Good on you for donating. I have a guy who takes all my bikes. He takes them to the church and They fix them. They were able to donate 187 bikes to the Y for kids for xmas.

Iam same way. Found alot of nice wood that finish projects. Or helped start something I wanted too work on.price of wood is through the roof!!! And one evening 6 yrs ago rescue d a 6 mths old kitten. From a recycling center. That was my best find ever. My Pumpkin!!!
Then put a want ad on Craigslist or something so scrappers can call you when they find wood. Then pay what it's worth considering the effort.
Too many people want it for chump change.
Scrappers are not chumps.
I would love to sell wood but can't find decent buyers.

I know I am way late but just saw this video and for future reference, the "diffuser" things are tops for lampe berger oil lamps and are collectable to people who like those oil lamps.

Those decorative metal tops, are for an oil burner called Lampe Berger'.. they have a ceramic wick, which burn for hours without a flame. And yes they are expensive!

That piece of equipment that had the golf club in it is used to customize your golf clubs. You can bend the club head to match a person's swing....as usually taller golfers tend to have a more "upright" swing, and the club can be bent to make the club fit their swing better. Shorter golfers tend to have a "flatter" swing..if you clean it up a bit, A local, small golf shop may give you $10-20 bucks for it! It can also bend the loft of a club to make it stronger...thus go farther.
Mike hits the Brighton score! That stuff ain't cheap! Even the store displays have resale value. In the future, grab the whole mess now, sort it out later. Ish and all - some of that ish isn't ish.(saw at least one watch go flopping to the bottom of the dumpster)

The two lights in the cases are for display or lighting up jewelry the can attach to a show case or into a track wall.
11:00 crazy thing is you are looking at a fortune in wood products in that dumpster, even if the prices are coming down now. That osb wafer board is still over $40 for a 4x8 sheet at Lowe's. 16:03 if you find a cut door that has white block insulation, chalky or plaster like, leave it alone and skip that dumpster. There is a good chance that someone has cut an old asbestos fire door in half. Could be found in construction up into the 1970s. To aid identification of any door that may be a fire door, look for the underwriters laboratory tag on the spine of the door. I have found asbestos filled wood fire doors also. 25:25 yes, sell it. Original cost was probably over 2 ,000 bucks.

I'm glad you are donating that medical equipment like the shower chairs and bedside commodes, as many people need that. It is paid for by Insurance for most people if a doctor orders it, so if the person passes away, people often just toss it.
I like it when you go through and sort the stuff after and then drop it off… Can you do more of those too?

Those T looking stands in the jewelry find are for displaying earrings. I would love to have some for my resell business I am starting to ventuer in. I repurpose old broken jewelry into new designs.

If in good condition, those chair mats go for an average of $40 new. I imagine a used one grabbing you a five-dollar bill. Shelves always sell too. Everyone needs a $5 shelf.

I would go to the store that is near where that dumpster is and see if they have any of those things that you left behind and had to go back and get and find out what they are that way!
Hey brother, I’ve got a question… What would you think about having a subscriber doing a ride along and even helping film, D dive, scrap, clean etc? A volunteer ride for the experience without paying and such? I’d even help clean wires and all. Just a thought. I’m betting many of us would be tickled to do a ride along with famous Mike the Scavenger!

I bought one of those plotters for the company I worked for back in 2005 on a lease purchase plan. Want to say it was around a $5000 plotter back then. Depending on the hardware version it is, how old it really is will determine it's value. If you will bring it to me down here in Victoria, Texas, I'll buy it from you for $100 bucks plus your time traveling. I'll even throw in a pair of steel toe shoes for you! 😃
Yes, and the ink tanks are better than the cartridge types that cost so much to replace. I'll give you 2 hundred and pick it up if it is in the Bay Area. Architects and engineers still use that wide format type printer, although some drawing submittals are now going digital.

Hey Mike...... those office type phone consoles have really nice gold recovery boards if you are interested, and they take about zero minutes to tear down. The Nortel brand is extremely good, and has a hidden finger board behind the digital display.

The "extruded aluminum" thing next to the door is a retractable banner frame and I suspect the halogen lights in the cases are designed to be used with that type banner display.
Years in the sign industry and I recognize that stuff instantly.

So , one day a couple years back the hubby and I were scrapping and we came to a house that had an old shopping cart filled with a massive amount of scrap metal....and we took every piece that was in it....it had all kinds of scrap in it....for the most part it was car parts
