I spent six months looking for this exact boot and finally found it hopefully this guide helps anyone else going down this rabbit hole.

This is my favorite boot now, I wear them almost daily. Availability is unpredictable so please feel free to share information you find that will help others find these amazing boots!

The heavyweight Austrian boots you showed are the same ones Robert Pattinson wears in The Batman.

I went through the same search years ago. Found these bad boys and got them resoled with vibram tanker sole. Cobbler admired the leather quality. 10/10 boot

Indestructible boots made in Austria are Made by Steinkogler - far better than Steinadler and KSWB - had mine for nearly 25 Years

I have the heavyweight version of this boot made by Steinkogler. It's probably the toughest, heaviest boot I'll ever own at 1.2kg per boot. It's not as sleek and fashionable as the lightweight version, and it's slower to move around in it, but they are my favorite pair of boots

I lived in these boots in the 90's but UK shoe repairer chain Timpson's destroyed most of the original Austrian Feldschuh Leicht Milsurp boots in circulation by grinding the leather away down to the stitching that held the soul to the boot when they re-souled them, a practice that should be recognised as a crime against humanity.

Another great boot to check out is the M77 Norwegian boot. It’s a lot easier to find too.

What do you mean “hard to find”? I can find them everywhere - here in Austria 😉 On a more serious note, you are right, they are indeed great equipment! You can walk with them long long distances (which, of course, in the Austrian military, they do…), you can run in them for a few kilometers/miles, you can use them for work as you mentioned (mind that they have no safety features like a steel toe and metal mesh in the sole, they are

Thanks for the thorough review, i've ordered a pair just today after waiting for a couple of months for them to come back in stock

  • @dancoad2250

I have a pair of these I wear every day. They needed new sole and laces and a lot of Polish when they got to me but I've had them quite a while now and they're best pair of boots I've ever had hands down!

Kommando Store generally is reliable in getting hard to find boots like that. They’ve had other boots that are hard to find remade by the original manufacturers in the past.

Great video, man! I've had a pair of the surplus boots going on 5 years now, and yeas they definitely can be resoled. Had a vibram sole put on for about 60 bucks, and they're still a perfectly functional, comfy, and sturdy piece of footwear. And I jumped on the Kommandostore preorder the moment I saw that they were going to get new production boots. Sucks a bit to have to wait to later in the year, but it will be worth it to have a brand new pair without the hassle of going through European markets. Glad you're loving them!

  • @PacoElMapache

I love the leather insoles in them. This is the halmark of a quality boot. The boot bed is also leather ❤

I bought these boots for 40 euros in Austria when i was studying there! Very good boots considering the price! Quite stinky and stale but after a little TLC they work well!
