President Nixon announced that the combined forces of the United States and South Vietnam will attack North Vietnamese military bases in Cambodia along the border with South Vietnam.

Nixon made the case to the American people by talking to them intelligently as adults - something that no other President since had the ability to do, least of all the current clown in office - as a result, Nixon won re-election and did indeed end the Vietnam war.
Nixon dragged out the withdrawal from Southeast Asia into his second term for pure political expediency. Further, the military conducted both air and ground operations in Cambodia against the NVA for year prior to this speech, and the pointless bombing continued late into August 1973. Nixon lied to the American public about the true nature of the war and our involvement in it. Moreover, unless you can reply with some convincing evidence by way of reference or link to establish your assertion that Biden’s conduct of our assistance to Ukraine isn’t above board, I’m going to assume you’re just talking out of your ass like every other sub-cretinous Trumpscab imbecile

People in general were more intelligent back then. Nowadays you gotta speak to an audience like they have a 6th grade education. All that to say, while this all sounds smart, he’s leaving A LOT on the table and like Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Johnson, he was extremely dishonest about actions that widened the war in Vietnam like bombing Cambodia.
He didn't "widen" the war; the Viet-Cong and N. Vietnamese were already in Cambodia.... They were also in Laos as well. He simply responded to the aggression of the NVA to prevent them from sending men and material into S. Vietnam from those two countries. @@S0nyToprano
Had Johnson did a couple of years before that ( clean out the sanctuary ) the war outcome would be far more different

Because it would've prevented the North Vietnamese from funneling troops and weapons to the Viet Cong in South Vietnam. Also would have to do that in Laos as well.. ...That being said; the U.S. had no business being in South East Asia in the first place as the area was never of vital interest to them. @@cubsfan1622000
