I actually really like Booster Gold for his flaws because of how real he is. Admit it if you had powers or had a chance to get famous with future tech you would take that chance right away.
He really got better though after like 52 the event not new 52 and stuff he became an actually good guy who just put on a facade so the time stream isn’t messed up as he saves the multiverse so so many times but can’t tell anyone and he’s fine with it
It should be noted that when Booster went back to being an arrogant glory hog prick that was him putting on an act to hide the fact that he was working as a "time cop" to help maintain the status quo of the DC universe. He had to distract villains from the real work he was doing.

I'm sorry, I have to call this out every time I see it; Reed Richards did not deliberately expose his family/space crew to cosmic radiation; that was a much later retcon, and a lame one. Marvel retconned characters so much they eventually lost all meaning. It's a cheap device, and shows a lack of imagination of the writers of Marvel.

Hank Pym as a character has never recovered from that. Writers, including some of the best in the business like Kurt Busiek, have tried to rehabilitate him, but in the end, they've come up short; which is really a shame because at one time he really was a good character.

I was quite shock when I found out Raven in DC original comics was kind of plain. Tom King's straight up character assassination of Booster really hurt and I generally like his writing. Was promised pay off in heroes in crisis, but that was a big whiffer for me.

Most of this hate is result of in-house creation confusion. When too many confusing plotlines result in crazy retcons, it's very disappointing to the readers. Marvel should have stuck to Carol being the good hero that she was created to be, instead of ginning up antagonism between she and Tony so much. Just saying.

In most comics she and Tony are friends who respect each other but the writers keep bringing up a pointless rivalry between the two. It doesn’t even work cause the characters aren’t on the same playing field. They have different skills, powers and roles within the avengers. If she and Thor had an ongoing rivalry it might be more believable but I don’t get why they keep putting her and Tony at odds.

I'm confused, is it hatred from characters within the comics or hatred the fans have for the characters being mentioned? Because this feels like its both at times.
What helped Booster Gold get so respect was his friendship with Blue Beetle. This bromance portrayed Booster in a much better light and turned him into a genuine hero. Bluee Beetle was like Batman in that he had 0 powers but was very intelligent. He and Booster were perfect together because Blue Beetle was the brains and Booster Gold the brawn with 25th century memories. But when Blue beetle died there went Booster's credibility as a hero. Retcon's can hurt and bring hate on even the most beloved of characters.

About how everyone got on Batman's case for not trusting Hal ... surprised you didn't mention it, but Hal went all "Emerald Twilight" because he was possessed by Parallax, and a whole bunch of other people went nuts when they were subsequently possessed by Parallax, so it's simply not reasonable to dislike Hal for what he did while under Parallax's sway.
Guy Gardner is decently likable in his Young Justice bit appearences. Maybe, the problem is that they keep putting him front and center when he is a clear cut supporting character. There's just not enough there for him to be in the spotlight, but he has his uses.

They created her to be a-kind-of "mystery" character and had no ideas how to developing her, then put her in random places just because. Typical of DC, btw. The Teen Titans show really did the justice of exploring Raven's potential, made her a great character that everyone loves.

yeah the character assassination had been going on for a while even before CW2. Ever since she became Capt Marvel she was essentially a very different character, acting completely differently. She wasn't a real character anymore, she was a mouthpiece. The ruining started before CW2. It really hurt to see my favorite female hero get twisted like that
JLU was a great version of Booster just wish we could’ve seen a bit more of him.

Tom King's straight up character assassination of Booster really hurt and I generally like his writing. Was promised pay off in heroes in crisis, but that was a big whiffer for me.

Oddly yes. My mind was drifting at the end of Guy’s breakdown, and when you said Starfox I did think of the game, and then you brought it up. Just for that alone I like this clip.
Most of this hate is result of in-house creation confusion. When too many confusing plotlines result in crazy retcons, it's very disappointing to the readers. Marvel should have stuck to Carol being the good hero that she was created to be, instead of ginning up antagonism between she and Tony so much. Just saying.
...it's not about the hate readers have for characters, its literally about who the characters themselves hate. This list has nothing to do with us, the readers
In most comics she and Tony are friends who respect each other but the writers keep bringing up a pointless rivalry between the two. It doesn’t even work cause the characters aren’t on the same playing field. They have different skills, powers and roles within the avengers. If she and Thor had an ongoing rivalry it might be more believable but I don’t get why they keep putting her and Tony at odds.

What helped Booster Gold get so respect was his friendship with Blue Beetle. This bromance portrayed Booster in a much better light and turned him into a genuine hero. Bluee Beetle was like Batman in that he had 0 powers but was very intelligent. He and Booster were perfect together because Blue Beetle was the brains and Booster Gold the brawn with 25th century memories. But when Blue beetle died there went Booster's credibility as a hero. Retcon's can hurt and bring hate on even the most beloved of characters.

About how everyone got on Batman's case for not trusting Hal ... surprised you didn't mention it, but Hal went all "Emerald Twilight" because he was possessed by Parallax, and a whole bunch of other people went nuts when they were subsequently possessed by Parallax, so it's simply not reasonable to dislike Hal for what he did while under Parallax's sway.

Captain Marvel was pretty good in the Avengers cartoon show. Probably helped that she was voiced by Commander Shepard.
Guy Gardner is decently likable in his Young Justice bit appearences. Maybe, the problem is that they keep putting him front and center when he is a clear cut supporting character. There's just not enough there for him to be in the spotlight, but he has his uses.
