We continue the torture test of the DI BCM AR15 rifle using Federal ammo. Does the rifle make it to 8600 rounds? There's no oil, no cleaning and it's taken 5 years to do this test in heat and cold.
#ar15 #DI #test - Zábava
Now do a accuracy test. I know it may be pointless but I would love to see a side by side of new verses this rifle. Thx MAC
Not pointless at all. If the barrel can't hold accuracy, it's a club. If it's CHF I suspect it will be just fine.
We did a test at 5k I think, but we did one already. We'll do another accuracy test at 10k. We kept a box of the same Wolf ammo we've used for previous accuracy tests so we can get measurable results.
@@Militaryarmschannel great. Thx again
@@Militaryarmschannel Could you please also do an accuracy test after cleaning?
@@Militaryarmschannel Would be nice if you can do accuracy test before and after cleaning the rifle so we can have some data on is it relevant to clean your AR for it to be accurate
You may call me insane, but I am from Brazil and we have crazy gun laws. But this series made me import a bcm recce 16 just like this, it cost me from 6k to 7k dolars. That's my best rifle and the one that I trust my life in it.
7k?.... is most of that taxes? cause you can get an upper here for $800. BCM is a great rifle you made a good choice though.
@@khann844Probably licensing, import tax, processing fees, conversion to pesos, etc...
Congrats, enjoy! I LOVE my BCM
@@Cappyfrags I love my also, it's with me for something like 3 years. it's amazing
@@georgewhitworth9742converting to reals
Both theories are possible but if I had to guess I'd say Jason's probably right
It certainly cant be ruled out
FTF from bolt release shown in the video indeed is very likely to be the recoil spring. That poor recoil spring prob only has a service life of 5k rds and is now so worn out, to the point it is between FTF on bolt release into FTF on semi-auto fire.
I bet it wouldn't have had such an issue if this BCM had a Sprinco blue or Geissele recoil spring.
I bought my Burn Bronze Recce 16 after watching your video on it like what, 8 years ago?? I've acquired, lets say several, rifles since then and many of them cost more than the Recce. It's still my favorite one and my go to for who knows what. Not a single malfunction with any type of ammo and hard use.
Yeah I don't think it would be unfair to replace the buffer spring at this point. As long as it's done on camera and the rifle isn't "cleaned" even the extractor spring is past it's expected life cycles Bravo, Bravo company😂😂
Have MAC let us know when it get up to the round count of a scar 16 being ran on full auto past 200K ….
Proof that you don't have to spend crazy money on a Gucci AR. BCM is not necessarily a cheap rifle, but for the money you'll be hard pressed to find anything better.
Compared to a SW, Ruger or psa that is a Gucci rifle.
@@j.anthonyk1730 and better than all above that you mentioned. You get what you pay for.
BCM upper plus whatever cheap lower you want=the META …. You can have a nice rifle for damn near the same
They're not cheap, but for that relatively small amount of extra money you are getting a lot of benefit. I think they are the sweet spot for price/performanc/features.
I ran a 80$ kak phosphate to 10k no cleaning or lube. 6 moa at the end of it.
The BCM AR15 proving once again why it's a top choice for reliability. Watching it run flawlessly through 8600 rounds without a drop of oil or a cleaning session is a testament to its rugged design.
Good luck trying to get one.😂
Depends what your scenario is. With a can BCM's are over gassed by a lot.
@toddsnuffer9874 unless they sold out in a week, i know of two places that have them regularly.
It’s just the ar platform. Back in the day ak operators union ran 5k rounds through the pa15 freedom. He actually put sand in it, threw it in a river, and some other abuse. By the end of he tested the barrel for accuracy and it was still spot on.
Honestly, even if it doesn’t make it to 10k, I’m still impressed.
When you're done with this please send this to get an autopsy from school of the American rifle
My man. IYKYK
Why bother they'll just say there's a lot of wear on it and needs new springs.
YES!
I’m down with that
I've been waiting on this video for years.
1ST LT who trained Irag forces told me they had a range M4 with over 12K rounds through it w/o cleaning, to build confidence in the M4.
The M4 will beat itself out of spec before seizing up due to fouling whereas a rifle length system or mid length system will stop working before they can beat themselves out of spec.
I had been wanting a BCM when this project started. I’m now the proud owner of a 14.5” mid length BCM!
“Project”? What do you mean “project”? Slapping an upper and lower together?
