I'm pinning this comment to help identify one of the CONS that I mentioned in the video, and that is of the cost of the addons. So what I'm going to do is provide a price list of everything purchased and shown in this video MINUS the additional figures..which Classified figures not Clutch average $26 and the Valaverse figure was $21 minus shipping, which is $8 flat from @Valaverse's website.
    1. Classified Series VAMP and Clutch set: $99.99 + $6.00 State Tax = $105.99
    2. PixisDesign Vamp MARK II Accessories: $25.00 + $1.50 State Tax = $ 26.50
    3. PixisDesign Vamp STINGER Steps: $15.00 + $0.90 State Tax = $ 15.90
    4. Gridiron Studios Rollcage Phase 1: $24.99 + $4.95 Shipping = $ 29.94
    5. Gridiron Studios Door Gunner Phase 2: $24.99 + $4.95 Shipping = $ 29.94
    6. Gridiron Studios Driver's Side Phase 3: $24.99 + $4.95 Shipping = $ 29.94
Total: Base Cost: $214:96 Shipping/Tax: $238.21 Costs of Addons: $132.22
So that's the breakdown if you're willing to own a VAMP and enhance it with these addon kits.
Hope this helps in your decision making processes!

Excellent breakdown. I'm in full support of independent creators and love to see folks stepping up to do things that maybe Hasbro should have but to have one Vamp completely decked out we're easily looking at it costing two (to two and a half) Vamps or one Vanguard......... and there's no cup holders.........lol😂

Great overview. Gridiron's pricing mixed with their propensity to slap their logo / initials in highly visible places has kept me from pulling the trigger on a good deal of their products. I am tempted to pick up the roll bar upgrade though.

Thank you for the comment Mcloutierg...yeah man they love product placement. Honestly the rollcage is a good buy, even if you don't use the little clips for the extinguisher or their priority backpacks, those clips could be used to hold other things...netting, long accessories...you name it.

Correction; It's continuously sold out on Hasbro Pulse because of it being under-produced (and bought up by scalpers whenever it does come back into stock.)

That's cool man! Of all the upgades, which one do you like the best? I haven't considered the roof/doors, back gunner, or front brush guard set yet....Do you have any pics on socials of your set? Are you considering ordering the Stinger from Hasbro, and if so, would you rebuy all the upgrades if they were made in black?

The door and roof racks. I love that it makes the VAMP more realistic in modern military desert vehicles would have similar looks. Going to put the engine adding today to finish the look.

    good review bro
it s great to have options, but the management needs help....
it would have been better to have big and cheaper packages
most look good, but are crazy expensive.
    the turret
who the heck still think those guns are manual?
man, these were remotely operated since 1982.... shown in the comics
and now, we even have an helmet to target the firing...
why do you think there s an aiming display on the visor?
on bumpy terrain, no one could stand at the back and hold there!
the mods make it impossible to shoot at the back
I d be only interested in the roof and doors
I d be interested in a rocket launcher + gattlings as a turret
like a combo of both vamp 1 and 2
the concept is flawed to have only one type of weapon...
in the 80s, I had the Sears vamp, and I combined with the stinger
with mods, one could have both in the same vehicle.
I like the inclusion of a chain with hooks though, very nice!
but the sides are too packed compared with the size of the vamp
the strange turret gun looks fine, but it can t be remotely operated...
it s like going back to the 60s s tech.
I don t have the vamp, and thanks to Hasbro s policy of selling only online,
    perhaps I never will....
but I d want an olive green Hummer anyways
I had the vamp in 82, [early adopter], and yeah, there s nostalgia, but, really,
the vamp is much more fit for Cobra as a prototype than for the Joes
'experimental weapons' as in the files for Cobra equipment
I have invested so much by now, I m going all the way!
I m making sure I don t get cheated with 'toy scale', the vamp is too small!
so I m actually planning on getting rcs, yep, rc is always scaled right, and it s no rat race either,
it s available now [1/12], one Hummer and an abram, olive green please!
it s more expensive? euh, not by much bro
figs fit in the interior, a driver is often included, who cares if he s an unknown guy...
and it s probably easy to fix with a reg figure with a little creativity.
it s like Hasbro does nt know which step of the dance we re at...
is the customer a kid or an adult?
pricing is for adults for sure, but bendy weapons?
and the girl, [whatever her name] says 'nobody dies in gi Joe'?
euh, she means like the ol cartoon designed for 8 y olds?
clearly, they re confused somehow, my universe is 13+ tv mission impossible - A team...
in 13+ movies, people die, not the heroes of course, but unknown bad guys do, like red shirts in star trek...
you KNOW the nameless will die, D
maybe Hasbro needs a wake up call here, I ve invested at least $3000 Can dollars here
my whole 80s collection cost me about $2500, almost had it all
I m not going back to 'gotta catch em all' mentality here, not at $45 Can + tax a pop, forget it!
I m going for an 82 - 83 elite Joe team and only essential Cobras
no Zartan, dreadnoks, or crimson anything.
    so now you know...
    good show bro

Not sure how this is "Fixing" the Vamp...They're optional third party kits that could enhance the existing vehicle...

    •  Před měsícem

@@junkioncraftsandbuilds my point is it shouldnt need enhancing at all why didnt it come with those options ?

    • @junkioncraftsandbuilds
      @junkioncraftsandbuilds  Před měsícem +3

Because these, Gridiron Studios addons, were never on the original VAMP series of vehicles. These are original designs from Gridiron. One could see them as optional enhancements to "modernize" the vamp beyond the '82 look.
As for the PixisDesign...These would create a MARK-II look for the existing VAMP..They were not on the '82 release of the vehicle. Hasbro did include doors and roof on the MARK-II and Cobra STINGER releases in '84. Both of those versions, I'm positive the Hasbro team will sell at a later time, since this mold can be an "evergreen" vehicle.
All that to say, if you're looking into why Hasbro didn't do it...1. They will with repaints and 2. Gridiron is making a modern OPTIONAL look for the Vamp.
It all comes down to the level or worth a collector has for them.

    •  Před měsícem

@@junkioncraftsandbuilds ooohhh ,so they make one version so they can sell it again for a better version ? Well ,it is hasbro so it makes sense now ( not really ). And how much did that one cost ? I mean if it was $20 who cares right ,but then how much did those add ons cost ? Im thinking they werent free . So in order to have the toy you really want you probably are going to spend almost as much as the original was again ,which brings me back to my original comment ( funny how that works ) . But its cool and you are right value is in the eye of the beholder but not mine and the add ons look great but then like i said why didnt the billion dollar company think of that ? But what do i know i only been collecting for 30 years surely i know nothing about toys and collecting them ...right ?

    • @junkioncraftsandbuilds
      @junkioncraftsandbuilds  Před měsícem +1

...so no, the addons were not free...from Hasbro nor PixisDesign nor Gridiron..they were all purchased by me. And I assume your finger is on the Classified pulse, so you're quite aware of the cost of the VAMP and Clutch set. So again, not quite sure where you're going with all of this? It appears that you don't like the addons...
