  • Kirkland police said nine juveniles were arrested Sunday when they were caught in the act of attempting to steal a vehicle.
The Kirkland Police Department said officers responded to a report of suspicious activity at the Juanita Country Club condo complex on April 21. A resident of the community called police and reported two vehicles entered the complex at a high rate of speed, with several people wearing ski masks.
Arriving officers reportedly found the suspects attempting to steal a Kia and arrested several of them, while multiple of the suspects fled the area on foot.
Kirkland police, with aid from Bothell and Bellevue law enforcement, arrested the five suspects who fled the scene. Police said community members helped law enforcement by calling to report the location of the suspects fleeing through yards.

Stealing someone's car could be destroying the thing that is allowing that person to function, to go to work, to go shopping and take care other necessary transportation needs...if they aren't affluent, this could be the thing that wrecks them...sad to see these juveniles don't get that....

I always thought parents were responsible for their kids until 18 and what kids did the parents were responsible for, guess I was wrong! I didn’t want to see disappointment in my mom’s eyes, guess one would call that respect. Something lacking in kids today and the fault lies with the parents. Hold them accountable and the bad behaviors would probably decrease.

If these kids are living with subsidized housing aka Welfare then themselves and their families need to be removed from that privilege. Housing authority’s regularly take paint samples and test for drugs. If the test comes back positive then those families are immediately evicted. Need to do the same for crime. Imagine subsidizing expensive housing and be rewarded by criminal and gang conduct. I will gladly live drug and crime free in public housing. It saves me $2400 a month. Thousands would say the same.

What neighborhood did the suspects come from? Eastside (Bellevue/Kirkland) or Southern (Rainier Beach, Skyway, Renton, Tukwila or Kent)
If it's Eastside, then growing up in a nice neighborhood is no guarantee it will deter Teen Crime.
If it's Southern, then Beware - the whole County is considered Teen Crime territory.

So nice of these scholars to share their lovely culture with the rest of the community. In all seriousness, these charges will all either be dropped or the criminals will be allowed to plead guilty to greatly reduced charges. Kids who do this have been asked why they commit crimes like this in the first place. They always point to the fact that they know they will face no consequences. This is the result of activist judges and leftist/progressive prosecutors and other bureaucrats who have a direct say in how tough police are against specific crimes. This is quite literally the result of democrat policy in action. some collateral damage in all this is that Hyundais and Kias are now hundreds of dollars to insure at minimum, that is if your insurance doesnt flat out refuse coverage altogether.