@@jakeh6980he’s talking about the test on the rifle
@@jakeh6980 lol the endurance test
Atta boy. Perfect length
Lol thanks guys, bc I was sincerely asking that question. Wasn’t trying to be a smarta**. I genuinely didn’t know what was being talked about 🤣
I went through the Smith and Wesson AR armorers school. Basically the instructor advised not to “GI Clean the platform as the Military does. We weee told, the carbon in the gas tube will fill in the micro holes in the gas tube which develop. The bolt carrier key and the bolt tail will seal more effectively as carbon deposits on the area. Cleaning is done as normal. I was shocked but understood the theory. For lubricant, Mobile 1 0W-20 is used. Range day, we used the oils and spent two weeks building and firing the weapons we built.
I'm former military, and felt the excessive weapon cleaning was, well... excessive. As a civilian, I only clean when / where it's necessary. And I lube it with motor oil. It works just fine. People can get pretty pedantic about this stuff, but in my experience the pedantry is out of line.
I prefer The Lucas Oil made for firearms!
I too use Lucas oil. I find it is a fine product on my weapons. With the AR 15, I have a quart of Mobile 1 full synthetic 0w - 20. It actually works.
My Dad & uncles used 30 weight motor oil to lube their M16s in Vietnam. They all loved the rifle. I continued the tradition, but I use 5W20. Always carried a bottle of Mobil 1 with me in the military. Might try 0W16 soon. I hear good things.
I’ve used Amsoil Signature 0w-20 in all my firearms for years with great results.
I thought I was the only one not using traditional gun oil!😆
Holy crap I thought we’d never see this series continued! I LOVE MY BCM.
When I joined the SWAT team we had a couple old MP5's we bought used. They even had the original straight mags. I discovered that everyone had been shooting them, including a bunch of lead reloads, but nobody had ever cleaned them. They had gone through at least a couple thousand rounds each but never malfunctioned. It took me about 4 hours each to scrape the crud out of them and really clean them properly. I would hate to be the guy that cleans this one.
I'd say that one is getting a bath in the ultrasonic
Surely as much as Tim shoots he cleans with ultrasonic
Atleast a good soaking in a tub of cleaner first to break everything down, if not ultra sonic.
Like the old carb cleaner buckets you just dunk all the parts in and let them sit for a few hours or a day.
When this is done you should send the bcg to SOTAR to check out
This for sure
I’m a graduate of that school 😂 aka: Clandestine
Run the BCM bolt in Everything 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
incredible that it sat caked in carbon for 3 years and still functioned just fine
I've been waiting for this video forever!!!!
This is why when cool new rifles come out I just can’t justify buying them. The AR15 is so good, and it has such an incredible aftermarket that buying into a new platform is hard to understand. There are rifles today that might be better, but the difference is so slim.
To have something different duh. Yeah your ar or ak is gonna be your primary rifle but you gotta have some variety in your collection unless your only purpose is to have a crate of ar15s to start your own mercenary group
@@jason200912Which is pretty based, not gonna lie.
OMG- I've been waiting impatiently for this follow-up video!!!
I did a similar test years ago with a Colt upper, except I oiled the bolt occasionally, but never cleaned it. Approx. 3500 rounds later I gave up because the upper never failed and ran perfectly. A properly built AR platform will run under all kinds of abusive circumstances.
Salute to you, Tim. I've been waiting patiently for this
Love my 14.5 BFH. Just ordered the FDE bolt carrier group yesterday for it and throwing my old BCM bolt carrier in my first ar. This is probably the best marketing for BCM out there. Shows how reliable it is.
YES!!! The BCM is back!!!
i would be willing to bet BCM has told him they would love to take a look at that riffle
Pat Rogers already confirmed the durability and reliability of BCMs rifles for them over a decade ago. Look up the Filthy 14
I’m willing to bet the BCM factory have tested their rifles to 50k plus
@@PrintWizard89is it on CZcams? I typed in bcm filthy 14 and it’s just regular reviews
@@joshuairvin6015look up Pat Rogers final speech, he goes into it in that
This makes this BCM owner very proud.
DD what???? 😎
@@xDOOM95 I like DD, I have a MK18 build but I honestly like my BCM better. It's my work horse, I trust it with my life, and this video shows why.
If you continue to fire that AR at that ridiculously high rate, the ATF is going to require your trigger finger be registered as an automatic weapon with the attendant paperwork.
It's a good thing Tim was born before 1986... :)
His nick name "Finger"
He's lucky the ATF hasn't already raided his home. They are notorious for doing that and killing dogs.
@@the12gaugeshottypeople now too, it seems. They’ve upgraded.
Jerry Miculek would also be considered a machine gun the way he shoots. 😂
MAC always finds a new way to keep me tuned in. Love this guy and his collection. Been watching him long before I ever owned a gun
Been wondering about this test, I remember when you started it. Glad you are continuing it!
