The Tamanique Waterfalls are only a 30 minute drive from Playa El Tunco in El Salvador, and are the perfect adventure destination for locals and tourists alike. The hike down to the waterfalls is beginner/intermediate friendly and is about 2.5 miles. Once there you can swim in the natural crystal clear pools below the falls or if you're feeling super adventurous you can jump off the cliffs into the water down below. Just watch your footing because the rocks can be very slippery. The water is a little chilly but only worth mentioning if you suffer from cold urticaria like me. Make sure to save some of your strength because the hike back up is mostly uphill and also 2.5 miles. I am so happy I went and so glad you came with us! This is a bucket list experience for sure!

I am a Gringa married to a Salvadoreño and our daughters are Salvadoreñas, I am very grateful to call El Salvador home 💙 I moved to El Salvador for love, first for my husband, and then for my new country. My goal is to share the real El Salvador (the way I see it) the beauty, the warmth, the culture, and the people that have welcomed me with open arms. Many people only know about El Salvador from what the media has chosen to shown them, and I'm trying to change that. I encourage all who visit El Salvador to enjoy its beauty and be generous to those that live here. To appreciate this Amazing country as it is and not to soil it with bad intentions or behavior.

Salva is 100% the best tour guide in El Salvador. I did a tour of San Salvador with him and he picked us up right at our hotel, drove us to the the city and showed us all the beautiful sights to see!! Highly recommend!

Not every day 😁 many are like today where I'm cleaning the house, hanging out with my kiddos, figuring out bills, and editing the next video. But I am very blessed to have such an amazing family and live in such a beautiful country that we get to see and share together 💙 I will never forget this waterfall trip I got to experience with my Aunt it means the world to me she was there 😁 Tamanique is incredible and jumping from the cliff is a core memory maker for sure I highly highly recommend the trip Carolina and I love that you got to experience it with us too 💙💙💙💙

Iv been back every yr and knock on wood iv never seen snakes.
I have a special fear of of pythons because as a kid my upstairs neighbors used to have them as pets and they would routinely escape and we were told to check our toilets before going to the bathroom because they can swim through pipes

Totally agree John! I would definitely wouldn't call this trail little kid friendly it was a bit more adventurous than I had thought it would be but I loved every minute of it 💙
