If I remember correctly, the mouldline remover is intended for kids to use, as GW can't sell knives to under 18s, or let them use knives in-store.
The use I've found for the mould line removes is terrain kits. They often have much more prominent lines (I believe some were made in China) and you have to cover much larger areas, this usually means using more force and speed which a scalpel blade can't handle (also, as you noted force + blade = danger).
something i learned from people building gundam kits was have 2 sets of clippers. a cheep £5 pair from amazon to hack the part off the sprue on the gate leaving very large nubs. then use the sharp £30 pair like godhands or redgrass for then removing the nub for a really clean cut then and keep the mini pristine.
Thanks for your fair and impartial review. 👍
Cheers for the review. I didn't think the clippers would replace my Tamiya ones (the same ones you use) but i was thinking about testing them out. You've saved me 30 quid there!
For the knife i've been using army painter ones now for ages and i don't really have any complaints. About 8 quid for a knife and 5 spare blades, so good for a long period of use. Can't see any reason to go for the citadel ones.
I suspect these tools are mainly aimed at the customer base that only shops GW products, or people new to the hobby they can sell these to at a premium in their stores as part of their initial sells of "things you need to get started".
Its a shame, but im not surprised in the slightest.
Good honest review mate
Please please please do a Goff Ghazghkull model. I am so unbelievably stuck on how to do his black armour in a decent way.
Really nice comparison with your other tools, as a user of the older Citadel snippers I think it's time to ask Santa what he stocks.
What´s your method for removing mold lines from concave surfaces? Genuinely interested…
£30 for those chunky clippers! Can get a pair of Godhand single bladed nippers for £35 which go through plastic like a hot knife.
Those RGG nippers are a copy of the Godhand.
Where are you getting two godhand nippers for £35?
@@peanusbenis5631 you know I don't mean two of them 🤣🤣
As for where for £35... not Amazon. Cheaper to import from Plaza Japan.
I use a scalpel, and yeah, it's skinny. Easy fix for anyone who wants something chunkier is to wrap parts of the handle in masking or electrical tape.
I suspect the moldline remover was initially intended for kids to have an option that doesn't involve a sharp object.
Also, i have watched a number of reviews and not one of them has been particularly glowing.... it's telling that very few are comfortable endorsing these products.
I'm sure they are good, but more than double the cost of what you will pay from AK Interactive or similar
Imagine promoting RGG roduct in GW ad 😅
I LOVE my RGG clippers!
imagine being so bad with money you buy any of these lol
cheap ass dollar store stamped steel crap.
Over priced and rubbish!🤨