I don't think it would be unfair to open the rifle and replace the buffer spring at this point. As long as it's done on camera and you don't "clean" it. 8600 rounds is a testimate to BCM's quality Bravo!!, Bravo company USA!! 🎉😂
I was sold at 7500 rounds…missed the first video just seeing this now. Nice. Definitely alleviates concerns about DI and ability to clean. Plus I’m even happier now with my BCM 14.5 build. Excellent video. Thanks.
I was just wondering about this the other day. I'm glad you came back to this rifle to do an update video.
Can't believe I've been waiting years for this! Thanks for keeping it going Mac!
I was just thinking about that riffle the other day. Glad to see you got it back out
I was JUST reminiscing on this series the other day. Glad to see it return!
so glad this series is back. love it so much. I will say my first thought was your had overload the bolt from firing to quick
It’s been sooooo long I thought you guys stopped running it anymore! I’ve even checked your channel a few times to make sure I didn’t miss any uploads.
Love MAC's videos! This video validates that the forward assist is there for a reason.
Thank you for bringing this back out
Amazing it's been nearly 5 years. I had just gotten into ARs when the first video came out. Crazy to see how my collection has grown since then, still need to add a mk2 BCM quad rail upper to that collection.
I am so glad to see an update on the BCM rifle.
So glad to see testing resume! I was thinking about this AR testing just recently and here it is :)
Big Thumbs up Brother~John
Really nice content. I enjoyed your video. Thanks!
Thanks for doing this work for us!
Thank you for the promised update 🙂
Was fun talking to you at IWA
Hey it’s been a min since I’ve seen the BCM in action. Great content sir, can’t thank you enough for all your work.
Much appreciated!
Awesome, glad to see this test back.
Been waiting along time for this one
My first build has a BCM upper and I love it glad to see I made the right choice
Pretty amazing performance honestly. Im glad to c this project revived.
Just bought a blem BCM 14.5 mk2 upper yesterday. Feeling pretty good about that right about now.
Awesome Test Guys 🇺🇸
Love this series!
Been waiting for this video for forever!!!!!
I'm so glad you brought that rifle out. It gives me hope
Great video and nice job on bringing us the torture test. I would love to see a video of you walking us through this rifle and talking about the part's and the finish on the parts. These bolt carriers are absolutely amazing with the DLC, Black Nitride and chrome. The Old parkarized bolt's loved to collect and hold carbon like crazy.
Finally!!! Been waiting for this!
Holy shitI forgot all about this thing that's awesome you guys brought it back
Awesome content 👍
I have a factory spikes tactical 16” with almost every changed on it except the barrel, bcg, and buffer. Everything else I’ve changed for looks or function but it’s been 100% reliable. over 10 years old and a spikes build with Faxon 10.5 and it’s also been 100% but it’s new I built it about a year ago and very little round count. But because of these videos I had to buy a BCM Recce 14 as my SHTF rifle. Thank you for your videos! Also have a Zastava ZPAP because of your videos 😊
no one cares what you have except the AFT - remember that
Awww, the much vaunted BCM Reece. Not to be mistaken for the Recce, this limited edition rifle accompanied Washington across the Delaware. Discontinued in 2019.
Keep up the good work
Glad to see you come back to this rifle. I’m very curious to see how long this one goes!
Nice to see this series back. Many times over the past few years I've wondered what happened to this test. I just assumed you gave up on it or got distracted by other projects. What happened to the mag well fan you used to use to cool the barrel between strings of fire?
Ive been waiting for this video :)
I’ve been waiting years for this 👍🏼
BCMs are impressive!!! Finally picked one up. I own a few Gucci LWRCs in piston and DI, and a few older Colt LE6920s DI which are my work horses. I am sure the BCM will not disappoint!!!
I honestly forgot about this test since it's been so long. Glad to see it back
I been waiting for this to come back to light
Finally!!!! Since 2020
Been waiting for this to come back for YEARS. thank you sir! Another video to throw at my piston snob friends 😂
I was thinking about this project a few weeks ago. Thought y’all had just shut it down.
Glad to see you haven’t.
Yeah!!!!! Been waiting patiently!
Great to see this rifle back!! Definitely need to do some accuracy testing at the end
Finally !!!) I have been waiting this test to continue for so long :) I have BCM Recce 14 for over 7 years now so I am really curious how she will go
BCM brothers unite
BCM uses subcontracted parts. They just assemble weapons.
@@dv8322well it obviously is working
Ive been waiting for this
My first was a Colt I bought in 78 that was flawless. My present is a Bushmaster Patrolman's model I bought in 2008 with 5600 rounds so far. Never cleaned, just oiled 3 times. Only malfunctions have been 2 failures to feed using the same Lancer mag. That's why I prefer Magpul or MFT mags.
