Ya! Just a reminder, though, often no-kill shelters are privately owned, meaning they can pick what animals to take in. Public shelters are required to take in all animals brought to them, so they tend to get more sick animals, which leads them to have higher euthanasia rates. So just because a shelter is a "kill-shelter" does not mean it doesn't do very valuable work!

I foster, and I highly recommend it to everyone! You get adorable animals on your schedule, meaning it is a lot less of a commitment than adopting! It can be tricky, but most animals I get are actually very easy to take care of.

Feline Leukemia cat owner here!! They need homes too! Positive cats need to stay fully indoors and have regular check ups. But other than that my kitty is almost 9 ❤🥲
Maya's the kind of person that if you ask for a hair tie and she got pig tails, she'll switch to a pony tail just to give you one of hers.

The fact that most of those dogs are obviously pit bull mixes is itself some kind of social commentary...and not a positive one. 😪
They do have a pretty bad rep, at least in my country, often when thwre is an attack it's a pit bull, recently a woman lost an arm and the vision on one of her eyes, so people get scared.
@@bluester7177 By "social" commentary, I meant about people, not dogs. People created the breed specifically to fight other dogs. People buy the dogs to symbolize their own "toughness," or that they have control over a tough, potentially dangerous animal. Responsible breeders can produce a nice pitbull, but unfortunately most are produced by "backyard breeders."
