i feel like its the sort of game you won't play with randoms anyway but with mates over discord
I appreciate the fact that you have AI helpers, I wish more games implement this feature cuz when I play games like Borderlands, Diablo or Hell Divers I always feel like I'm missing out playing solo or I'm forced to use specific characters that don't need teammates.
Diablo or borderlands are solo nice but helldivers with bots would be nice
I have no choice my internet is trash gotta play solo happy they have it
It kills me that there is no local co-op. I want to play with my girlfriend and I don't think any of my friends would be interested in this game.
Yeah it REALLY needs local co-op!
Bro fr reckon they will update it ?
Man ifeel the same way
Same here. My gamebuddy is not interested. What platform are you playing on?
Xbox
I've played this game both in solo and with a friend. So far, I've actually had more success in solo runs than with the friend.
I do think a part of that is that I have a full squad of three in Solo, versus just the two of us in Co-Op, but I also just find it can be easier to make snap decisions when playing solo. Maybe when another friend joins and we can try running with the full squad with people at all the controls that opinion may change though.
Side Note: That's a cool af avatar you have.
As for online coop with the random, Im worrying someone will join in mid-game, then wasting all the resources or opening all doors that quit.
That can't happen fortunately - matchmaking is for lobbies specifically. One the game starts it's locked
I haven't been able to find a single active coop game once. Seems like nobody is playing this online 😕
The AI has definitely gotten a lot better since the opendevs lol! But it's still a bit frustrating that they just *won't* shove turrets at all, ever. I'm not sure they even shove monsters either, but turrets at least is dumb: they don't upgrade them, and they WILL let them die even though they're standing right next to it and could keep it alive. Plus, it makes any build that uses "shove" triggers for bonuses or effects, virtually useless if you're playing solo. My only gripe with it at this point tbh, and it's way less an issue for me than the dread of multiplayer "what sort of teammate will you get this time" surprise. :'-D
I feel shoving would make the AI straight up OP honestly - so I don't think they should implement that.
I thought they could make this one of the difficulty levels differences, or maybe put a hard limit on how they do it. But not at all is definitely frustrating, even if you're right. IMO it also limits who you can take with you as AI (if you don't plan on micro-managing) because some characters are def underused without shove.
My question is do the AI bots have all your meta progressions and customizations or are they vanilla standard versions of the heroes
They are your full characters you unlock and can control - except that when you control your other character, they are taken over by AI.
So yes, you have everything.
@@HDHaZmYawesome thanks for the reply
So wait, there is no text chat, only optional voice chat? I do worry about cooperation between randoms, wonder how things will pan out with firsthand experience here soon
There is a Ping System with basic commands but unfortunately no text chat indeed.
@@HDHaZmY no text chat...aww man, that means no racism and flaming!
Me over here about to have an opinion on a game I haven't played because I'm confuaing Endless Dungeon with Dungeon of the Endless.
As someone who is currently playing Dungeon of the Endless every day with my buddy as prep - it's very similar apart from the Dust Mechanics and my only criticism in comparison is the lack of difficulty
@HDHaZmY good to hear; been a while since I messed with a twin stick shooter; thanks for sharing. :)
There will be multiple difficulty modes in ED, although i don't know if it's going to be available from release day or a later update. But they've made 4 modes, from Friendly to Hard, with both differences in monster difficulty, and resources gained per door. Definitely adds a challenge (on top of the cocktails, which have been rewritten to make it more clear they're difficulty challenges)!
Can anyone tell me if the difficulty mode settings are already on the console versions of the game? Specifically I'm interested in knowing if I get this for my PS5 is there a FRIENDLY difficulty setting that I can select? I would probably be playing solo at least at first and I'd like to start on the easiest setting. I hear this game is better with friends and it can get fairly hard at least later on so I'm much more likely to get it if there is a FRIENDLY setting. Thanks.
Yes, I'm sorry to say it is NOT. It's definitely coming, but the launch version on console is a few weeks behind the PC version (it takes longer to validate patches) and there's several things that were just recently introduced and haven't been ported yet: the difficulties, the charged weapons auto-charging & firing when you maintain the trigger pressed, and the 3-players solo mode no longer augmenting the difficulty of the run. If these are essential to you, you should wait a bit more before playing. There's also a few bugs on console, not affecting everyone but some really frustrating (like a game crash / hard reset of the conole causing a wipe of your save data... ^^; ) and it will take a few more days to fix, especially since they can't get the amount of data PC users can provide from their save/temp files & player logs...
AI can perfectly serve as another kind of turrets for me. I just put them at the usual place where I build turrets as defense.
I hear you are playing with controller - is playing mouse+keyboard viable option ?
Yeah it is totally!
As a KBM player who rarely ever touch my controller, i tried it a bit because "twin-stick shooter" so i thought maybe it would be better for once.... and it was *horrendous* lmao. The keyboard is so much more NATURAL and comfortable! %D
Is it possible to play co-op only online or can I play with my friend on the same couch?
It is Online Only I think!
It is supposed to also have couch co-op as well from what I have read.
The game is solo with 2 bots easy but if you play coop with 1 friend the game is harder
Can you play coop for 1 friend and have an AI as a 3rd player??
No, but you can play coop with just 2 people and not 3, as in solo.
Anyone know if you can play on the same console with two different online accounts? Or do you need two separate systems?
You mean split screen.
@@timemage88x13 yes but with two different online accounts both playing online at the same time
On one console
On one console
how do u make the ai stop following you? for solo play
I am not sure what's on PC but RB on Controller opens the communication wheel!
Spacebar opens the communication wheel on PC, which will allow you to tell either or both of your companions to follow/stop following. It can also be used to tell the Crystal Bot to follow your character.
has crossplay?
wait someone told me that co-op has NOT a shared progression right now.. true false? thx alot
It is 90% shared - I have a video on it - make your own decision : czcams.com/video/kzVYS2qy-BI/video.html
ah jeah i watched it right now :) thx alot awesome videos!
This may surprise you, but not everyone wants shared story progression. I like to use co-op in games as a way of scouting ahead. To watch how the player choices affect them and their story before I decide in my story.
you cant even co op between series x and one x...already requested refund.
Crossgen play is coming very soon, they just didn't have it quite ready on time for the release version.
@@louvellyn Crossgen play should be quite nice, it would open up the pool of players considerably.
Although quite a bit of coding would be required to get it right, not sure how much smaller game studios would be willing to invest into such an effort.
I was pretty excited for this game, but the DRM, paid headstart, missing text chat(and push to talk) make me realize, its made for consoles. Not a big deal, if they didn't snub their current audience in the process.
It's not really "made for consoles" at all, on the contrary PC players currently have a much better experience because they can fix issues very fast and update whenever. Also for the "headstart", it would matter if there was a leaderboard or some competition like that, but there isn't. Once you've unlocked the places & heroes (which is relatively easy if you're not playing on Hard) you're not going to be lagging behind folks who did that 2 days before you. There might be a skill difference with people who played throughout development, but that's not *paid* headstart so it's very different, they're the folks who helped the devs finish the game...
