  • Peace friends! I took a quick trip to my hometown in Maryland for this one. In this video, I test out the Yashica C medium format camera with 1996 expired Kodak Vericolor II film. It was my FIRST time photographing in medium format, so I was really excited. Let me know what you think!

    Wow those colors, I have so many memories with those colors! Lol when my grandparents gave me a film camera, my parents told me, "girl, you don't need the new stuff when we still got this old stuff *points to 20 rolls of expired Kodak on the bookshelf*" I also have a Yashica almost exactly like yours, and I love the square format!

      Thank you for stopping by! Haha the parentals are hip! Test out the expired Kodak rolls puhhlease! Yeah, I've def fallen in love with the square format! How can I see your work?

      @@crystalanokam I've been going light on the social media, so not a lot of my work is floating out there! I have some photos of my siblings taken with the old stuff. I'm pretty sure I shot most of it already, but lol the camera I used that time had light leaks, so you get these fun colored streaks over there. Totally adds to the aesthetic. I did a little arts and crafts project and redid all the foam in my camera, so no more light leaks, but that stuff was special! I think my dad forgot to use it before he went digital, and the color shifts and the light leaks, ah it was 💗 I am on insta and you can find me there with the same user so you can see some of the stuff I've been up to. There isn't anything I would say is groundbreaking out there since a lot of my other work isn't up, but I'd be happy to DM you some of the other things I do on there

    I love the 'nothing allowed' shot! I used to have a Yashica like that until one day I dropped it! Medium format square is super fun. Thanks for making the video - I just bought my daughter this very camera and hopefully she'll find her way here.

    Love using TLRs. They're so much fun and a great statement piece too. It looks like the expired Vericolor gave some really interesting colour shifts, but I think it really adds to the summery vibes of the photos.

      yeah! TLR is my first medium format and it’s been nice! I think any Yashica or even Rollieflex TLR are too notch and quite inexpensive. I got this camera for $200 from facebook marketplace. Expired film is always fun, and you never know what you gonna get till it’s developed, which is exciting!

    • @crystalanokam

      Great question, I used the scan combination of the Epson v550 scanner & negative lap pro lightroom plug-in to scan my negatives. i found this method created the photo results i love in terms of colors, depth & detail.

    How much did it cost you to have your film developed

    • @crystalanokam
      @crystalanokam  Před 6 měsíci

      the price varies depending on the type (35mm vs 120mm) and if it's b&w or color. I would say between $10-$15 for developing and scans per roll in my area

  • @subconsciousexpress876
