  • Today, thanks to South Dade Toyota, I got my hands on a 2024 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro finished in the 24’ TRD Pro Exclusive color Terra. The 5th gen 4Runner has been around for 15 years. This model year marks the end of the road for this beast of a model as the 25’ MY will be the all-new 6th gen model. In this video I go in-depth of this model and give you my honest opinion if you should get one or wait for the 6th gen model.
    Huge thanks to South Dade Toyota! Please make sure to ask for Alejandro B!!

    Absolutely love the 24! Not interested in the 25 at all for many reasons.

    Great video! I just bought one myself in Ice Cap. The seat headrest doesn't have to be removed, you just have to tilt it so it slides into that gap in the lower section. Its better than you thought it was!

      Thank you! That would explain the lever on the side of the headrest. That actually really really cool though! Congratulations on your new 4Runner!

    Nice review. You can also give yourself a little more space while sitting in the rear seats by reclining them.

    Nice review - well done. I did get one of these for the reasons you mentioned. The ‘24 TRD Pro in Terra really is a good looking 4Runner, if I do say so. I picked up mine 5/11/24. Plan on keeping this one from now on. like the FJ Cruiser, I think it will become more valuable as time goes on. What Toyota has done to their successful line up of trucks and SUV’s is disheartening. They have killed the Tundra, the Sequoia, the Land Cruiser, the Tacoma and now the 4Runner with this drivetrain they are using. It’s sad. I bought my first Toyota, new in 1983 and have been a fan ever since, but this direction they are heading sucks. Again, that’s why I picked up a ‘24 TRD Pro in Terra now while it’s still available, but time is running out. Toyota seems to be “gearing down” on production of the 5th generation 4Runner. My Toyota dealership said that there are only 6 Pro’s in the SET Region as of 5/17.

      Congratulations on the 4Runner TRD Pro!! It’s going to definitely going up in value over the years

      Congratulations!
      Where do people find pros without $7k markups?
      I put a deposit on an off-road premium because it's most of the pro at less cost, but I would have sprung for a pro if I could get it at MSRP

      That’s my plan too. It’s really sad to see what Toyota will become. Wish me luck finding the Terra color or at least the underground

    • @MichaelSmith-57
      @MichaelSmith-57 Před 7 dny

      @@hectorricardo2739 The Underground color is gorgeous as well. I chose the Terra because it is the TRD Pro color for ‘24, but Underground really is good looking. But hey, I like it in White also.

      @@Zenergist Thank you. I live in the S.E.T. Region and getting one at MSRP is common here. I actually was able to get this one at a slight discount, but MSRP “shouldn’t” be so hard to do. But again, not sure where you are trying to buy one at MSRP. The TRD ORP is a great option as well, because it is the same drivetrain with a manual transfer case also - same as with the FJ Cruiser.

      Drones, gets old real fast especially on the highway. 4Runner has the worst version of the TRD exhaust and it serves absolutely no purpose.

    4runner is about to get neutered like the sequoia, Tundra and Tacoma next year.

    Did the exhaust drone bother you at all?

    • @soflojoshautoreview
      @soflojoshautoreview  Před 3 měsíci

      It wasn’t to bad like what a loud after market exhaust would sound like. I liked the raw feeling of hearing the exhaust into the cabin.

      It's bad, I had one and hated it. Fine for a 20 minute test drive, horrible daily noise.

    $64K OTD for a 14-year-old car model with abysmal MPG all the while gas prices has risen a whole lot since 2010, it just doesn't make sense. People question reliability of the new engines, but this is Toyota we're talking about not some bullshit American brand. I'll admit that Toyota USA is ruining Toyota's reputation, but if Toyota JP can put Toyota USA to heel, I think reliability won't be a problem. Furthermore, for such a heavy car, the 4Runner 5G performed dissapointingly in the IIHS updated crash test.
    Also, the speculation on price is just nonsensical. Cars ultimately at it's very core are depreciating assets, Toyota though gravity defying only does so marginally better. Yes, It's true during the pandemic folks were able to sell their TRD Pro and make a profit, but those times are long gone. The current administration has propped up the job numbers, however, once the new administration comes in we will see more people unemployed, free money from government is all but dried up by now, the resumption of student loans, and the stock market isnt growing as rapidly as we saw a year or two ago. All this would contribute to people being more frugal with their money. Americans for the most part, I find are reactionary by nature, they live in the moment. For now they will spend with wreckless abandon, but once the tax and repo man come knocking they'll start changing their ways.

    2024 TRD OffRoad is the best vehicle ever made, get it with KDSS and no sunroof, but not the Pro. Racecar shocks on an offroad SUV, lol. c'mon man. Even the CEO of Fox shocks said they were outdated, the 2025's have better shocks.
