  • Jeff Nichols' "The Bikeriders" has been one of the better films I've watched recently. The sight, sound and acting are superb. But is it a movie that taps something deeper in our society?
It's a film worth thinking about.

Very good point - about the father angle. I've seen the film twice already, in the theater, in less than a week's time, and I'm obsessed. I can't wait to see it again. I'm a bikerider myself, but not in a club, and certainly not like these guys, although I've done large bike runs and cross-country trips. I'm an anomaly: a grandmother and musician, a female who rides solo nearly all the time - a lone wolf myself, so I felt the bikers' hearts. The Kid was, of course, the darkest part of the film, and your take on the effect of his home life on his life's direction is spot on. Even Benny's father being gone informs his own sense of both being independent and being lost at the same time. I'm glad I ran across your review in my obsession, well done.

Thanks so much for watching and contributing as one with experience on the road. Great point about Benny as well.

This is a rare gift nowadays. I believe it will become cult classics in the years to come. I was blown away by performances, visuals, atmosphere. It's overall great in my eyes. Thank you for reviewing it!

I think that as well! The theater runs are hard right now. It’s just not the golden age of cinema-going. However, stories like these will definitely make their way into homes and be classics in their own right. Thanks for leaving a comment!