School of the American rifle, watch the feed ramps for burrs
Why do people buy them, they cost more too
Been waiting so long for this video. Looking forward to the next but hopefully it doesn’t take another 3 years!
I love these videos. My favorite.
Glad you like them!
Wow now days BCM is top of the line. Crazy to see how far they have come.
Man I just asked about this the other day glad you continued 😂
I’ve been waiting three years for this! Let’s go!
DOOOODD!!!! I was so worried I’d never see any of this series again!!!! YES!!!!!!
I wanna see gauntlet tests, those were my fav
My big takeaway from this was MAC saying "Forward assist did it's job." 😉
This right here, any long time fan knows that MAC prefers his ARs without a forward assist since he says you'd just rack the charging handle and shoot the next round in a failure event...that probably wouldn't work this deep in now!
@@brisirina Well, he could have racked the charging handle, but he used the forward assist :D
Ive been wondering about this bcm. Glad u picked it back up
I have a very similar rifle, a Recce 14 KMR which I bought before MLOK was even a thing. These things just run. I dare say it's like the Glock of the AR world. They're also tuned well and are crazy accurate for a CHF barrel.
Thanks for bringing this back tim. Id love to see a ddm rifle and a psa rifle in the same test but i know its pricey
Can’t wait to see the cleaning video
Time to get that ultrasonic cleaner off of Temu 😂
Great Great content, you can't beat BCM with a broomstick. BCM just runs, i own some really top shelf Rifles. But that ole BCM always find its way into my range bag heading to the hunting property to shot. SEMPER FI BROTHER.
Fantastic review. We know in the real world a smart person would do basic cleaning to ensure reliability on any platform. But these tests are always fun to see what the limits can be
This got started because so many people were spreading misinformation about DI. They would say they can't do what we've done because it "poops where it eats" or anti-AR people would claim they only run with special lubricants. I think we've dispelled these myths already.
@@Militaryarmschannel I agree DI guns can run. I prefer a DI because in Arizona the DI blows the dirt out of the action better. Great videos keep up the great work.
I remember Pat Roger’s “filthy 14” (?) series of reports about one single rifle they used in classes and purposely never cleaned. Can’t remember the lubrication they did but it was minimal. That was really an eye opener for me.
@@MilitaryarmschannelNot sure if this would make a difference, but do you happen to know if this was a BCM Recce upper or just a standard and slightly cheaper BCM upper?
@@cbbees1468they are all the same. Recee only refers to what I can tell is their uppers with free float mlok/keymod hand guards. All their barrels and other materials are made to equal standards. Except they have regular button rifling chrome lined barrels and cold hammer forged chrome lined barrels which usually cost about 100 dollars more. I’d just go with the cold hammer forged barrel upper and call it good. But I’m guessing you means to ask if it was a standard barrel or cold hammer forged. He may mention it in the older videos from 2021.
I have their lightweight 16" enhanced MLOK upper that I bought directly from their website for about $960 delivered to my door.
Total BCM, with BCG and Gunfighter charging handle. It is fantastic, with mid-length gas system and Mod1 comp, very smooth recoil impulse.
Notice how many mag dumps he did and not even a puff of smoke from the gas block.
Try that with a cheap upper.
And that's one of the reasons you have a forward assist.
Glad someone said it.
Or…you could just push on the bolt with your finger
You try that with a hot bolt.@@leftyhanded
@@kellym3531okay
Soooooo many videos with people saying the forward assist is pointless/worthless. Let's me know they've not had long strings of fire, or a worn out boot camp rifle that could use a new buffer spring.
Watching that forward assist getting some action just chubbed me up.
You read the comments on that AK short lmao. Thank you for the video
Can't wait to see an in depth look at the internals when this thing is all said and done
Fantastic! Please continue with the Primary Weapons System PWS rifle as well!
I was wondering what was up with that gun. Good to see it again
Remember the 1980s-90s gun mags would do 10,000 round tests of Colt, Busmaster, Oly, etc.. ARs. The ARs always survived with no parts failures. Headspace would grow. But accuracy remained within USGI specs.
But, they cleaned & lubed them occasionally. Nowhere near 8000 rounds no lube. Wow.
Thanks!
Did basically this with a suppressed 11.5 centurion rifle, meticulously tracked round count without cleaning or lubing it, stopped around 8500 because the previous 1300 rounds of steel case in the rain made everything look like it was rusting, after cleaning I realized it wasn’t actually the gun components
Definitely very impressive trigger work. Great content. I'll be it makes it to 10k no problem.
Cant wait to get off work to watch this!
Cliffs Notes for this video: you better have at least a BCM upper in your horde.
