- Well friends, it finally happened! After 8 long years of owning slow cars, it was finally time to get into something fun again. And thanks to @Deutschworksperformance for making this happen as with anything car related on the channel 😂 The car is an absolute blast but unfortunately is gonna have to sit for a little while while I deal some license issues from quite a few years back. Hopefully it wont take too long and I can be out ripping this absolute riot of a car! Thanks for watching and supporting everyone. I appreciate you and hope you have a great rest of your day!

Congrats on the new whip bro! I had a 2011 GTI (pretty sure your cc has the same engine). Depending on the year, those engines are known to have timing chain tensioner issues. I'm pretty sure they updated it after 2013. Just wanted to give you a heads up since I grenaded my engine (stock, not tuned) at 100k miles. Its pretty easy to check and see if it's the old or updated one. There's a removable plug on the timing chain cover (behind the passenger wheel well). If it is, that car should treat ya right for a long time!
I did the timing when the motor was out at 105k!!

Good morning from Kansas. Just started watching the video and had to comment on what you were talking about at the start. I'm with you Matthias, driving is my therapy as well. Music and driving. We just moved back to Kansas from Florida. I worked in Orlando but we lived near the Space Center on east coast. 35 min drive each way. Also you must teach your better half to drive a stick. My parents wouldn't let me get my license until I could drive a stick. My wife couldn't drive one when we started dating. I pulled over one day and made her learn on the spot. Beautiful new whip! Have fun with it.

With it. And that’s ok! It’s not always about the aesthetic, but rather the feel of driving, the happiness that it brings. This car was a project from the beginning, and when we made the final step to have it look pretty, I got bumped back to square one. The car that needed a windshield and headliner, ended up in worse shape than it ever had. There was however one thing going for it and that’s the drivetrain. This car makes 444 horsepower with roughly 500ftlbs of torque. On the right tire setup this car is capable of a low 3 second 60, and currently will achieve speeds of 180+ it does this with a combination of timing, fuel, boost, and gearing. The plan had been to remove the windshield and replace the headliner through that opening, but when I got it back totaled it, the focus shifted to making it reliable and safe again. The body needs some work, and there are some missing pieces, but what Matthias wanted he got, a fun, fast car, that needs some love. Everything left on this car with the exception of the two cuts on the a pillars, Matthias can fix and upgrade himself and truly make that connection with the car as I have. I’ll do the metal work, and together we’ll swap the headliner after removing the window at Laramie Auto Glass. This car is perfect in every way, and will continue to blow all of you away. All these blemishes will soon be remedied and then nobody will have anything to say other than “damn that things fast” I’m proud of you buddy as so glad to be a part of your journey. I can’t wait for the progression! As with anything, if you want to make something fast and fun, but maintain safety while doing it, hit me up!

Both my cars are broken one I'm replacing the cylinder head on the 99 the other im replacing the timing belt on. Both my cars will have new timing belts at least. 253,000 miles 1999 Hyundai tiburon said enough and timing belt snapped and bent valves.

Hope you didn't pay more then 4500-5000. That's essentially a older tfsi motor from a GTI. I personally like the TSI motor that comes with it stock. Is it APR tuned or something?

It 1000% will. Stage 1 gti, intake and exhaust but stock downpipe I got my mk6 gti to 163. The ea888A makes about 40 more hp stock. Tuned it easily is in the 400 crank hp range. My gti makes 300whp on stage 2 ecu and stage 1 tcu tunes.
