Domino’s Delivery Driver Has Meltdown Over Receiving No Tip

- A Domino’s Pizza delivery man's devastation after standing in the rain on a delivery only to get no tip was captured on camera by a coworker. Malik Ambersley, 23, of St. Petersburg, Florida said that “during the pandemic, things like tips are important for me to be able to feed my family.” He said he wasn’t fired, that his team was understanding and talked him down. It’s a growing trend during the pandemic, as many are scraping to make ends meet. #InsideEdition

I repeat tipping is not required, the company that employs you should be responsible to pay you a livable wage. You should never be paid so little that a optional tip becomes a mandatory value to survive. Current tip culture needs to be changed.
Tipping is expected but it's not mandatory. It's a privilege not a right.

True, but if he’s out in the rain for 5 minutes, he’s deserving of it.
15 dollars means:
Less hours due to profit drop
Less workers due to budget cuts
Less stores due to loss revenue and unable to pay rent to keep the store open
Which worsens the problem of profit

Why don't you talk about how restaurants charge "delivery fees" and never give them to the drivers. The restaurant owner pockets the delivery fees.
Lol. Its included in the pay rate. Why do you think drivers get paid more than those behind the counter?
Demand a higher pay? Problem solved. Or go work for a delivery service that gives a fair commission, like most delivery apps do in other countries.
@@brittneydavis7846 umm hi I use to be a delivery driver and worked behind the counter as well at pizza hut....I can 10,000% assure you that you get paid more when you're in the store working and then you delivering. I would get paid $9.00 an hour working the cash register until the cashier came in and then IMMEDIATELY dropped to $2.15 an hour when that person takes over and I'm now a delivery driver.
Typically the delivery fee goes towards the extra expenses like the packaging, insurance liability, napkins, bags, and other costs that used to process the payments. Doesn't cover the driver. So when the driver provides the luxury and privilege of delivery, it's usually a two way street where the customer pays for the driver to go through the hassle of delivering and the risks associated. So its only right to tip something. However if the fault of the driver is rude or just plain doesn't care or put effort, it makes sense not to pay. Typically the driver is doing everything they can to earn that money. So as a personal rule of my moral standard and opinion, if you can't pay too deliver and tip, then please don't order cause it's not right. Just get up and go get it yourself.
@@B_tru_2_u at least you don’t complain about the pay or do you?

@CZcams Moderator not enough tho
@CZcams Moderator They don't pay them enough, service worker is one of the worst job here. Why? The reason people do not tip is because of all the delivery charges. The price can instantly go up from $20 bucks to $40 for a food delivery. I have stopped using these types of services and instead just take out my own food.
Well this is from Dominos so they probably only paid the delivery fee and a few dollars tax. Not an extra $20. It’s the food delivery APPS like DoorDash and GrubHub that add a ridiculous amount of fees to an order. Most people order straight from Dominos, not using a 3rd party delivery.

I'm still confused as to how tipping which was a custom where the customer shows appreciation to the staff by giving them extra money have slowly but surely turned into mandatory by corporations by giving their staff less than minimum wage and guilt tripping customers to pay the staff "tips" in order for the staff to survive.
I realized this when I started waiting tables at a restaurant in Dearborn Michigan for less than $2 an hour. Tips meant everything! After that I told my friends, if you cannot afford a tip, go to a fast-food place where you don't have table service.
What's next? You tip your mailman, the cashier at the grocery store, the guy who sold you your iphone, the person who did your taxes, the person who fixed your computer, the librarian who issued you the books to read?
