i was stationed at Langley AFB 76-80 and i was working the day John Denver came to film and fly one of our F 15s. did not get to see him while was getting his flight briefing but was waiting out on the flight line. when he came out and was walking in front of us going to his plane we had ready for him. he was saying he wanted a spectacular take off and as he said that he looked me right in my eyes gave me 2 thumbs up and a big smile. made my day. he got his spectacular takeoff full afterburner. it was a great day for me something i will never forget!

That was my dad that flew John in his plane -- Lt. Col. George Devorshak! What a treat it is to see someone else who remembers that day at Langley. I remember John getting hosed down by fire trucks when he got out of the plane!

Seeing him happy and young with Annie almost broke my heart. And then seeing Ken Kellett again, talk about memories. We miss you John.

And now, the James Webb Science Telescope has been launched and deployed, on its wat to a 1 million mile orbit around the Earth. If all goes as planned, (and now the most difficult challenges have been conquered) it should be able to see all the way back to the beginning of time. Unbelieveable)
