Well this was one for the books....I had a stomach ache for 2 days straight and it wouldn't subside. I woke up on day 3 and drove myself right to the ER. As I hoped it wouldn't be, it was my appendix. Straight in to surgery and got that thing out of my body asap. Happy AF to be on the other side of it, but recovery is slow and of course something like this never comes at a good time. But I'm on the mend.
We're moving out of our place so the renters can move in, and we're on to our next destinations.
Lots to do, but no lifting for me...! I feel useless but am taking doctors orders seriously.
Thank you to all of you for the support. Was truly unexpected and am super happy to have such great people around me and in my community.
And big thanks to all the doctors and nursing staff at Stoney Brook Southampton Hospital for the incredible care. Might not be here to write this if it weren't for you guys!!!

I'm a nurse on emergency & trauma ward and let me tell you, I'm in awe of how Brendan is walking less than 24hrs after removal of his appendix. Shows how physically healthy & mentally resilient you are 💪🏾... It goes without saying, please look after yourself and get lots of rest 🙏🏾

God spared my child's life.🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 My child's appendix had burst and she was walking around for days, didn't know. But kept vomiting, I called pediatrician. And the pediatrician said... No don't bring her into the office because it sounds like something contagious like gastrointeritis. BAD advice!!! So what did we do? we listened. After a few home remedies that were not working. I decided I had to take my child to the ER. A very well known children's hospital in my state. That was another drag. My child sat in the ER for a total of 27 hours and nothing, not nothing, no one did nothing. So I had to start barking orders. I told them they needed to order an ultrasound, CT scan or something. By the time they found out my child appendix had ruptured she could barely speak and was leading towards death. But God, Oh God...Yes God. Anyway, God bless you feel better!

Glad you’re doing well. Just be patient and you’ll be back to your old self in no time. Abs control so many things in your body. When I had surgery I was told I couldn’t drive, or even push a vacuum cleaner for about 4 weeks. It was so frustrating…and you realize the little things we take for granted.

So very happy you’re alright. And now. In good health. I myself have gone thru this (I was 1 1/2 yrs old) mine burst, unfortunately and popped my intestines in three different spots. Almost didn’t make it. But still here at 33 yrs old, and still going! Stay safe many blessings! 😊
Glad you're okay and recovering! My appendicitis happen when I was 16 and I'm 39 now so sometime in the 90's and I had to have emergency surgery because it actually ruptured. I woke up to a team of doctors in my room telling me they were putting me to sleep stat. I was in the hospital for a couple of weeks and closed with staples. Medicine and recovery I see has evolved. Praise the Lord for your health! Love you and Hannah and the baby!
OR nurse here. He lucky that his did not burst bc then he'd be in the hospital for a week on IV antibiotics, which sounds like what happened to you. Glad you are healed!

I had 3 emergency surgeries back in late January on my gall bladder and oh man it can be scary when it just comes out of the blue when you had been feeling fine. So glad everything worked out for you and hope your back on the mend ❤️🩹
Brendan thanks for the vlog that included the update . My heart ached for you as you were moving slowly and evident you were in pain. Please follow the dr’s instructions for recovery and rest up . Thank God you drove yourself into the hospital. Praying for a full recovery. 🙏🏽

Feel better Brendan. I like that your up and mo ing around. Most people just lay around for 2 weeks. Hannah, you are a trooper. Haven't heard you snap or complain once. What an example and how lucky is Brendan. I mean he couldn't help what happened to him. The way you both transition into the challenges is youtube worthy.

Take care. My husband had the same surgery and they found cancer. It hurts. He lived three years after the diagnosis. I’m glade you are blessed with the norm of this. I pray you have a good recovery. Take care of yourselves. Live life to the fullest. Continue the beautiful memories. I had my man for 50 years married, and dated 6 years. Enjoy life to the fullest. Love you guys. The surgery & recovery was a bit more extensive & definitely avoidable. Glad everything turned out well. Safe travels

So glad you are okay. I too just had surgery and my gas would not escape. So the nurses had me lie on my stomach and started pressing on the lower lumbar area and WOW, what came out was so embarrassing but was I told if I want to go home I have to be able to let the gas go.... Then while in the recovery room you started to hear others and before you knew it we had a band in the recovery room.... lol lol lol that was so funny. Also please get medical clearance to travel, because after surgery you increase the chances of blood clots forming and could travel to your heart or lungs and could be fatal. Just want to keep you and your family safe. Take care and I will keep you and your family in my prayers. ♥

Hi Brendan glad the surgery went well and wishing you a good recovery. When you look at those little scars it's easy to think that it was nothing. Remember though that there was a lot of work done internally which all has to heal too. I had my gallbladder removed by laparoscopy and recovery does take time. Do what you're told, say yes please to help and you will recover well. Enjoy your beautiful little boy.
My grandfather died from not going to the hospital soon enough! Be thankful that you went in time!

Exactly...so they push gas to enlarge the space so they can see and it takes a while to get out. I had my gallbladder taken out and it felt the same way. I hope you feel better! Also the laparoscopic is great, I felt back to life after a week. Really quick recovering with just the three small holes. They're not visible after bio oil.
Brendan we are appendicitis buddies!!! I had mine removed Saturday night, definitely not a good time. Take it easy and feel better soon.

Please follow your Doctor post-op instructions. As an RN most people end up with complications due to pushing it as soon as they feel a little better. Wishing you well. Take care and follow post-op instructions.

Wow so glad all is on the mend Brendan. Had my appendix taken out when I was in 1st. grade (old enough to be your mom now🙂) and had all kind of wires coming out my belly. My things have changed but I'm indeed thankful for you getting to the hospital on time. Don't overdo anything. Continued blessings to you Hannah and cutie Preston! 🙌🏿✨✨
With the gas and arm pain. Hold your arm up and it should. Help the pain in your Shoulder. Just keep doing it until your shoulder gets to feel better. It's a trick and nurse told me about when I got my gallbladder taken out I had the same issue as you do with gas in your shoulder. It really helped me. I sure hope it will do the same for You. Get better soon.

Glad you're doing well, and that they caught it on time. I had an uncle that walked around 2 weeks with a burst appendix because he thought it was food poisoning! Fortunately, his wide had made him go to the doctor to get antibiotics. He was lucky he survived that fiasco. Prayers for a quick recovery!🌟
