I'm glad that TPS is encompassing with other sports and not just football
Yep
You missed Larry Bird. Only person in NBA history to win MVP, coach of the year and Executive of the year as a GM
He was an insane basketball mind he was so good as the Pacers coach he def could’ve won a chip if not for Kobe and Shaq or if he just stayed with the Pacers
@SnuggieMaple, he is an insane basketball mind. No doubt about it. Even today his insights about the game are still a wonderful listen.
We need more videos surrounding the NBA, MLB, NHL and other sports.
Since there can't be a HOF player that became a HOF owner we can't talk about Mario Lemieux. Doesn't happen often enough to have a list but Mario has won Stanley cups as both.
George Halas simultaneously owned the Chicago Bears and played for them in their early days. Whether he qualified as a HOF player is another matter. Also, Derek Jeter was a HOF baseball player. He could have made the HOF as owner of the Marlins, but he sucked at it.
Don't forget about Lenny Wilkens, who was a Hall of Famer as an NBA player AND an NBA head coach. As a coach, Lenny Wilkens led the Seattle Supersonics to the NBA championship in 1979, and he won 1332 regular season games. What makes Lenny's coaching career more incredible is that he won lots of games without the help of talented superstars. Only 3 of his players that I know of made the Basketball Hall of Fame: Dennis Johnson (Supersonics), Jack Sikma (Supersonics) and Dikembe Mutombo (Atlanta Hawks). Lenny's teams were more often than not greater than the sum of their parts.
Don't forget he coached Dominique Wilkins.
Finally, a TPS video when it's not just NFL football!
Love your video TPS and keep up the great work you are awesome
I’m surprised Steve Kerr didn’t make the list.
Jerry West was a HOF player and executive, but he couldn’t quite cut it as a coach. That may be because he left coaching just before the Lakers got Magic Johnson.
Iron Mike Ditka was not only amazingly a great Hall Of Famer at TE but he became amazing as a excellent coach while in 1985 the Bears had one of the best if not the most dominating defense in the 1980's winning a Super Bowl Championship beating the Patriots 46 to 10 3:00
it's almost like that was in the video
Everyone also overlooks he won 2 rings with the Dallas cowboys
@@limesareprettycool 😂😂😂
We will forget the New Orleans Saints years....lol
I don't see how you can mention Ditka without mentioning his last year with the Bears and three years in which he ran the Saints into the ground.
Larry Bird in the NBA was absolutely a real bonafide superstar in Boston he was really a awesome player he's won NBA Titles with his opponent Ervin Magic Johnson and the Lakers both guys have had undeniable classic battles in the 1980's as well but when Mr.Bird playing days was done he went to coaching in the NBA with Indiana Pacers which by the way Larry Bird played college basketball at Indiana State University 1st Round 2nd overall pick 1979 NBA Draft but while he was coaching Mr.Bird took the Pacers to the NBA Finals for the 1st time ever in the history of the franchise in the 1999-00 season there opponent was none other then Phil Jackson Koby Bryant and Shaquille O'Neil and the Los Angeles Lakers but in the end Lakers won the title but Legendary Larry Bird will always have always was and always will be a icon with the Boston Celtics and the Indiana Pacers as well 10:22
Definitely take advantage of the nfl offseason to integrate more of the top sports leagues like in this video
Lenny Wilkins, Hof as a player and as a coach.
Great: Jason Kidd, Larry Bird.
Horrible: Steve Nash.
5 pro sports logos that should stay and 5 that should be changed asap
This the first time this channel use nba💯
Torre could have been in the horrible category considering how the first half of his managerial career went. The horrible Mets teams of the 1970s, did well in his three years with Atlanta in the 1980s, and a so-so stint with the Cardinals in the early to mid-90s. Then it all came together when he got to the Bronx.
As a Yankees fan since birth it'll kill me to say this. Joe Torre sticks out like a sore thumb here. While a good baseball player he didn't get into the Hall of Fame because of his time as a baseball player he got in because of his time as Yankee manager. That is the only reason he's in the Hall of Fame.
Been watching since 300k subs
Y’all should do this more often (talk about other sports)
0:04-0:08....You forgot the best part...Cant Do It!!🤷🏾♂️🤣💯
You forgot Larry Bird, not a long coaching career but a good one, also you forgot Lenny Wilkins, the best in N.B.A. history to go from playing to coaching.
