After 4 months and many Overlanding trips to Baja, Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona,, California I’m finally ready to do a walk through on my ORU Designs Camper. is carrying gas tank open on sun not dangerous? in my city it hit 45 degrees celcius (113 F) but under the sun its like 60 degrees ( 140 F). in such hot weather its dangerous right?

Gasoline (petrol)'s auto combustion point is about 235 degrees..... Celsius.
If it gets that hot, ya got bigger problems.

I do not carry gas in the tank unless I’m on a long trail. So it sits empty till then
