  • A Domino’s Pizza delivery man's devastation after standing in the rain on a delivery only to get no tip was captured on camera by a coworker. Malik Ambersley, 23, of St. Petersburg, Florida said that “during the pandemic, things like tips are important for me to be able to feed my family.” He said he wasn’t fired, that his team was understanding and talked him down. It’s a growing trend during the pandemic, as many are scraping to make ends meet. #InsideEdition

We can’t talk to our bosses or companies about fair pay. It equates to keep slave working here or get out. We’re looked at as retalitative if we even kindly ask about higher pay opportunities. Our ability to think and work and educate ourselves and pronounce ourself as seriously great workers to society is looked to as Not enough not worthy and greedy. More of us workers need to be able to drop some balls and a dock and we need to seriously have a revolution across the world even! For fair pay! Usually I’d get home around 3:00am and then be expected at the store at 10:00am. Most people didn’t tip so another manger was making deals with other businesses that we frequently delivered to(basically he’d give them their order for “free” but they would pay me the price of their order in cash and I got to pocket that). Overall bad experience. That delivery driver is paying for gas to get food to all the customers houses and putting wear and tear on their personal car as well. Typically the delivery fee goes towards the extra expenses like the packaging, insurance liability, napkins, bags, and other costs that used to process the payments. Doesn't cover the driver. So when the driver provides the luxury and privilege of delivery, it's usually a two way street where the customer pays for the driver to go through the hassle of delivering and the risks associated. So its only right to tip something. However if the fault of the driver is rude or just plain doesn't care or put effort, it makes sense not to pay. Typically the driver is doing everything they can to earn that money. So as a personal rule of my moral standard and opinion, if you can't pay too deliver and tip, then please don't order cause it's not right. Just get up and go get it yourself.

@@matthewwatson668 I don’t agree with this at all, how about if your restaurant cannot afford to pay your properly then stop hiring people. Why am I paying you, I am not your employer. They need to pay you your $12-$15/hr. If they can’t afford to do that, they shouldn’t even own an establishment and you need to look elsewhere for employment. I have a retail job where I get paid hourly, does that make sense for me to pay my hard earned money for food then to proceed and pay you. A tip is to show gratitude and appreciation towards your server or someone going out of their way to assist you. I’m all about that, but you shouldn’t have to rely on me to give you what your employer should.
