, and adventure. That was a great masterpiece for the Netflix fantasy show of The Dragon Prince. I like the song. Dragons, elves, mages, and many other magical species in the land, sky, and sea. Magic must go on and can't die.
ok so I watched every episode and i'm back to enjoy this edit with new eyes. but omg i'm so glad i watched this series. it was so much better then i thought, not childish at all, clever not dumb-down writing, great characters with justifiable motifs, archs and relationships. and Zym is the cutest.thing.EVER!!!! seriously if nothing else, go watch it for him
oh my GOD this was so well edited. the scene placement and voice-overs were fantastic. this is probably the best TDP vid I've seen.

This video is so good! I watched it about a week ago and it really inspired me to rewatch the series- so, here I am, nearly midnight, after a full day spent binging the entire fucking thing! It's so worth it, this video just gets better with everything fresh on your mind. It's incredible how much the scenes line up with the lyrics- I have trouble focusing on both, but every so often I tune back into the actual words in the song and they match so incredibly well- "as if death itself was undone" and Viren after being revived??? Incredible! And "I never could go back" with Reyla at her village??? GOD YES. This thing is such a treat and everything about it feels /perfect/. Thank you for reminding me of this show and then providing the perfect summary of it in video form along with that. Beautiful work.
And oh, I hardly mentioned it because it feels like it's obvious, but wow, the editing on this. I am an absolute sucker for things timed on the beat and you seem to be a master at that, wow, I love it so much.

What's fascinating is how much your emphasis and the music selection make The Dragon Prince seem like a dark fantasy, which, well, it kinda is. But if I didn't have context I would assume this show was some sort of animated Game of Thrones instead of a kids' show.

IT'S SOOOOO GOOD I HOPE YOU ENJOY!! I think season 5 has been advertised to come out sometime this summer (not 100% sure if it'll be affected by the writer's strike, since apparently animation writers have a different union? But I'm not too familiar with the details/where TDP lands) so your timing will be perfect in that case haha!! It has a similar vibe to A:TLA imo (and like, not in the way that Voltron promised to be lmfao, it's actually good) since Aaron Ehasz is one of the co-creators, but it also definitely stands out on its own and builds its own very distinct world and whatnot. TDP summer let's go!!!

@@nivelaky Nope not yet!! There was a 3ish year hiatus between S3 and S4, and then S4 just came out in November!! So including S5 there'll still be three more seasons to enjoy 😎

I literally just finished s3. Man I love TDP [as well as she-ra]. Worlds can’t describe but I’m so hype for s4. Vieran [bad guy] so annoying that’s what makes him a true villain that you hate him . Even though he’s a puppet😂. Aavaros is the true villain here. I love the fantasy world, it’s so creative. I love the characters and story.

Okay I have to know, you've managed to get such clear audio for the voices and sound effects with absalutely no background music left over from the original clips, how on earth did you do that cus I can't figure it out!?
It all depends on which files you download! I downloaded the episodes with 5.1 surround sound audio, which already have the sound effects/dialogue separated from the music and whatnot in their own tracks. So then you can just extract the track with dialogue/sound effects and mute the others and you're good to go :) Those tend to be large files though (like between 1GB - 3GB per episode, I've found) so make sure you have the hard drive space for it haha