Ted Williams was a really good manager, he just had lousy teams, joe Torre had the loaded Yankees, Ted could really communicate with his players, and actually improved the senators when he took them over, got them over .500, and back then the only playoff was the world series, you had to have the best record in your league to win the pennant, a lot harder to get in. You didn't go into it because you know you're wrong.
There's only one Bill Russell and he was a impactful player onto the court but as coach he was tremendously masterful knowledge of the game without a doubt 8:00
I also forgot Jerry West, like Larry bird, short but really good coaching career, took the Lakers to a division title, retired because he couldn't handle the stress of coaching, but became a hall of fame executive.
How about the best and worst HOF players who became team executives?
Ditka was elected to the HOF, after he coached the Bears for 7 years and won a SB.
Lou Boudreau (also a player/coach)
I forget the name of the catcher for the Yankees always yelling at Mr October
Tommy Heinsohn NBA phenomenal amazingly splendid as to what he does best but like Bill Russell in a great way Mr.Heinsohn was a 8X NBA Champion Boston Celtics as a player but won 2 more as a coach along with the NBA's Coach Of The Year too not to shabby at all he is now the voice of the Celtics Basketball what a brilliant Basketball life👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 9:29
Don't forget Yogi
R.I.P to the legendary Bill Russell 1st Round 2nd overall University of San Francisco he's won 11 NBA Titles in 1957 1959 and 1960's one of the greatest if not the recognizable champions in NBA's History a real true icon a phenom but he's in Basketball Paredes 6:58
dude stop spamming
@@limesareprettycool he does this on every video
You forgot the Steve kerr, phil Jackson they were good players but a great coach
In my opinion, Mike did cow will always be the greatest head coach of all time who led the Bears to their first and only Super Bowl with of course the famous 1985 Bears defense still to this day what many people say is the greatest defense of all time with Hall of Famer like Mike Singletary, Richard Dent and Walter Payton and they only lost one game in the regular season
Ditka had some success with the Bears, but flopped elsewhere.
You missed pat Riley
How about Phil Jackson? 2 rings with the knicks and 11 as a coach
W vid
I think a good video would be who won free agency and who lost it in a couple weeks right before the draft. Then another video be who won the whole offseason
Ditka. . . Definitely!
Tony dungy and herm Edwards
Magic Johnson
Joe Torre too
Forest Gregg?? He wasn’t such a good coach when he was the Head Coach as the Packers!
Ditka only ever won because of Buddy Ryan's defense. If Buddy had stayed the Bears would have won at least one more Superbowl. If Ditka was such a good coach why did he shit the bed so hard in New Orleans?
Never accomplished his 11 championships? O yeah Phil Jackson did.
Bart Starr only won 2 Super Bowls
Ted Williams was a better manager than that. He was manager of the year with the cellar dwelling Senators.
Isiah Thomas should be on here
How about Frank Robinson? He was good. He was a great player most players that were very good in baseball. Don’t make good managers tell me because they don’t know how to teach it.
Ditka - Good coach for the Bears.... for the Saints... not so much.
John Madden
👍🏾
2:59- _...EXCEPT_ when he coached the _New Orleans Saints!!!..._ don't forget about that _ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE COACHING STINT_ that he had down south in with the _Saints_
Tbf to Gretzky nothing could be helped for the Yotes
cant do it
Ditka should be under the horrible category. Easily the worst coach in Saints history, wrecked the team for years with the worst draft day trade ever.
Mike dika was a horrible coach,,, buddy Ryan's Def carried them he got exposed so bad after,,, Love em still here in Philly
Idea: 10 NFL players who would be legendary coaches when their older.
Bart Starr wasn’t that bad as a coach just not really good
First
Third
Forth
Otto Graham...HOF QB, terrible coach
Kevin McHale - Great player: lousy coach and GM.
UwU?
OT: Why are the Celtics pronounced Sell-tics instead of the correct pronunciation of KELL-ticks?
'85 Bears are the most overrated team ever. Period.
Bart only made 2 sb
He wasn't wrong about Vernon Davis.
Awesome: Jacques Lemaire (NHL)
Horrible: Maurice Richard (WHA)
we'll see: Martin St-Louis (NHL)
K
...ii..i..ii...k.
..i..i.i...😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Forrest Greg did NOT have a "nice" run with the Packers.
In 4 seasons 1984-87 went:
8-8, 8-8, 4-12, 5-9-1.
I don't buy into the concept of a so-called "goat".
But, 11 championships....
Eat that Jordan and James!!
Lenny Wilkens should get a mention.
Hof player and coach
