Just because he didn't have formal teachers present doesn't mean he didn't put in the effort to improve his singing. In fact, he might have dedicated more time to studying through great examples than some individuals who followed a structured curriculum, especially if he himself was driven by pure curiosity to learn and enhance his skills. While it's true that teachers can significantly accelerate skill development, for exceptionally talented individuals like Gabriel, formal teaching could potentially stifle their unique, freestyle approach. As Chris mentioned, we can draw inspiration from him and not be afraid to sound a bit foolish while trying to mimic some of his techniques. This doesn't mean people shouldn't seek out teachers; most people can't learn entirely on their own. Instead, it's crucial that everyone pays attention to what works best for them.
Moreover, if Gabriel had followed a formal education with a teacher, he might have become attached to those techniques and might not have developed the same experimental approach to singing that he has now. It's important to note that not everyone attempting this path would achieve the same results; most people might not even recognize their errors. However, Gabriel appears to possess a natural "musicality". In an interview, Gabriel's brother mentioned that their parents took him to a music school, but it didn't work for him, the teacher said he was not able to teach Gabriel. It was my first time hearing Gabriel too... I recently had to describe what kind if singing I love the most and I came up with: "Singing the heart out, with the power of the voice", and he definitely does that!!! Purely amazing!
And that's what I love in Son Jin Wook's singing too. For me he is just as great, or at least has a true potential to be. I'd love him to have an amazing vocal coach like you... For me his talent is like a diamond that could get to shine even more in hands of a right craftsman. What he also needs in my opinion, is a good push (and a proper management :/ ) to spread the wings.

Too risky. He probably did multiple takes to get this performance perfect for CZcams but on AGT you only get one take so a simpler (for him, not us mortals) song is a better choice.

When I saw the thumbnail of this video, I saved it before watching it. Now that I watched it, I realized I was right to save it. What a beautiful reaction! So observant, detailed, sensitive. Gab's freedom, authenticity and passion enchant me. I'm afraid that the music market will try to “shape” him into standards that limit his talent. To date, no major record company has produced him, I don't understand why. He's ready!✨
