Judo is such an amazing sport, not only does it test your physical abilities but also you're mental toughness. THE BEST sport in the world!!
Judo is a very powerful technique, and use of this in street fights and self defense can prove to cause extreme injuries or even accidental death, therefore it should never be used outside the arena unless in absolute need.
my best friend plays judo. she's tall half of me and is only 16 but i think she's invincible. sometimes she wins and some others she loses but she never stays down. this sport made her strong and i can't be prouder of her :)

People don't realize how hard it is to get the timing I do judo and love it with my heart and soul it is an extremely hard sport to do take my word for it

You can break not only your nose while training, but also your fingers, big toe, wrists, ankles, neck, even a leg. Judo is very rough and if you are an adult your injuries would not heal that fast. I am talking from my humble experience as a Russian judoka who was a judo champion in my youth, long ago...
Alexei Lesukov We teach techniques so when we fall we wont get hurt and we train so we have muscle and we are more strong so that we could handle it like my fingers are totally flexible so i wont break them and judo is martial art sport so it kinda has to hurt

I train BJJ and I'm starting up in Judo soon, I can't wait to be doing both! BJJ is awesome, keep in mind that both the martial arts are very similar and have many overlapping techniques before anyone starts hating. OSSSSSS

Judo is NOT just a sport. Judo is a way of life. In fact, Judo wasn't meant to be solely a sport; Its creator (Jigoro Kano), insisted in that matter and he would not like what they have turned Judo into. There is more to Judo than just it's competitive aspect.

Yes, that's why I included Jujitsu in my list, as most Koryu schools include kenjutsu and other weapon training in their syllabus. Ronda Rousey is a Judoka and she's got a collection of opponent's arms in her closet, so wouldn't be surprised if more people start watching Judo. :P And a few face eaters doesn't mean it's happened just yet, but keep an eye out. Especially the ones on the internet. lol
Couldn't have said it better myself, I used to do Judo before I made a switch to MMA, those changes aren't the best honestly. I know that if someone strong grabs your leg that you're pretty much done but that's why you learn to defend it.

Truth is that what is depicted in the video (and what is becoming popular) is merely SPORT Judo... Precisely what Sensei Kano didn't want it to become. JUDO as a whole is more than a sport or martial art, it's a WAY OF LIFE. Judokas should unite to make the IJF reconsider its rules and to incite the knowledge of it as what it is. It's a shame that even high level judokas don't really know the history and different facets of what they practice. Some even ignore that there is an Atemi-Waza stance.

I think the reason why so many people think judos boring is, because they always think that judo is a martial art for real fighting. But that´s not correct, judo is a sport...
no, the people think judo is not effective enough for real fighting and that is a sport with sissy rules. you should go to a mma gym. they will tell you bad things about judo.
These combat sports in the Olympics are going to have much more viewership due to the rise of Mixed Martial Arts..Guaranteed.

Couldn't have said it better, 5 years ago we were able to grab the leg as first attack and now we can't. Judo is becoming ridiculous, I've been trainning since 6 years old and I've seen many changes during this time.
I like it
