This is afrobeats, not reggae or dancehall. Some instruments are similar of course, but the patterns are different. But I don’t fault y’all if you don’t listen to dancehall + soca or afrobeats to know the difference 🫶🏽 + some artists do a fusion. Lojay and Davido are both Nigerian artists who Chris has worked with before.

Ryan, I checked IG to make sure and the dancer with blue hair is Lance Savali who’s danced for Breezy for a minute. But when you said long hair...are you sure you’re aren’t thinking of Fefe? He’s the only one who had long hair (like to the middle of his back).

I am big on melodies and when this song was over, there was nothing in my memory for me to hum or sing. VERY well produced, very smooth rhythm, love the percussion, the dancing is great. However, I would never seek out this song. Sorry. On a different subject, I would KILL to see Nick with blue hair or even blond hair as a kid. I'm sure he was so cute. He sure is now! Thanks, Boys.

That's probably because it's a music from a different culture with a heavy accent. It would take more time for us to acclimate ourselves to the point of singing along with it.

Lotsa echo, brings the old school reggae dub versions to mind. The rhytm is bit removed from the generic slow reggaeton which has been around for quite a long time.

11/11 is my bday so I’m for it. I’ll edit it after I hear the song. Lol
Edit: okay as far as the song. I think it’s alright. I think it’s more than that traditional hip hop crap that’s everywhere. It’s not something I will have to listen to on a regular basis, but I will go to it now. I wish people would be more creative than this crap that’s around. As a dancer for 22 yrs and not on a pole, it’s nice to see someone freestyle dancing like this.
No he’s not a legend as what was commented earlier and not by you. BB King, Otis Redding, Marvin Gaye, Elvis Presley, The Beatles, Zeppelin, Hendrix, Jerry Lee Lewis are legends along with hundreds moreI think it’s a good reaction.
Also, you should understand that if someone comes to you with new music, that’s how it works, so you might wanna take someone up on that offer because someone else will! May have messed up a business magnifier right there, so be the outlook for talent. Because if someone didn’t take a chance on Buddy Guy or Metallica, they wouldn’t be who they are. That’s good business advice.

I was today yr old when I learned that Ryan is a huge CB fan. 😁 At 51, I’m not his demo but that said, I’m a fan (since “Ayo” for the most part). I know Breezy and R&B, in general, is not this channel’s wheelhouse so I appreciate this pivot, if you will, and hope to see more of it in the future. ✌🏽
