Due to the whole Corona situation, the viewing deck at Zurich is only open on select days of the week meaning I had to find a new area to spot from at Zurich Airport. After a quick search on google I found a viewing area to the west of the airport which had a somewhat decent view of the airport. Definitely not the best as planes which took longer to take off (From RW28) would be obstructed by huge trees. And also aircraft are frequently parked on a remote stand infront of this viewing area, which can obstruct views of the airport behind it. Fortunately for me a Swiss A340 was parked there and moved shortly after I arrived
Anyway a fabulous day for spotting with clear sunny skies. Sadly Zurich Airport is far from normal, and nowhere near as busy as it was when I last visited in October 2019. Most of the Swiss long haul flights were cargo services only, and their short haul routes were mostly flown on A220's. In fact I don't recall seeing an A320 series or a Helvetic Embraer in use during the time I was here. Most departures used Runway 28, which is mainly used for short haul flights, even a United 787 and Air Canada 787 used Runway 28. Usually heavies would depart from Runway 16, the long runway - Of which a couple of Swiss movements did.
I stayed for about 4 hours, so this is all the movements seen and captured within a 4 hour period. I literally filmed all departures. Fortunately there were a few private jets to keep things occupied as well. Look out for a Green Dassault Falcon which oddly enough taxied to RW28 but never took off for some reason. I also got to see my first A319CJ with sharklets and a bandit mask, and a very nice scheme on it to say the least.
I do have another video to come filmed the following day from the observation deck as its open every Wednesday until December. So I managed to get some action from there as well.
