For all of the excellent reviews on this juice that I've seen over the past few years, I went ahead and ordered myself a bottle.
I have to be honest and say that it's nowhere near as rich and complex (to my nose) as it's said to be.
I grew up in the Seventies and Eighties... Men's fragrances of the time truly were what we referred to as "ball kickers", in that they were incredibly strong and had longevity that I don't think any young person today could truly comprehend (unless they were to get ahold of an unspoiled bottle of something like the original 1980s Polo or maybe something like an original bottle of Kouros, maybe an original bottle of even Brut Cologne)... Not to sound mean or demeaning in any way.
Even "drugstore cologne" back then would just about peel paint... And the fragrance lasted literally 12 hours on skin... Anybody's skin.
But because of reformulation and cheapening (corporate greed), almost NOTHING is as it once was.
Something else I've observed... People under 40 seem to be overly sensitive to smells... Again, not to sound nasty or mean... It's just an observation.
We didn't take three showers per day back then... And of course EVERYONE smoked.
Maybe that's why the companies made the frags so strong?
But it's funny to me, how younger people think perfumes like this Bentley are somehow "strong" or last a long time.
I have to say that even though this is a quality made product (the packaging and bottle are absolutely beautiful), the juice just doesn't perform as I expected it to after reading, hearing and watching umpteen hundred reviews.
Could it be that 1960s era noses are that much physiologically different from 1990s era noses?
I guess that'll remain a mystery to me.
Like I said... The notes here are beautiful. The composition is gorgeous... But the notes don't meld well in each one's dry down.
The opening is gorgeous... The rum note is magnificent. Sweet, but not too sweet. Unfortunately it fades off about ten minutes in for me.
Then comes the cedar and patchouli... Not a bad smell if you like that sort of thing, but on my skin it turns into "Rabbit Hutch" in about fifteen to twenty minutes.... And then fades to nearly nothing after about an hour.
This starts the "incredibly dry" dry down... That consists of a faint vanilla note, topped with maybe iris and a slight hint of bergamot on top.... But by now, this is merely a faint skin scent... And we're only about three and a half to four hours in.
Nowhere in this composition do I get any smoke, leather or incense notes... For that, I like Amouage Jubilee Man (incense),
Mahhir Black (smoke)
and believe it or not, the 1965 Avon cologne "Leather", for a true leather note.
I've tried this experiment several times... Shower, apply eight to twelve sprays of the Bentley Intense, and let it flash off (dry), then put on my P.J.s and give those a quick misting... and jump in bed.
It seems like everything about it is just plain gone in about six hours.
It comes out the same every time. And I just don't get where the whole "it last for days on clothing" thing comes from... I can't smell anything except MAYBE the faintest hint of a spice note on skin or clothes after only sleeping six or so hours.
I understand that different frags work differently on the various skin types... But I've found this lousy performance and unimpressive longevity to be the norm with too many fragrances I've tried within the last four or five years.
The sad part is that I know I'm not losing my olfactory senses, even at my advanced age... YET.
I can still smell when the neighbor's wife is baking something or cooking dinner... And they live over 200 feet to the south of me.
I can still smell when a car is running too rich or too lean, even if they're just passing by.
It's got to be a combination of that the manufacturers just aren't giving us what they promise AND that "modern noses" experience smells complete differently than the "old school noses" do.

I done 11 sprays with this one.. 3 sprays i feel like not enough for me. I need a backup bottle since this one is my fav from Bentley, definitely 10/10. New subs here, keep up the good work. I hope to see u improve with the lighting

Good honest review, everything was on point about this fragnance.
Its not an teenager or young guy smell, I would suggest to use it if you are above 30s and higher.
Its mens smell, bearded guy, serious, good men vibe.
Its my first fragnance which is this serious, before I only had like Invictus fragnances, but this Bentley Intense is another level. Unique, menly.
Bentley Intense EDP is a virtual nuclear warhead. The scent is amazing. I'm considered an "older" guy. 56 years old. But I can tell you that the scent is for men. Not for soft weak Beta Metrosexuals who are confused which pronoun to choose this week. This scent is straight up classy, refined and manly. As far from that bubblegum SpiceBomb SoyBoy smell as is possible ..

I blind bought it on fragrancenet and this was based off of my like for Tom Ford Ombre Leather. I wanted a more boozy and woody scent that lasted longer too. But there are some really bad reviews on CZcams too. I think I'm gonna like it.

I would say more for a night out wearing a leather jacket. With this occasion I wore it during the day. Then went to the gym with it on and it was still lingering.

A younger male who is more dominate can wear this but if depends on your vibe you want to give off. If you want to be seen as older and masculine this will do just that. If you are a younger guy I would say a fragrance like Versace Dylan Blue is a better and more affordable option. 👍🏽

I have Bentley intense I have gotten a few compliments also it's a very strong cologne it's a man's man cologne so beware.

In some reviews expert have recommended this for winter or fall. Can you pull this off also in the summer in you opinion?
IMO I think this Fragrance is a WARM AND SPICY scent so it would pair well with a COLD environment. In the sun it may be over powering with the heat. Something more fresh and citrus would be better on hot days. Hope this helps brother.
What do you do if you buy this from a major online store but the longevity and intensity is not at all like how its described on any yt review? I genuinely don't know if I've been duped with a fake bottle because I bought it from a major store. And there's no refunds on perfumes so I'm stuck either way
well I would only buy from a verified buyer on amazon or a large store like Macys. Most bottle will go down in longevity if stuck in large warehouses for too long cause of heat but to get the best results I would go into Sephora or Macys and test the exact Bottle's you want to buy directly to avoid any alterations. I also pulled the trigger on this one.
I'm that "older guy" and remember well the "ball kicker" fragrances of the old days.
Anyhow... I bought mine from a well noted fragrance retailer, so I'd assume it's the genuine article.
Having said that, I honestly don't know what all the hype is about.
To my nose, (and it's a damn good one), this fragrance smells not performs anywhere near as well as it's hyped to.
I definitely smell all of the individual notes, but it's disappointing to me that the rum note especially doesn't hang on but for about ten minutes.
The middle, which only last about a half hour on my skin, is straight up "dead mouse", "pencil sharpener shavings" and stinky STINKY patchouli.
The late dry down, which comes in about the middle of the third hour on my skin, has a SLIGHT vanilla and iris scent... With the almost annoying patchouli and cedar (rabbit hutch) smell about it.
As for total longevity, this ONLY lasts about five hours on me... And maybe seven hours on clothing.
Needless to say, I'm truly disappointed in it.
So don't feel like The Lone Ranger...
Of course, different frags react differently on different people... Unfortunately I've been finding that even the still-produced real "classics" from 30, 40, 50, 60 years ago have been reformulated and watered down to just about nothing these days... So it doesn't surprise me if even Bentley Intense has been effed with a few times throughout it's relatively short time available.
One that I can recommend if you like the oldtimers, is the Belcam rendition of the OLD Ralph Lauren POLO green.
It's actually exactly like the original was in the Seventies and Eighties... And it's dirt cheap, too.

Projection nearly demolished with newer batches..I don't understand why reviewers just choose to ignore that crucial fact. Not worth the buy anymore in my opinion.

For most situations personally NO but it really comes down to how you want to present yourself. I would say maybe a later twenty to thirty’s. With that being said if you are a more cool, calm, collected individual who’s more leather jacket vibes then you can indeed pull it off. Hope this helped. 🤙🏽

I was testing for a couple days, I wouldn't on a regular basis though.
It's for old people. Booze and leather, nose burning strong.
See some people think its to much but some others prefer that. I enjoy the cologne but its not my first pick. Just giving my POV.
